Ipsy Review - October 2013

Usually after I see hundreds of amazing looking Ipsy photos on Instagram, I get a little jealous and start to wonder where my glam bag is, and then it shows up the next day. That happened to me again this month, and after seeing the goodies everyone was getting, I couldn't wait to see what was in my Ipsy bag!

Ipsy Review - October 2013

The Box: Glam Bag by Ipsy

The Cost: $10 a month (free shipping)

The Products: Full size and samples of makeup and beauty products. (Plus a makeup bag!)

Check out all of my Ipsy reviews and the Beauty Subscription Box Directory!

Ipsy Review - October 2013

Each Ipsy bag comes with a card highlighting all the brands they featured for that month. Your bag will include 5 items based on your profile. After looking at the brands for October, I am very happy with the products Ipsy matched me with!

Ipsy Review - October 2013

Sexy Hair Blow Dry Volumizing Gel - 1.7 oz Value $3

LA Fresh Oil-Free Face Cleanser - 10 wipes Value $3

I love LA Fresh's eco-beauty line. I use their face cleanser and makeup remover wipes all the time. These will go to use ASAP!

Ipsy Review - October 2013

Nourish Organic Deeply Nourishing Coconut & Argan Body Lotion - 1 oz Value $1.50

Buxom Full On Lip Polish in Dolly - 2 ml Value $9

I was hoping I would get this Nourish Organic Body Lotion in my Ipsy glam bag! I love the scent, and it's made with 100% organic ingredients! (It's gluten-free and vegan too!)

Ipsy Review - October 2013

Zoya Nail Polish in Giovanna - FULL SIZE! Value $8

I love Zoya nail polish, and this metallic green shade has me excited for the upcoming holiday season!

Verdict: I'm very happy with my October Ipsy bag. I paid $10 for this bag, and received about $25 worth of product. I've had even higher value Ipsy bags in the past, but I love all the items in the items I received, so this is a high value box for me!

What did you get in your October Ipsy bag?

Anyone know how long the current waitlist is? I’m psyched to get my 1st box!

Two months ago I was only on the waitlist for a week!

I LOVE my Ipsy bag this month. Looks like the only thing we have in common is the polish, that I LOVE. I really like the gloss. I can never have enough of those. It would have been great to get one of those, but I’m not going to complain. Ipsy is one of my fave subscriptions.

This is what I got: http://50thingsbeforeiturn50.com/2013/10/17/october-ipsy/

I got the Starlooks lip liner in Tipsy. It looks horrid on me. I have found out through Ipsy that I do not like Starlooks products. The green nail polish will become a stocking stuffer. The Navy eye shadow…another stocking stuffer. The only item I will use this month is the Sexy Hair styling product. As you dear blogger have already mentioned the Glam Bag is still a good value each month even if I dislike most of it.

I think this was my fave ipsy bag so far, although I was really hoping for a be delectable hand cream. I got Zoya polish in Mason (like your color better but I’ll still wear mine), style sexy hair spray clay, h2o hydrating treatment for my face, Nourish Organic lotion like yours and my favorite, OFRA lipgloss plumper in sultry.

I loved my IPSY bag this month! I received the Be Delectable Strawberry & Cream hand cream by Cakebeauty (smells amazing!), Zoya polish in Mason, Buxom Lip Gloss, the Big Sexy Hair hair gel and an H20 moisturizer. I already had the Zoya Mason polish but I managed to work out a trade for Giovanna!

As far as Birchbox goes, I’ve been very dissatisfied with the products lately. I’m going to cancel my subscription and look for a replacement.

My ipsy bag was very different from yours this month. That organic lotion looks great!! I would’ve liked to have gotten the Buxom because I’ve been wanting to try the brand for awhile. I was pretty satisfied with my box, though! My review should be up this weekend if you’re interested in seeing what I got.

@allcapsERINN

I got Be Delectable Strawberry & Cream hand cream in a 2 oz. tube and I just want to pour it in my mouth and eat it!

My nail polish color was a purple shade (Mason) and I also got the lip polish in Dolly and the hair gel. In addition, I got a moisturizer – Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment – from H2O.

Really happy with my bag this month! It was the perfect mix of makeup/body care/skin care/hair/nails! (The bag itself was kind of cheesy though. 😉 )

I was really hoping to get the cute chevron bag that some fellow ipsy subscribers relieved, and I am so tired of pure and lavender nail polish, but other than that, not bad!

I am waiting to get off the ipsy waitlist… I hope it’s soon because this looks better than the birchbox I got for October (Buxom Full On Lip Polish is my go to for lip products). It was my only first box though so I am giving it another shot.

I received the exact same bag! And I love it. I don’t wear anything on my lips, so unfortunately the lip gloss will go unused, but I love everything else. $10 well spent yet again!

So much more pleased with Ipsy than BB. I got a nice brush, polish & shadow in very pretty purples, the wipes and hair gel. Except for the gel (we have way too much hair stuff) everything will be used. This & one food box may be the only boxes I’ll keep until I find work.

I actually LOOOOOVED my Birchbox this month and feel like Ipsy has been extremely boring lately. A lot of drugstore brands, ugly shades, and the quote on the bag was pretty cheesy to me, at least in the context of an Ipsy bag (a girl on MUT managed to photo shop a picture of Zoolander on there which made it a little better, hahaa). I also think Ipsy’s shipping is disastrous since they made the switch to DHL and their CS is terrible. Now I feel bad I’m hating on Ipsy. Sorry Ipsy lovers. No offense!

I loved my Birchbox this month too! This was my first ipsy and I was kind of disappointed. It didn’t quite match what I selected in the quiz. Hopefully next month will be better! I’m trying to remember that I hated my first Birchbox and then it got better 🙂

I definitely like this months bag way more than previous ones! I don’t know if I’m getting bored with Ipsy or what, but I’m not as excited as I used to be.

I cancelled my Birchbox this month when I finally got off the Ipsy waitlist (I was on since May!). I just got my shipping notice, but looked last week at my goodies online and I agree that it does blow BB out of the water. My only bummer is that I’m not getting Dolly, but a lip liner instead.

I received my Ipsy bag today along with my Birchbox and again I feel Ipsy blew birchbox out of the water. I have never been disappointed with Ipsy they are awesome…

I’m not super thrilled by my bag this month. I received the Zoya nail polish in Mason, and the Coastal Scents eyeshadow brush, along with the LA Fresh face wipes. I got the Bella Terra eyeshadow in navy, and the Sexy Hair spray clay, both of which I will never, ever use
