GlossyBox March 2014 Review

I didn’t like the soap or the silver bracelet. Is anyone interested in buying them for a small price? It’s my first box. I think I’ll try one more month and see how it goes.

March was my first GB and I got it on April 1st….? I loved everything in it though, so can’t really complain. I’m not a bracelet person generally but love the swan bangle, love, love, love the hand cream (I use tons), I actually liked the lip crayon (it goes on pretty sheer), the Alterna Bamboo mist is yummy, and Sisley was/is amazing, haven’t tried the Lotus moisturizer yet, and I got the blue polish (which I’ll use next time I get my nails done, as its a fun color. Some of the reviews worry me, but one-in and I’m happy so far.

This is my first box and I was real happy with it. Although I used code GBFRESH and didn’t get the fresh lotus face cream with the box. Has anyone had this happen? Is Glossybox good at responding if I contact them and tell them?

This was my first month with Glossybox and while I was happy to get the Black Rose Mask (really thats what sold me to it) I was missing the nail polish. I got the same box as the poster Christine did.
Honestly I was disappointed in getting the Lip Blush stick, its bright pink and I’m super pale. I was hoping to get that lip lift peel so I’m not sure what settings would have given that box. The soap bar is VERY strong, almost gave me an instant headache. It wouldn’t be bad if it was a bit milder.
I think the only saving grace was that I got the bonus Lotus face cream for it being my first box.
Considering how late the box actually comes for the month I’m not sure I want to keep up with this box.

I caught a glimpse of the Alex & Ani bracelet on a review right as I was canceling my Glossybox subscription. I hadn’t opened my March box (I save them for “down” days, it’s hard to resist but I try!) but I ripped that sucker open the second I thought there might be an Alex & Ani bangle in it. I was really happy to see that there indeed was one included in the March box. I still was okay about canceling my subscription because I’ve been on again off again for awhile now, subscribed for about six months then stopped until they had the blender sponge and signed back up and wasn’t impressed again so canceled now again. However, I am very pleased with my Russian Silver swan bangle. It makes some of those disappointing month’s contents fade in my mind. I know that there won’t most likely be another Alex & Ani bangle in the near future so I’m also good in my decision to cancel for now 🙂

I’d love to know if anyone is interested in trading the blue color for the coral color? I have the color and hate it and I’d really prefer the blue.

I got the same box as you and am super happy with it! And I’m not a blogger, didn’t get it for free. I go month to month, and the only box I haven’t liked so far was last month.

Does anyone know where to do a trade online? I do not like the body Spray.

I signed up for this (through your site so hopefully you get referral credit) and was surprised that they shipped me March with how late it was. I thought I’d give it a 3 month test. It says it will arrive next week sometime but based on the surveys available for me I think I hit the jackpot (makes up for the Fancy mystery boxes) – I also signed up for Ipsy from this site and that I really liked this month. So if the reviews open to me reflect what I’m getting then it would be as follows:

I received the same box and I’m really kind of meh about it. It’s frustrating for me because I know that Glossybox has substitutions and I feel they should use it to give subscribers boxes that appeal to them. Do they not pay attention to the beauty profile? Why would I want a hair volumizer when I told you that I have THICK, short curly (well that was the closest option to coily) hair? I don’t need/want a lip plumper and while I usually like unisex type fragrances I’m not a fan of the body spray. The nail polish is nice but we just got a bottle in February’s box. The only thing I’m really excited about is the Sisley Paris mask.

I would have really liked this month’s box except I didn’t get the Sisley mask. They substituted an extra lip exfoliate product.

I have a serious issue with this, not because I was over eager to get the mask, I have alot of Sisley skincare and actually prefer the pink clay mask I have. My gripe with this is the fact that the March spoiler promised EVERYONE would get this in their box when they apparently did not have the stock to fulfill this promise. If they needed to do substitutions, Ok fine, however I feel as though they should have done so with another high end product of equal value, not a lip product that retails for $17.

How do you choose which customer gets a higher value box? You dont, they should all have about the same approximate value.

