Elizabeth & Clarke Subscription Review - Autumn 2013

Elizabeth & Clarke is a women's clothing subscription box - and they specialize in just shirts and tops! They make all their styles in house, and only do a limited amount of new designs each season, so they are able to keep the prices very reasonable. I've received a few boxes from them to review in the past year, and I can't say enough about the quality of the products - I am so impressed with this subscription service! I was thrilled when Elizabeth & Clarke kindly sent me this box to review.

The March Long Sleeve Tee

Here's a picture from Elizabeth & Clarke's site of the shirt:

I love the elbow patches on this tee! When I first tried this top on it was a little too long (the elbow patches were more like forearm patches), but I threw it in the laundry and it came out the perfect size. This is officially one of my favorite new fall tops!

The Lyon Asymmetrical Long Sleeve Tee

This was another shirt I had to wash and dry first to get the perfect fit. I love the dark grey shade and the cut!

Verdict: I'm always semi-amazed that Elizabeth & Clarke sends you shirts that are this high quality for as little as $20 a shirt! Did you get any shirts from Elizabeth & Clarke from the Fall Collection?

Also, I just checked their website and here's a look at some of the options in the Winter 2013 Collection:

I love both of the black tops!

I wish I would have found this site a month and a half ago. I love most of the fall collection. Winter is pretty good, but I’m more of a dress down girl. I also agree with everyone about preferring long sleeves. I am afraid if I don’t get in now, by the time the next season rolls around so many people will have discovered this that they will have a waiting list.

I got my 1st subscription, the March & Lyon were too big, but I shrunk them in the dryer. The 2 button ups were too small in the chest, so I swapped them. I only ordered the top 2 shirts for winter for work, there weren’t 3 I needed.

The Barrett’s collar looks different in the picture than real life. I felt deceived.
I also got Taylor after seeing rave reviews. But because they switched manufacturer, I think the quality went down. It was very yellowish and do not look like the picture. The pockets puffed up too.

Did the Barrett shrink up too? The sleeves on it and the Taylor are WAY too long on me, and I want to return them if they don’t shrink, but I’m not sure if they’ll take them back if they’ve been washed…

The Barrett top shrank the least for me – I’m going to be wearing it with the sleeves rolled and buttoned up!

Besides the longer sleeves, was the Barrett top too big overall? I have the Taylor coming for winter and I’m wondering if I should size down?

This is my 2nd month with Elizabeth & Clarke and I love everything from them! I dont understand the confusion with short tank tops and winter… when I saw the collection I immediately thought it would be perfect for x-mas parties… I mean does anyone wear long sleeve for parties? Not me! 😉

I suspended my sub for Winter. I love my fall shirts but I don’t need sleeveless for winter! I hope spring is more appropriate for the season.

I contacted them at the end of May about the possibility of plus size and they said they were working on that. I keep hoping every collection is the one, but my hopes are dashed. I love how basic these pieces are and can’t wait until they carry a 1X.

I am in love with my shirts. I had to size down this month since they do run a tad big, and they fit perfectly. I am however really confused about Winter. If they were going to have tanks and tees they should have also offered a nice cardigan for warmth. Just a thought.

Whoops sorry for the blank comment 🙂
I was going to say.. I got the same 3 shirts for fall and in the same size. They are huge so I am glad to hear I just need to put them through the wash. I was worried it would ruin them!

Also… just find it weird that their winter collection is all tanks and tees. Doesn’t make sense to me.

I also thought it seems odd that the winter shirts are sleeveless. I dropped my sub to one shirt for the next season not because of that, but just because most are too dressy for someone who works from home.

By the way, Liz I wouldn’t mind shrinking one of my shirts (the Lyon) a tad. Do you wash it in cold water or did you try hot? I don’t want to run in. TIA!

Yep – all three shirts came out of the dryer in great condition 🙂 – I think I’ll need to belt the black blouse though – the cut wasn’t very fitted.

LizM

I signed up for two shirts. I chose the black pleated one and the classic Taylor blouse. I can’t wait to receive them!

I got my first box yesterday, and I love my new shirts! I completely agree that the quality of these shirts is amazing! And for as little as $20!?! Amazing! I got the Liz, the Lyon! and the March. Can’t wait for my Winter selections!

All of these are so cute! This is such a great idea (:

These are fine, I suppose, at the 3/$60 option, but I would be pretty angry if I paid $30 and got any of them. The last two especially look like the shirts the local laundromats make and hang outside to get a few extra bucks :/
