Birchbox Snow Day Limited Edition Box Review

I LOVE Birchbox Limited Edition boxes  (I always buy them for myself and for gifts), so I was thrilled when Birchbox offered to send me the Snow Day Limited Edition box to review!

Birchbox Snow Day Limited Edition Box Review

First look - the packaging is very festive - I love it!

Before I get to the box contents, here's what's in the Snow Day envelope:

First, there's a card detailing every item in the box. There's also a card with some scrabble tips since there's a mini scrabble game in this box!

Two more cards: one promoting other items you can buy at Birchbox.com, and another with tips for a perfect at home spa day.

Lastly, this card included some book suggestions for a snowy day!

Birchbox Snow Day Limited Edition Box Review

Happy Socks - Value $10

Jonathan Adler Fireplace Matches - Value $10

Only Jonathan Adler could make matches so glamourous! (FYI - I'm guessing the pattern of socks will vary from box to box).

Birchbox Snow Day Limited Edition Box Review

Mox Botanicals Matcha & Clementine Body Soak - Value $8

S.W. Basics Organic Lip Balm - Value $4

This Mox Body Soak might be my favorite product discovery in the box - I love the scent, and it's made with all-natural ingredients. I will definitely be buying this in full size! I love this lip balm too - it's all natural and has a great cocoa scent!

Birchbox Snow Day Limited Edition Box Review

Malin + Goetz Travel Candle in Dark Rum - Value $14

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream - 10 mL Value $2

This Malin + Goetz candle is one of those rare scents that my husband and I both love. The one thing I'm trying to figure out though is whether or not it's made with paraffin. (I try to avoid that wax in candles). There isn't a specific ingredient list on the packaging, and the Birchbox description says it's "made with a natural blend of beeswax, vegetable and soy waxes," but under the ingredients section they list: Paraffin, Petrolatum and Microcrystalline Blend, Mineral Oil, Dark Rum Fragrance Oil.

Birchbox Snow Day Limited Edition Box Review

Askinosie Chocolate Single Origin Cocoa Powder - 40 g Value $3.25

Three Tarts Gourmet Cinnamon Marshmallows - Value $1

A Snow Day box wouldn't be complete without cocoa and marshmallows! I'm so glad they didn't include more marshmallows - I would have eaten how ever many they sent at once!

Scrabble Birchbox Edition Mini Game Set - Value $36

This Scrabble mini game set is also a great snow day item. It's SO tiny though! (I think it's American Girl sized).

(I took a picture with the lip balm so you can get a better sense of scale).

Birchbox Snow Day Limited Edition Box Review

Chantecaille Flower Infused Cleansing Milk - 8 mL Value $5

Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask - 5 mL Value $8

More items for the spa day part of the box. I'm excited to try both of these!

Verdict: According to my calculations, this box has a value of just over $100! I think it's a great deal for $39, and I already purchased one to give as a gift. (FYI - the mystery bonus packs are sold out in the women's section, but still available in the men's bonus shop! You can add one to your box for free and still use a bonus shop coupon code too!)

What do you think of the Birchbox Limited Edition Snow Day Box? Will you be buying one (or more)?

My Snow Birchboxes just arrived….I love them! And now 3 gifts are done for this year. Liz, thanks for all you do!

I think I’m going to use the scrabble as a DIY project instead. Especially since it’s so small and I already have the game. Also, FYI the women’s sample pack is now restocked!

They still have the women’s bonus box, or they replenished stock on it.

The codes only work if your order is over $50. The mystery box counts towards the total, but you don’t get charged for it. I ordered the snow box and mystery box, bringing my order to $49 (but only charged $39). I added a $3 chapstick, then it allowed me to add the mobile20 code.

Thank you for posting your review. I was so close to buying this–but seriously cannot justify a mini scrabble set made of cardboard, accounting for $36 bucks. The average scrabble set is $15.

I will however, be purchasing the cocoa, marshmallows and rum candles for holiday stocking stuffers. Hopefully Birchbox will have them individually for purchase– so that I can get points!
Happy Sox are fabulous so that’s another great item.
Aside from the scrabble, this set rocks.

FYI – the link to Mox Body Soak takes you to the Cocoa Powder. I have some BB points I was going to use this weekend and that Soak looks like just the item I need for the winter 🙂 (If it’s anything like the Mox Lip Butter it has to be incredible – such a great BirchBox find!!)

They only let you use one promo code or mystery pack at a time. So instead of choosing the men’s mystery pack, I used the MOBILE20 code for 20% off my order!

I was able to use both the mystery pack and the coupon – since you add the mystery pack to your bag and don’t need a coupon for it – it worked for me!

Hope that helps!

well gee…..I need to call their customer service, then. When I added the mystery pack, it added $10.00 to my order. When I removed the MOBILE20 code, then the mystery pack was free. I logged out and back in to check this too. I’ll call and see if they can throw a mystery pack in there!

Amazing! I just ordered 5 of these as gifts and used the 15% off coupon code “GLAMLATINA15” from ramblingsofasuburbanmom. I hope everyone I got these for likes them – I think it’s a great (and easy) way to take care of a few people on my list! Thanks for writing about it!

Thanks! The free men’s gift was something I could not resist…had to buy then. Also, used my 200 BB points, so it only cost $19.

I love the items in this box – thank you so much for sharing because seeing the pictures really made the decision for me. I’ll likely gift a couple things to family that I think it’s best suited for like the matches, scrabble, and socks but I love the skincare brands that are included. I’m really excited to try the Chantecaille minis. Since I had quite a few points accumulated I decided to splurge and get another Paul&Joe lipstick as well. They are just so pretty and they come with such a lovely case. Thanks for the men’s sample pack tip as well, I didn’t notice that part of the post (as I skimmed pictures first) until AFTER I ordered (Next time I’ll read the whole post first lol) but I was able to use the live chat function and ask them to add it after the fact. They were so nice and just made another order w/free shipping for just the sample pack so I didn’t miss out. How sweet 🙂 I love your reviews popping up in my inbox, keep em coming!

What an awesome box for those days after the holidays when everything is done and you just want to put your feet up! Ordered and into my pile! Never made it to the gift pile. . . . Hmmmm the gift pile is looking kinda sparse as my pile keeps growing!!!! LOL. : )

Grabbed two, one for me and one for a gift. My mom really liked the From the Garden SE box last spring so I’m hoping she likes this one for Christmas. Although that Scrabble board is REALLY small! Thanks for listing the values.

Ordered! This is a great package to pull out after the holiday is over and you want to just sit back and relax and put those feet up! I was going to get as a gift, but I think it edging its way into my pile really very quickly!!!

I just ordered it! I was already thinking about it and your review solidified what I was already thinking. Thanks for the tip of getting the men’s free gift w purchase. I would not have thought of trying that. Also, I love the blog and have become an avid reader recently!
