No More Dirty Looks Quarterly Subscription Box Review #NDL08

No More Dirty Looks is an eco-friendly beauty subscription box from Quarterly. If you're familiar with this blog, then you probably know I love discovering new natural beauty brands. I had to sign up for this subscription!

No More Dirty Looks Quarterly Subscription Box Review #NDL08

The Box: No More Dirty Looks

The Cost: $50 (This box I'm reviewing was $25, but they recently changed the pricing of this subscription. My understanding is that the new boxes at the higher price point will also have a higher value).

The Products: Siobhan and Alexandra spotlight the best clean products, reawakening a tradition of self-care and showing that organic ingredients are all you need.

Ships to: Shipping is free to the US. (Canada +$10; rest of world +$15.)

Each Quarterly box comes with a letter from the contributor explaining the theme of the box and what items they chose to include. This month's theme is all about brows!

Esme Minerals Snowflake Eyeshadow - Value $5

100% Pure Eyebrow Powder Gel - Value $15

I was SO excited to see this brow powder in the box! 100% Pure is my absolute favorite natural beauty line, and I haven't tried this product yet, so it's a huge win for me!

Eco Tools Lash & Brow Duo - Value $2.99

Eco Tools Flat Eyeliner - Value $3.99

Verdict: I paid $25 for this box and received $27 worth of eco-friendly beauty products. I will use absolutely everything included, and I loved how thoughtful the curation and letter were, so this box had a great value for me. I will definitely re-subscribe to the $50 rate ASAP! (Quarterly automatically ends your subscription if they raise the price and then they email you letting you know about the price change so you can re-subscribe if you're interested).

I used to subscribe to them–over a year ago–and after about 4 boxes (1 year) I cancelled. The value always seems to be low and never items that I cannot find cheaper and often at Target. One time, they sent an awful green/super scratchy wash cloth that was made in Korea with the threads falling apart and it stunk like chemicals when I opened it. Nothing natural about it. It was MAYBE worth 99 cents. And a small single use sample of an exfoliant and a small sample of lotion. That was it in the entire box. At that point I cancelled. I felt like I was throwing away $25. There are much better subscription boxes out there for natural beauty items in my opinion.

I wish it had a higher value as well. The brow gel can actually be purchased for $11 on Amazon, so the box contents can be purchased for $23. I have the EcoTools as well (purchased at Target). I love the site and read it every day, so was really disappointed in my first experience with subscribing to the box. I just expected something more.. special .. given the exceptional nature of NMDL.

I expected more from NMDL too, as they have an awesome blog and feature amazing natural beauty products all the time. Not sure if I should spend the $50 for the next box… I don’t want to be disappointed again!

I liked the box (just wish it had a little higher value). I already have the Ecotools brushes, so I’ll probably be gifting these. I really love the 100% brow gel! I recently bought the one in Brunette because I have medium-dark brown hair, but I actually like the Taupe color better! It gives my brows a more natural look vs the intense look I get with the Brunette color. The eye shadow is ok… I think my skin color is too light for it to show up on me, but I’ll still use it as a highlighter.

I didn’t get an email from Quarterly about the price increase… so now $50 every 3 months, right?
