Fancy Food Box Review - Dec 2013 Purple Box

The Fancy Food Box is one of the most consistent fancy boxes in my opinion - if you're looking to try a Fancy box that won't be too surprising or sometimes random, I recommend it. (It's also just a great gourmet food box option!)

(We’ve been subscribers to the Fancy Food box since the first month, but this month Fancy offered to send me this box at no cost for review purposes).

Fancy Food Box Review - Dec 2013 Info

Each box comes with cards detailing the items included for that month.

Fancy Food Box Review - Dec 2013 Fondue

Fondue Set - Value $30

I'm really excited to try this - and I love that everything is dishwasher safe!

Fancy Food Box Review - Dec 2013 Bark

Red Rocker Candy Peppermint Bark - Value $14

Sadly for me, this box is full of delicious holiday treats I can't eat because of either dairy or gluten, but this peppermint bark made a great addition to a gift!

Fancy Food Box Review - Dec 2013 Snicker Doodle

Tumbador Sweet & Salty Milk Chocolate Bar with Pretzel Nuggets, Peanuts, & Buttery Toffee Pieces - Value $4

Tumbador Vanilla Snicker Doodle Spread - Value $12

I was told these were both absolutely delicious - the torture!

Fancy Food Box Review - Dec 2013 Honey

Mike's Hot Honey - Value $12

This honey is infused with chili-peppers! I am a little intimated by it, but if you have any recommendations on what to try it on - let me know! (Each Fancy box this month also came with a holiday card).

Verdict: The December Fancy Box has a value of about $72 ($42 of that being actual food products). I thought this was a wonderful and indulgent box, but I'm hoping the January box has some healthy items!

What did you think of the December Fancy Food Box?

My fiance makes a delicious pork loin which he bastes with pepperjelly, honey and butter. The honey is two of the flavors in one! Yum!

I just recently had mikes hot honey in a milkshake – but dairy. I tried it straight too and I think it’s the kind of thing I would use in everything. Especially if I had a cold haha. It’s amazing!

Using it in hot water with lemon juice would be great for a cold!

My first thought for that dreamy sounding honey was chicken and fish! Fancy rocks so hard!

Interesting! Thanks for the suggestions! 🙂 (I am not creative at all when it comes to food pairings)

Ooh, hot honey, sounds fun! Maybe you could use it like Thai sweet chili sauce (drizzle over summer rolls or other Asian finger foods) or in a sweet and savory dish, instead of sugar.
