Glossybox Review - December 2013 Beauty Samples Subscription

I probably say this in every GlossyBox review, but I just love their packaging! (I ended up using quite a few of these boxes to wrap gifts in this year).

For me, the December 2013 GlossyBox arrived one day after Christmas, and it was like a nice bonus present!

Glossybox Review - December 2013 Unboxing

The Subscription Box: GLOSSYBOX

The Cost: $21 a month (save more with 3-month, 6-month or annual subscription!)

The Products: Deluxe and full size beauty products.

Check out all of my GlossyBox reviews and the list of the best beauty and makeup subscription boxes!

Glossybox Review - December 2013 Beauty Samples

My first thought when I opened the box was: Yes! Everything looks like it's full size or deluxe size!

Glossybox Review - December 2013 Info

Each GlossyBox comes with a card detailing the items included, and the price for the full-size item.

Glossybox Review - December 2013 Mask

Michael Todd True Organics Pumpkin Mask - 1 oz Value $10

Anatomicals You Need a Blooming Shower! - 5 oz Value $2.25

I really like this mask from Michael Todd - it's made with natural ingredients, smells great, and it's even certified vegan! I've sampled it in other boxes, and I'm thrilled to have more!

This body wash definitely smells like a bouquet of roses. I like that it's paraben free, but I'm not sure if the scent is too intense for me, I'll definitely give it a try though!

Glossybox Review - December 2013 Face Cream

Naobay Oxygenating Cream Moisturizing - 1.01 oz Value $26

Dr. Hunter's Hand Cream - .5 oz Value $2.80

I love sampling natural and organic beauty products, so I'm very happy that this Naobay sample is more than half the size of the full size version. It should give me enough to find out if I want to buy more! (I sampled it this morning and I really like the light scent, and how quickly it absorbs into the skin).

Glossybox Review - December 2013 Nails Inc

Nails Inc Victoria Polish - FULL SIZE! Value $9.50

This is a deep-cherry color that is supposed to have a very glossy finish.

Verdict: I paid about $18 for this box (12-month subscription), and I received a little over $50 worth of items. This is a very high value box for me because I'll use everything, and I love that all the products are large enough sizes to really get to try!

What did you think of the December GlossyBox?

This was my first Glossybox and I loved it! I got the rose body wash which is a bit too intense in scent but I’m glad it was a full size and I will probably try it in the future. I also got the eyebrow/eyelash wand which I’m VERY excited to try. I also got the dark nail polish which I passed on to a friend because I don’t really wear dark colors on my nails. I also got the pumpkin mask which I’m also very excited to try and was happy that it was a decent size. Also got the oxygenating cream moisturizer….another great find!

I also put in the code for first timers and got a black eye shadow twist pen. The color is very black and it took a while to bring up any eye shadow. You have to twist alot before anything happens. And BTW the box is gorgeous! I think I found my new fav box!

This is my first Glossy Box. I had been with BB for years and even at $10 did not think it was worth it, the only thing good about BB is the points to buy full size products. I went on to Ipsy loved it but not age appropriate for me. I wanted to stay in the $15 subscription range but after reading reviews that Glossy sends full size and larger samples I thought it was worth the try. You are correct, the Glossy Box is beautiful. I received a box identical to yours. of the 4 items in tubes only one had a seal on it which I did not think was sanitary. Can you let me know if all yours were sealed? I do not like the heavy rose scent of the hand cream or the body wash. The face cream is very nice, I have not tried the scrub yet and do like the color of nail polish but I get my nails done and nail polish is not something I need at home and think that was in my profile. I would have loved to get some makeup we girls like color even with skin care and that was a big complaint of mine with BB they were only sending me skin care products. Overall I liked this box better than the other few I have tried – will see what next month brings!

I was really wanting this after seeing the teaser nail polish, which is on my nails as I type. I liked getting great body/face items, when every month Ipsy takes care of my make-up needs. I just found it odd that some people got a $20 eye liner or brow wand, while others got a $3.50 hand cream (that’s what I got). Also, is it normal for the items to not be sealed?

Mine wasn’t sealed either. I think whether or not the products are sealed is based on the specific product, not GlossyBox, but I personally would prefer all my items sealed!

After a complete flop and disappointment with last Monty’s box, I have to say that this month box made me quite happy 🙂 I got the eyeliner instead of hand creme (although I would have rather received the enhancer). I do love the eyeliner though, just don’t know how long it will last. Usually liquid eyeliners dry out fast. We shall see! I love the other products: the body wash left a very pleasant lingering scent on my body after the shower and the face mask smells so yummy that I actually tasted it (yes, I know, it says external use only, but it smelled so good; and in case you were wondering, it tastes tart). The mask left my skin very soft. I followed with the Naobay moisturizer and now I feel soooooo refreshed and my skin looks and feels great 🙂 So very happy that Glossybox decided to choose these products this month. There is nothing better than a company that shows you that they care by sending you natural and/or organic products.

Oops, that was supposed to be “month’s” not Monty’s…

I got mine on Saturday and love that I will use all the products! I got the eye liner as well instead of the hand cream. Mine had some black dust on the products but nothing major. I just wiped them off. I love Glossybox. I think it is one of the best out there. I re-subscribed through the Living Social deal a few weeks back. I think it was $155 for 12 months making each month less than $13!

While I normally love Glossybox, my box this month was a DISASTER! The box inside and out was completely covered in this awful black soot-like dust. It was everywhere! All the contents of my box were covered in it too. The worst part was it got all under the lids of the products and inside them
. It doesn’t just rinse off either.

I had this happen with my Beauty Bar Sample Society box too. It turned out to be from the black packing paper pieces in the box. Each month it got worse and worse, so I cancelled it – didn’t want to deal with the mess.

This is the first time I’ve had it like this with my Glossybox after almost a year, which makes me wonder if they switched to a cheaper packing material?

Anyway, mine was so bad, I had to toss the contents and the box. Did anyone else have this problem with the black dust mess?

Did you try contacting customer service? If everything in the box was ruined because of their packing material, I’m sure they would at least give you a refund or replace the box.

I noticed a little “black dust” in this box as well although it wasn’t nearly as bad as you described with yours. This is the first time I have experienced it. While it was a little inconvenient it didn’t ruin any of the products in my box.

I’m getting so frustrated with GlossyBox. Not sure why, but every month either something is broken, missing, or it gets hung up in shipping. I’m in Pittsburgh, too, and my package is still hanging out somewhere in New Jersey. Hasn’t moved since the 21st.

I’m in Cleveland and I just got mine yesterday, if that helps at all

I got almost the same box as you did. The only difference is that I received the “Ardency Inn” Punker liquid eyeliner. I love liquid eyeliners, so this was a good addition for me.

I’m upset I missed out on this box. Everything in this December box is awesome! Should have gotten this instead of the popsugar box!

I loved my box. I received it on Monday the 23rd. I have everything with one exception. Instead of the handcream, I received the Ardecy Inn “PUNKER” World’s baddest eyeliner. A liquid liner with a retail value of $19.00. BTW, I love the intense rosey scent of the shower gel. Definitely a repurchase for me.

Definitely can’t wait to receive mine! Hoping to get the wink product instead of the handcream or eyeliner, need to work on my eyebrows lol, but everything else looks wonderful!
