Honest Company Review - New Products for September!

The Honest Company Essentials Bundle is one of my favorite subscriptions ever - they have amazing eco-friendly household products that we use every day. And they've even done what I thought was the impossible - get me excited about cleaning products.

Every month or so they release new items to their product line, and while I don't review every bundle I get from them since it's a lot of the same products month-to-month, I thought a review of their newest products would be helpful!

The Box: Honest Company Family Essentials Bundle

The Cost: Select 5 products for $35.95 a month plus $5.95 shipping (they also have a diapers bundle for $79.95 a month)

The Products: Safe and eco-friendly cleaning, bath and body products. (Plus products for mom, kids and baby too!)

Honest Soap - Value $5.95

Before they just offered this soap in Lemongrass - but now it's available in Lavender and Mandarin. The formula is the same, and the scents are as amazing as you would expect from the Honest Company!

Honest Window & Glass Cleaner - Value $5.95

I have been waiting for Honest to make a glass cleaner! I think they now have all of my cleaning needs covered! This glass cleaner works great - no streaks. I just wish it had a fresh scent like other Honest cleaning products!

Honest Canvas Tote - Value $16.95

The bag is more oversized than I expected and I love it (I added that soap in the picture to show scale).

It also has a long strap and inside pockets. And it's machine washable! (I may end up getting a few of these for reusable grocery bags).

FYI - This tote is only available as an add-on the monthly essentials bundle.

Verdict: All the new Honest Company products were a hit for me - now I want them to release even more new products! (Deodorant and mouthwash are on the top of my wishlist). What are your favorite Honest Company products?

I’m really excited about this company, but I’m confused on how the bundle is a great deal. If you pay 35 for 5 products, you are paying 7 dollars per product, and most of the products individually on the website are under 7 dollars. Do you receive multiples of the items you choose in the bundle? Out of the items I was going to add to my bundle, the only one that was over 7 dollars on its own was the laundry detergent.

This is my strategy for using the Honest Bundle (hopefully it helps!). For my 5 items I only pick items that are $9.95 or more, so I know I’m getting some savings. You can do duplicates of some items, but you can only get one laundry detergent per bundle. Other items I usually get: Dishwasher pods ($10.95), Shampoo ($9.95), Conditioner ($9.95), Healing Balm ($12.95).

After you pick your 5 items, they also let you add on up to 3 more items at 25% off. That’s when I add lower priced items like handsoap, multi-surface spray and oxyboost.

Hope that helps!

Okay, that makes total sense! I guess my problem was that I was only looking at the cleaning supplies and didn’t even check the other items you mentioned. Thanks for the tips! 🙂

We looked for safer wipes online for our son to avoid all the bad Parabens and Phenoxyethanol. We discovered this company and were actually seduced by their products and mission statement.

We ordered the Honest “FREE” sample package for $5.95 shipping to get a better idea of what to order in their entire catalogue.

Not only the diapers did not work better than the brand we were using before but they even created a terrible rash on our 16-month old son (or are these their wipes?).
The wipes are dry and stick to each other which must be pretty annoying on the long run.

So we decided not to go that route and look for another brand that would satisfy us and our son better.

Now the worst part begins !!!! What they call a “free trial” ends up being a monthly service where they stuff you for over $160 worth of products before you can even react and cancel it.
There is no actual way to cancel and manage your orders/subscriptions on their website, they force you to call their Customer Service(even an e-mail is not accepted).

We had to stay for 25 minutes on the line before talking to an operator who ended up offering a 15% discount on the bundles !!!
Seriously ??!!!?? You shoveled those products we never ordered down our throats and you don’t accept them back ?

Those $5.95 did cost us over $160 because we did not go and read the fine prints at the very bottom of the page and we are now sitting with all those products that are not suitable for our son.

OUTRAGED !

We even discovered after the fact that their wipes (maybe some other products as well, to be verified) were manufactured in CHINA!!!… How green is that?!?

And they call themselves the HONEST company… that’s ironic !

Love their conditioning mist!!!! My hair is a tangled mess and a few sprays of it and it is easy to comb through!

I buy their shampoo/body wash at Costco. 2 big bottles for $15! I use it on my kids.

Plastic non-refillable bottles wrapped in plastic bags. Hmm – honestly not so eco-friendly.

I LOVE the hand soap. I was skeptical of the body wash since I have super sensitive skin with the tendency to be extra dry. BUT the ingredients are very similar to that of Aveeno (minus the oatmeal) and I love it!

I did email them and ask them to consider making a hand soap refill instead of the waste of so many soap bottles all the time. They said it was ‘in the works’. 🙂 deodorant would be nice. Been using Crystal but it’s not completely aluminum free as it as some other form of aluminum in it.

I bought the tote but have not received it yet. I’m super excited now after seeing your picture. I wish they would make a deodorant as well!

I’ve been using their SLS-free toothpaste, and I like it.

I’m also waiting for a deodorant!
