QVC New Beauty Test Tube Review - January 2014 Unboxing

The QVC New Beauty Test Tube is a separate subscription from the original New Beauty Test Tube (it's a little confusing, but this box ships every quarter, and the original New Beauty Test Tube ships every other month).

QVC New Beauty Test Tube Review - January 2014 Super Smile

The Box: QVC New Beauty Test Tube – January 2014 (available every quarter).

The Cost: $29.96 plus $6.72 shipping (sign up for auto delivery to get a subscription, or you can purchase a box individually).

The Products: Full size and deluxe size beauty products, plus New Beauty Test Tube magazine.

Check out all of my New Beauty Test Tube reviews!

QVC New Beauty Test Tube Review - January 2014 Magazine

Each box comes with New Beauty magazine and a booklet detailing each product.

QVC New Beauty Test Tube Review - January 2014 Booklet

The booklet is really helpful and gives you more information on each brand and how to use each product.

QVC New Beauty Test Tube Review - January 2014 CC Cream

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer in Neutral Medium – 0.11-fl oz Value $4.75

Alterna Caviar CC Cream – 0.85-fl oz Value $7.50

I've only used this hair CC cream once, but I already love it! It gives just a little bit of hold, fights frizz, makes hair soft and seven other things! Plus Alterna products are paraben, sulfate and phthalate free!

QVC New Beauty Test Tube Review - January 2014 Chi

Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner in Midnight – FULL SIZE! Value $15

CHI Smart Silk Iron Guard Mist – 3 oz Value $6

Normally this is the point in the review where I would complain about ANOTHER Mally eye liner in a New Beauty Test Tube, but I knew what I was getting in this box before I bought it, so I need to just accept that Mally products will always be in New Beauty Test Tubes!

QVC New Beauty Test Tube Review - January 2014 Algenist

Algenist Retinol Firming Serum - .33 oz Value $32

Supersmile Professional Whitening Toothpaste - 1.75 oz Value $8.75

This Algenist serum is one of the main reasons I decided to buy this box. It gets excellent reviews on Sephora, and I've been very happy with other Algenist skincare products I've sampled. (And it's paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free!)

QVC New Beauty Test Tube Review - January 2014 Peter Thomas Roth

Peter Thomas Roth Mega-Rich Body Wash – 1 oz Value $2

Peter Thomas Roth Mega-Rich Body Lotion – 1 oz Value $2

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution – .25 oz Value $12.50

This lotion is very light and absorbs quickly. Usually I prefer a thicker lotion/cream, but I like the scent of this one a lot. (And it's free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates too!)

Verdict: I paid about $37 for this box and received approximately $90 worth of beauty products, plus New Beauty Magazine (Value $10). I'm going to use most if not all of the products, so the value is great for me, and I really like reading New Beauty Magazine too!

What did you think of the January QVC New Beauty Test Tube?

What a mess! I subscribed to New Beauty to try out the Test Tube Program and boy do I regret it! The test tubes are great. However, if you try to send a gift subscription (which I did the 6 month to a friend for $99) then they automatically open an account in that persons name and tie it to your email address so it is impossible to get into your own account. Long story short, I tried to cancel my subscription, it did not get cancelled and my credit card got charged for another test tube without my authorization. Then when I tried to call and tell the customer service person to delete everything, she was very patronizing and even chuckled at one point. It was very frustrating. Once I hung up with her I received an email confirmation in my friends name confirming an address change. UGH! I wish I had never gotten involved with this. What a mess!

I can’t figure out how to subscribe to this one! It’s not listed anywhere on QVC… How did you guys do it?

Well, that’s weird. I didn’t get any of those things in my box, it’s like I got a different box. I looked at my profile and it doesn’t say anything about different boxes, so I’m very confused.

I was thinking the same thing. I recently stopped the QVC version and ordered directly thru the NB site. I have some of the items they have listed as being in the box, but not all. I wonder if each box is different?

I’m interested to see what you think of the It Cosmetics under eye concealer. I’ve read great things on blogs and I was actually watching QVC last night when they were featuring It Cosmetics. It is so expensive though!!!

Hi Deanna!
I personally love the iT Bye Bye Undereye. You can purchase it (or iT) at several different stores/online retailers. I bought my first tube at Sephora (in store). When I got home that afternoon I saw an email from DermStore.com that had the same size tube, an application brush, deluxe size bonus samples, a mystery gift plus free shipping for the same price.

I liked (not loved) this test tube. We have received much better in months gone by, but it still has some pretty good products. Once I started using the products that I received the more I I liked it.
As I’m sure you already know the Mally eyeliner works really well used on inner eyelid (waterline).
The iT Bye Bye Undereye is awesome as a concealer or as full coverage foundation. It does not cake.
Gave away the hair caviar and the Chi hair product. I get too many hair care products to keep up with.

I love the Malloy liner and pleased it doesn’t irritate my eyes. I am always searching for products for sensitive skin. Love the NB test tube and have ordered Molton Brown products twice since discovering them in test tube.

I LOVE the samples! I can’t wait to use them all. Well, I use liquid eyeliner so I probably won’t use the Mally product.

FYI, Mally is huge on QVC, so if any subscription would have a product by her, it would be OVC. (Peter Thomas Roth is also heavily promoted there.)
