Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – Feb 2014

Rather than spending $36/month x 12 months = $432 + taxes over a year… I’d rather take that money buy myself one really nice pair of sunglasses then take good care of them and a handful pretty scarves in colours I pick out for myself – than have a larger accumulation of items from Wantable subscription boxes that I may not love taking up space in my home.

Unfortunately, my experience with Wantable accessories was terrible. All three of my items arrived damaged, but when I contacted them about a return they told me that for next month I should “update my preferences”. I reached out to them over and over again through e-mail, Twitter and Facebook and got zero response. It wasn’t until I looked up their CEO’s (telephone) contact information and e-mailed them my plans to contact him personally by e-mail and telephone that I got a response, and even then it was only an offer of a refund. They never, ever once offered to replace the damaged items, or exchange them for any other items. I would honestly not dream of giving this company my money again, in any subscription box, and I would seriously question the merit of continuing to support a company with such little regard for their customers’ satisfaction.

I just got my wantable accessories box today. My 12-year-old daughter and I have had a lot of fun with this one. The quality of the pieces is indeed cheap but I feel like they are definitely worth $10-$15 a piece. I love your scarf and hoped to get it. However, I got a great statement necklace, beautiful art deco looking rhinestone bracelet, turquoise earrings that are totally me and a clear stone ring that was just okay but fits nicely.

I find that my items tend to be a bit repetitive. At some point, I’ll decide I have enough statement necklaces and stop. I was getting really cheap sunglasses each month but was able to change my profile and end it. It is totally fun to get a box each month and since the pieces are cheap, I don’t mind if my daughter wants to wear them. The service also gets me out of my style comfort zone.

That scarf is beautiful! I really wanted the Wantable accessories box to be my favorite subscription box ever, but after two months of subscribing I just couldn’t justify it. I felt like the quality of the jewelry pieces I received was really poor. 🙁 My preference is to have fewer high quality pieces over a larger number of lower quality pieces. I am still hunting for a similar box that offers a nice mix of jewelry and other accessories (e.g., scarves). Maybe something a la Golden Tote that allows you to pick one of your pieces each month? Someone needs to get on creating that! 🙂

Sunglasses?? Scarves? and I saw Watches???
Why don’t I already subscribe to this box?
I love my Wantable Intimates, will have to try this on out too! I think I’m finally convinced!! 🙂
