Julep ZigZag Mystery Box Review

It had been a month or two since I purchased a Julep Mystery Box, but when Julep released their ZigZag mystery boxes, I couldn't resist! I decided to buy the ZagMax box! (I believe this is mystery box variation 1 - but I can't find my invoice now).

Julep ZigZag Mystery Box Review

The Box: Julep ZigZag Mystery Box (ZagMax)

The Cost: $24.99

The Products: Nail polish, other Julep beauty products, and chevron nail stickers.

Check out all of my Julep reviews and the Nail Polish Subscription Box Directory!

Julep ZigZag Mystery Box Review

Chevron Nail Stickers - Value 2?

This was the item Julep guaranteed in each mystery box. I assumed nail stickers meant complete coverage stickers, but I think these are better to use as nail stencil stickers. Definitely great for nail art! What do you think of the chevron stickers?

Julep ZigZag Mystery Box Review

Julep Nail Color in Cassie - Value $14

Julep Nail Color in Sylvia - Value $14

I didn't get as many nail polishes as I thought I would in this box, but I love both of these colors!

Julep ZigZag Mystery Box Review

Julep Sea Salt Texture Spray - Value $22

Julep Dry Clean Invsible Dry Shampoo - Value $22

I can always use more dry shampoo, and I like Julep's sea salt spray, but I probably will store it away until next summer!

Julep ZigZag Mystery Box Review

Julep Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil - Value $23

Julep Double Step Foot Treatment and Friction Stick - Value $22

Verdict: This box was more beauty products than nail polish, but I think that works for me! I also lucked out on value - this box has a value of about $120! Which Mystery Box did you get?

FYI - This box is no longer available for purchase, but Julep releases a new mystery box, so make sure to join the My Subscription Addiction daily newsletter to get notified when the next one is available! (And if you haven't signed up for a Julep Maven subscription yet, use coupon code FREEBOX to get your first box free!)

I received the julep box this past week and I have to say I was bit disappointed of the polish longevity. I took this polish with me to get a manicure and the nail technician said that the polish goes on thick and dries very quickly. So you have to apply on precisely one coat, but the good thing is that you don’t need to apply a fast dry base coat. I like that I received a couple of julep foot scrubs sample sizes. Loosens up dead skins cells as it gives you a warm feeling to your feet. Can’t wait to see next months box!

Kind of seems like the last 5 or 6 months of Mystery Boxes have been Clean-Out-All-The-Stuff-From-Previous-Maven-Months-Boxes. Glad I haven’t taken the bait yet…

I got the mini-zig box.
Mine had the seasalt spray, the double step stick, and two polishes. Mine did not come with the chevron stickers which I thought were supposed to be part of each mystery box. I emailed for clarification on this, but regardless, I think my box was great!

I got the same box. Pretty excited at the value of the box. I’ve never tried a beach spray before. I got the mystery add on and got 3 nail polishes and a lip scrub.

Will the ZigZags be available again? These look amazing.

I’m still waiting for mine. I ordered the medium box which from review are the same except for the colors. I wouldn’t mind Cassie as I don’t have that one. I also like the hair products.
I added on maddison and three colors from the special deals to that order.

I would have been disappointed with this box since I already have the Sea Salt Spray (I like it but I have 3 different brands on my counter), the friction stick (works fine but the price is outrageous for what it is) AND the Beach Tonic Oil (mine clogged on the second use – anyone else have that issue?). Seems like they are just cleaning out all the summer items which is silly for the fall – I’d prefer to get last year’s summer items in a mystery box next spring when I’m gearing up for the season!

I have to agree. I think these items were not as popular as the other beauty items like the oil cleanser. They could have previewed the new beauty serum.

Woow! This box is amaazing for the price.

I have the sea salt spray. and I actually love it, when I want to have a more of a non-styled hair day 🙂

So you didn’t gave to pay $39.99? I got the biggest one too!

Nope – I paid $24.99 for this box. Did you get the same box for $39.99?

I got the $39.99 box, and I received (version 1):
The Sea Salt Spray
The Beach Tonic
The Double Step Stick
3 Polishes
The essential oil cuticle rollerball
& Freedom Polymer Top Coat

So we basically got the cuticle oil (which comes for free in the first free box) instead of the dry shampoo, and then one extra polish and the top coat. Hm. I kind of wish I would have gotten the one you got instead, Liz! And I thought the last $39.99 mystery boxes (Galaxy) had like 9 polishes or something!!
