Birchbox Review October 2013

Each box includes a card detailing the items in your Birchbox for the month!

Birchbox Review October 2013

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant – . 25 oz Value $9.75

Pop Beauty Aqua Lacquer Lip Gloss in Flowering Fuchsia – FULL SIZE! Value $14

Yay for a full-sized product! (They seem to be rare in Birchboxes compared to other beauty boxes lately).

Birchbox Review October 2013

Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls – 1 oz Value $2.50

Coastal Scents Eye Shadow Mini Palette in Thrill Ride – Value $2

Sadly, this eyeshadow got a little damaged in transit, but I should be able to still use it!

Birchbox Review October 2013

Chapstick Hydration Lock – Value $3

This chapstick is a Birchbox Find (a drugstore beauty item that doesn’t fit into Birchbox’s regular premium beauty sampling service). The good thing about Birchbox Finds is that they are additional bonus items – they never count as one of your 4-5 samples!

Verdict: I paid $10 for this box and received about $30 worth of beauty products – not bad at all! I think I’ll use everything here with the exception of the pillow soft curls hair treatment (I need to update my Birchbox profile to let them know I don’t wear my hair curly).

What did you get in your October Birchbox?

  1. This was my first time ordering a BirchBox, and it was okay. I got the lipgloss and chapstick but everything else was different. I did a review:

Love your site, I’m starting to develop a subscription addiction lol.

  2. I had in my BB for October
    Supergoop sunscreen
    Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion
    12 Benefits hair treatment

  3. Have you seen? Birchbox now has an iPhone app! How exciting! You actually get 20% off for your first $50 purchase through the app but shopping was not allowed last night when I was downloading the app!

You can track your boxes, review products, pick your favorites, and shop (eventually). 🙂

    • Awwesome – thanks for letting me know!!

  4. A couple of drops of rubbing alcohol will fix the eye shadow. Then just leave it to dry, and it will all hold together.

  5. Wow, I go totally different. Of course I received the lip balm, but I received 12 benefits hair treatment, Alison Raffael foundation, dr. Brandt skin exfoliant and theBalm stainica.

I loved it! and all of the products were delux size which I loooved!

I’m so impressed how different products everyone is receiving.

  6. This is the first time that I haven’t been jealous of what everyone else got. I received Ms Jessie’s curl conditioner. Liz Earle’s Hot Cleanser, which I hope I love so much it replaces my Eve Lom(which is a truly amazing product for dry and troubled skin). Pop Aqua Lacqer in red.folle de joie perfume sample, very light and lemony. Chapstick which I am passing on to my boyfriend. Very happy indeed .

  7. I’m pretty happy with the products I got…
-Atelier Orange Cologne (I don’t really wear perfume)
-DDF Pore Minimizer Serum (can’t wait to try this one!)
-Serious Skin Care Exfoliating Facial (sounds awesome!)
-TheBalm Stainiac (super tiny sample size…thought it would be bigger)

This has been one of the best BB boxes I have received!

  8. I tossed my Chapstick after trying it. The product irritated my lips, plus some of the ingredients are just toxic. I did like the rest of my box though.

  9. Hey! Just so you all know, if you go to the Miss Jessie’s website you can order two samples just for the cost of shipping ($1!) Way worth it- their Cream conditioner is awesome, and they have a lot of other things that aren’t just for curly haired girls! If you’re looking for a good deep conditioning treatment they have those too! Big packets!

    • Thanks for the Miss Jessie’s tip – I ordered 2 samples!

  10. I would have loved to get Pillow Soft Curls. I’ve been wanting to try it, but I’m too cheap to buy it and too lazy to order a sample on their site. I can’t complain too much about my box and I’m not 100% sure what I would have given up for it soooo, nevermind. 🙂
    Loved my box this month.

  11. I also got the aqua lacquer gloss.
But instead of the microdermabrasion paste, I got Bain De Terre shampoo & conditioner (1.7oz) and Ruffian nail lacquer (color: hedge fund).
