Sample Society Subscription Box Review – November 2013

Sample Society Subscription Box Review - November 2013

Sample Society is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription service. I’m always impressed with the value of this box, and the quality of the products included. If you’re looking for a subscription box that is a good mix of makeup and skincare, I highly recommend Sample Society!

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included for that month. This month’s theme is Winter Wonders.

Sample Society Subscription Box Review - November 2013

Borghese Splendore Brightening Makeup – FULL SIZE! Value $29.50

Jane Iredale Mini Lip Drink Lip Balm – Value $4

At first I thought this Borghese brightening makeup was a deluxe sample size, but it’s the same 1 oz size as the full size version, just different packaging. This product gets great reviews, and I can’t wait to try it blended with my CC cream.

Illume Balsam & Cedar Candle – 1 oz Value $3

Eau D’Hardien Perfume – 1.75 ml Value $3

This candle smells like winter and holiday time – I love it!

Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture – .25 oz Value $10

I’m most excited about trying this product – it gets great reviews on Sephora, and it’s free of harmful ingredients like phthalates and parabens!

Verdict: I paid $15 for this box (plus tax I think) and I received about $50 worth of products. I’m never that excited about perfume samples in boxes, but everything else in this box is a win for me! I’m definitely pleased with the value this month!

  1. I received the following:

    – Jane Iredale Lip Drink Lip Balm $ 12
    – Borghese Splendore Brightening Makeup $ 29.50
    – Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrien Eau de Toilette $92
    – Murad Anti-Aging Acne & Pore Minimizing Hydrator $49.50
    – Illume Balsam & Cedar Metallic Tin Candle $23.50

I have the Murad Pomegranate Pore minimizer and really like it. I can’t wait to try this one. The scent of the candle is nice, not over-powering. For $15, this subscription is such a deal!

  2. This box never seems up to par for 15 dollars… It’s samples you can get at your local ulta store. I may give it one more month then I’m over it….

  3. I absolutely LOVE Murad products!! Haven’t tried their moisturizer yet, but if it’s anything like they other items I’m sure it’s excellent.

  4. This box makes me want to subscribe! The product quality and value seems to be very nice!

  5. I received the same exact box! I love the borghese and the candle! I use the borghese as a highlighter so my face doesn’t seem too shiny. And the candle… It smells amazing! I’m pretty picky with candle scents but this one was spot-on.

  6. I just subscribed to this box and I JUST missed November’s. It looks AMAZING. I’m really hoping December’s is just as good.
