Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Review - October 2013

Lotus Moon Vitamin B Hydrating Gel Facial Moisturizer - Sample

The All Natural Face Lip and Cheek Color in Dusky Rose - Full size? Value $5.75

Concrete Minerals Eye Shadow in Trouble Maker - FULL SIZE! Value $7

I swatched this eye shadow on my hand and it has a lot of shimmer and a little glitter - I think it's going to be a special occasion only eyeshadow for me! (I can't wait to wear it - I love the cocoa shade!)

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Review - October 2013

Meow Meow Tweet Body Tonic in Geranium Basil - Value $3

Earth Science Fragrance Free Shampoo and Conditioner - Value $1

I love the scent of this Geranium Basil Body Tonic! And I can always use more healthy travel hair products, so both of these items are wins for me!

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Review - October 2013

Bare Bones Cleanser - 2 oz Value $5

Karitex Organic Shea Butter - Value $10

I love that both of these items are organic! To be honest, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this brick of organic shea butter. It's good through March 2015, so I guess I have time to figure that out!

Verdict: I paid $19.95 for the October box and received over $30 worth of vegan and natural beauty products. This isn't my favorite box from Vegan Cuts, but I'm very happy with it and I'll use most of the products.

What do you think of the October Vegan Cuts Beauty Box?

Coralie

I wasn’t very happy with this box, I cancelled after opening it. All the makeup was very garish, I got a black coffin eyeliner/eyeshadow instead of the shea butter and the lid to the cleanser was broken.

Hey Coralie, Thanks for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear our October picks weren’t for you, but we switch up the contents every month and have lots of amazing products planned for November and forward. I hope you’ll give us another try sometime soon. Best wishes!

absolutely worthless box this time. I got bergamot body tonic and it smells horrible.
I’ve tried moisturizer lotus moon before with some other box subscription, so wasn’t impressed at all.
The shampoo/conditioner sample was enough to wash ends of my hair-not even half! I wish I got Shea butter too, but they sent same lipgloss as I got last month as a replacement for damaged item. very dissaponted

Here’s a recipe to make ultra-moisturizing whipped shea butter cream!

4 oz. unrefined shea butter
2 tablespoon base oil; for example extra virgin olive oil
10-20 drops essential oil(s); optional, for example you can use lavender oil
mixing bowl
electric whisks mixer
one clean empty 8 oz. jar, or two 4 oz. jars, because volume will be increased

Steps for making whipped cream:

Before you start to prepare whipped shea butter, make sure your unrefined shea butter is on a room temperature. Do not melt or heat it! Put your shea butter in a bowl and mash it with a fork. The same way you make a mashed potato.
Add base oil(s) and mash it little bit more.
Put the mixture into the mixing bowl. Mix it on a high speed with electric mixer for approximately 5 minutes.
Believe it or not, this is it! Optionally, you can add chosen essential oil(s) and mix it few minutes to blend it with your whipped cream.
Put whipped cream in a clean jar(s) and close it. Keep it in a dry, dark and cool place. Room temperature is fine.

I might have to cave and subscribe to this box–the goodies all look so nice, and I love that they’re all vegan.

Hi. Not my favorite month either. I loved last months. This box seemed kind of empty!,

You could use the shea butter to make your own lotion bars!

I got a shampoo instead of the shea butter. I kind of wish I’d gotten the shea butter though. I use shea butter every day on my lips. You should find an empty container to transfer it to maybe?
