Quarterly Co. Food and Home Box Review - August 2013

A few weeks ago I decided to sign up for a few Quarterly Co. subscription boxes. They have a ton of different boxes - some are themes like this one (Food and Home), and others are curated by various tastemakers. Each box only ships every 3 months, so I decided I could justify signing up for 6 subscriptions!

The Box: Food and Home curated by Quarterly

The Cost: $50 a box (ships every quarter)

The Products:  Some of Quarterly's can’t-miss, must-have picks for the homefront.

Ships to: US, (Canada extra $20 fee, International extra $3o fee).

Each box comes with cards detailing why they selected each item for the box. Every box also has it's own hash tag. This is the second Food and Home Box, and the hash tag is #QFH02.

Tovolo Spoonula - Value $10

Tovolo Spatula - Value $10

At first when I opened this box, I thought, eek - I already have all of these things! But these spatulas are definitely the nicest spatulas I own now. I decided that I will consider this box an "upgrade my kitchen" experience.

Pure Komachi 2 Chef's Knife - Value $15

Tovolo Tip Top Tongs - Value $11

I love that the design of these tongs allows you to rest them on the counter without the part that touches the food touching the counter. (I'm a bit of a clean-freak in the kitchen so these are an item I honestly don't know why I didn't already own!)

Joseph Joseph Rocker Stainless Steel Garlic Crusher - Value $15

This is another item that technically I already own an alternative for - but this version is just so much cooler! I already used it tonight to make dinner!

UPDATE: This box also included a splatter screen that was hiding at the bottom of the box:

Nor Pro Splatter Screen - Value $12

Verdict: I paid $50 for this box, and I received about $70 worth of quality kitchen products - I'm very pleased with the value of my first Quarterly Co. Box! I just wish I didn't have to wait another 3 months for the next Food and Home box! I've also subscribed to Technology and Toys, No More Dirty Looks, Netted By The Webbys, True Ventures, and Veronica Belmont. Of course I'm already thinking about signing up for more! Do you subscribe to any Quarterly boxes? Let me know if there are others you recommend I try!

I’ve received a couple of boxes from Quarterly in the past. I’ve never really gotten anything that I was ever super excited about though. One time I got a game of jumping beans and a make my own camera kit, then I got a kit on how to make my own sauerkraut. I need to try this curator next time, their items are so much better!
