BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review - Jan 2014 Box

BoxyCharm is a full-size and deluxe-size makeup and beauty subscription box. When they first started they were featuring drugstore brands like Revlon and L'Oreal, but lately they've been using mid-tier brands.

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review - Jan 2014 Card

In the past BoxyCharm boxes didn't have specific product info on their cards, but this month they did. Hopefully this change will continue with all future boxes!

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review - Jan 2014 Eyeliner

MODELCO Gel Eyeliner with Built In Brush - FULL SIZE! Value $22

Be a Bombshell Eyeshadow in Birthday Suit - FULL SIZE! Value $14

I have a set of nearly identical gel eyeliners from Cailyn Cosmetics, so I think I'll probably end up swapping or gifting this eyeliner.

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review - Jan 2014 Nail Polish

Sparitual Nail Lacquer in Flower Child - FULL SIZE! Value $12

Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Angeles - FULL SIZE! Value $19.90

I love Sparitual Nail Polish, so even though they sent out a Sparitual polish in the November box, that's fine with me! (If you're looking for a vegan nail polish brand, I highly recommend it).

BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review - Jan 2014 Scrub

Reveille Reveille Warm Vanilla Body Polish - FULL SIZE! Value $16.75

Verdict: I think BoxyCharm gets better every month. This month's box has a value of about $85! I think this is a good subscription if you're looking to try out lots of full-size makeup and beauty products each month.

What do you think of the January BoxyCharm box?

Hi 🙂 just wanted to say nevermind. My sister came to the rescue and WOW now I’m really embarrassed when I see how easy it is to add. Thank you anyway tho 🙂

Hi fellow sub addicts 🙂 I’m looking for some help. I had a stroke (at a young age) a few years ago and while physically back my brain gets snagged on small things. I’d love to add this as well as some of the natural / vegan subs to my wishlist but I just can’t figure out how. I must have known at one time because I have a few listed but it fell in one of my Swiss cheese brain holes apparently . I emailed Liz a couple months ago and completely understand not hearing back, I’m sure she is inundated . Can anyone help me? This is embarrassing beyond belief but I would appreciate it the help more than I can say! Thanks!!

Wow I’m seriously considering swapping wantable for this box. We’ll see for sure once my box arrives this week, but boxycharm is definitely next on my list!

OFRA is a great product, though that shade is very pale.

Are they still using third party sourced makeup (buying not from the brands but wholesale sellers instead)? That’s too big a risk to take in my book since the end user has no idea of the actual source, product legitimacy, or safety. If they changed their sourcing model, I’d be interested in giving them a try. If not, then I’ll pass.

I can’t find any info about sourcing products on their website, but I’ll reach out to them and ask. It looks like the products they are sourcing have changed, so I’m curious if their sourcing methods have changed too.

I’ll keep you posted!

Thanks so much! After getting a very serious eye infection a few years ago from bad makeup I bought off Amazon, I just won’t take any chances. I know they admitted to third party sourcing a while back. But it looks like they’ve started using higher end brands so I hope they are sourcing direct now. Thanks again, I love your site, you do an amazing job here!

They are an indie/etsy company, I believe they have been in Indie Gift Box before.
