Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review - Feb 2014 Box

Wantable offers monthly subscription boxes in three categories: Makeup, Accessories, and Intimates. I recommend the makeup subscription for anyone who wants full-size makeup customized to their preferences. (It’s on the pricier side, but you can get super specific on what types of makeup and what colors you want and don’t want).

Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review - Feb 2014 Info

You get to take a very detailed survey of what items you love, like and dislike. You won't receive anything in your dislike list.

Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review - Feb 2014 Nail Polish

Color Club Nail Lacquer in Pret-a-Pink - Value $8

NCLA Nail Lacquer in Bullion in a Bottle - Value $16

This Color Club polish must have leaked a bit in shipping, but fortunately it's still full, so I won't be contacting Wantable about it. (They have a great customer care team though). I also absolutely love the pale pink shade.

Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review - Feb 2014 Shimmer

Girlactik Beauty Face Shimmer in Pink Diamond - Value $20

Sorme Shimmer Glow Wand in Bronzed - Value $32

I had changed up my profile settings and this month I requested highlighters, but now that I have them, I'm thinking they might be too shimmery for me. I think I may end up swapping these and updating my profile settings once again!

Verdict: My February Wantable Makeup box has a value of about $76 - not bad for the $36 price. I probably would like it even more if I hadn't picked highlighters this month - but that's my own doing!

What did you get in your Wantable Makeup Box this month?

My box is great, I was worried after last months but I got 2 brushes (eyeliner and makeup)Mia bellezza eyeliner, billion dollar brows which I LOVE. The blonde matches my brows perfectly. Sample packet of sorme anti age cream, and be a bombshell one stick which I am not sure how to use it.

I also got the Be a Bombshell lip gloss.
It took me a while to get it. You gotta keep clicking until the product comes out. I thought I was breaking it, I clicked it so many times! But, eventually, it came out and I really dig it.

I just recently started a Wantable Intimates subscription, and I was very pleased with my first box. I was sent an item from my “dislike” list and customer service was wonderful about sending me something else and allowing me to exchange a size on an item. I was thinking about trying their makeup box, but after seeing yours I think I will pass. It just seems like a lot of money for what you got. I currently get Birchbox as well as Ipsy, but at least with reviews I can earn points towards full size products. I may have to look into their accessories box instead.

Before you judge the makeup box too harshly, take a look at all the items she marked as ‘dislikes’ in her makeup box. She did it purposely to try and control what she recieved for the month, but it does play a MAJOR role into ‘total value’ for people looking at this review and determining if they would like to join or not. Of the 12 product catagories available, she only marked 4 as likes or loves, so that leaves a whole 8 catagories out of the running to be included in her box.

I have been a subscriber to this box for months and I have loved every box I have recieved. In all honestly, I have had a few boxes where my invoice said I should have gotten an item I actually didn’t find in my box but there was something not listed in its place, and my January box (this happened to MANY people) had my likes/dislikes all screwed up, BUT……..they have the absolute BEST customer service EVER!!!!!!!! All it took was a quick email and I had new items on their way to my house within 24 hours, plus I got to keep the mix-up items. In the case of January, when my likes list was all wonky, I pretty much got a whole second box sent for free.

I’d at least give it a shot if I were you. Just be sure that your quiz answers don’t only list your true likes and dislikes, but that they reflect what you want to see in your actual box. (For example I’m a total nail polish junkie, but unless they’re going to send me some totally awesome glittery top coat or nail art kit that I’ve never seen before, I’d rather not get polish in a box this pricey).

I have only gotten one box so far from Wannabe, but I liked it. I got a lip tint, a great foundation brush, a set of lashes (my œnly disappointment, but ill try them), and a bronzer/blush duo. It all depends on your likes and dislikes. This Individual chose to set it so that they would basically only get two test of things. Look at some of the other reviews from other months.

I do have ipsy though and I see what you are saying regarding price, but its worth trying even if it is expensive. The products are all high quality.

In all honesty, and keeping in mind how much I love Wantable in general, I would be seriously pissed if I got 4 items, 2 of which are polishes, for $36. My last beauty box had three out of five products from Starlooks, which is totally unacceptable considering I could sub to Starlooks for less than half the Wantale price if I wanted their products. Given that they’re one of the most expensive makeup subs, they do not live up to their price point with the products they include. Very, very disappointing. I’m surprised this sub has lasted this long at $36. Pretty ridiculous.

Agreed. I wanted to like Wantable but I just couldn’t after spending $36 + shipping to Canada + the exchange rate – All things considered I found that the products they delivered were pretty underwhelming. Don’t get me started on the issues I had with defective products I received…