On top of not getting the mask, I didn’t even get the perfume spray, I received the tiny nail polish and a hand cream. These companies have no customer loyalty, as a business owner myself this aggravates me to no end.

I have had a Glossybox sub for a long time, it was one of my first sub’s , but they send me the crappy box with none of the better products to ensure they can send all of the Beaty bloggers the best boxes, most of which are receiving them for free, this ticks me off!!

No offense to you Liz, this is not directed at you at all, I love your blog and you are very fair and honest about your reviews and that’s why I love you!!! But if you take a look on YouTube, you’ll see who’s getting all the best boxes, for free none the less, while paying customers get what’s left.

I love all of my subscription boxes, but this is the one thing that I really dislike about sub’s in general.

I’m excited about the face mask, I like the hair stuff and the lip peel, and the polish is a cute color. However I got a full-sized bottle of that brand of polish in a Glossybox a few months ago, so getting a sample size now leaves me feeling very “meh.”

I absolutely hate the smell of the body spray–is that patchouli, or some kind of musk? And I might be in the minority here, but I’m not a fan of the bracelet either. It looks cheap to me and the charms don’t hang nicely when it’s on.

I just got my first Glossybox, and I have a quick question. On my notifications, I only have four products that I can do a review on, instead of all of them. Is this correct, or was a mistake made?

I love this month! Mine was the same except I received the bar soap and I really love the scent even though I’m not a big soap person. The bangle made this month so great. I actually really wanted an alex & ani bangle and have been very close to purchasing one. This was such a great surprise! They must be reading my mind 🙂 All the other products were big wins too and I’ve heard really good things about this bamboo thickening cream. Happy happy happy! Extra bonus- I got it in the month of March 😉

Most of my stuff was the same, but I got blue nail polish and the Scent 7 hand cream instead of the body mist. I liked the box overall, but I just wished for more makeup. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I felt like a lot of my boxes this month were very skincare focused and less makeup. Anyone else have this?

I may be the only one, but I did not like this months box and don’t think I will use any products from it.mi got the bar soap instead of the spray, but hopefully i I can find someone else interested in buying it!

I didn’t like the body spray & I gave the lipstick to my daughter (too pink for me). But I LOVED the Rose mask. If it wasn’t so expensive I’d buy it again. The bracelet is cute but not my style so it will go to my daughter as well.

I only had Glossybox for 3 months, but on-par, on month is amazing, and then ugh, until everyone quits, and then they have another great teaser. Plus, I didn’t like how some people got $50 samples, and others (me) got $4 samples. It just didn’t seem right.

FYI…the March box sold out on Tuesday. The Glossybox website allowed me to purchase a March box (gift box) on Wednesday morning with a confirmation email. Last night I received an email from Glossybox indicating that I had been issued a refund but with no indication of why or the order number it was associated with. I called them today, and they confirmed that they had sold out a few days ago and they were sorry. Their website was updated this morning, and selecting the March box is no longer an option.

OMG I want this box SOOO bad. I literally just signed up. Does anyone know if I’ll still get the March box or have to wait for the next one? I want, I want, I want!

I wasn’t thrilled with this month’s box. I opened the beautiful pink box to this strong medical smell – from the Alex and Ani Scent 7 Soap Bar- really awful. The nail polish color is great but that is one tiny bottle. I love the Sisley and Alterna samples – but the liplift not so much (why are there no eye cream samples). The one good thing was the bracelet which I sent to my sister for her birthday.

I got my box and it is the same as yours and I love it!! Love every little bit of it and the bracelet tops it off! Awesomeness Glossybox!

I received my very first Glossybox last night! I got the dragonfly bangle, which I traded for a swan (my first subscription trade, how fun). I got blue nail polish instead of that pretty pinky coral, Alterna shine-enhancing finishing spray, the Sisley mask, a Jelly Pong Pong lip crayon instead of the peel (a win for me), Alex and Ani body spray, and the Fresh Lotus Cream (generously portioned and quite wonderful). Not every item was a hit, but most are, and I’m really happy with the value. Can’t wait for the next two boxes in my 3 month subscription!
