Our Local Box - Subscription Box Review - August 2013

This month’s theme is Vegan Treats from Kentucky. I avoid dairy in my diet, so I was thrilled to find out this was the theme!

Najla’s Gone Nuts! Spiced Nuts – Value $8

Half-Peach Vegan Bakery Fruits, Seeds and Oats Energy Bar – Value $2.50

This spiced mix of macadamia nuts, pecans, walnuts and almonds was absolutely addictive. It had the perfect amount of sweetness, and I’m talking about it in the past tense because we immediately devoured this whole bag!

Screamin’ Mimi’s Sweet Hot Salsa – Value $4.25

Rooibee Red Tea in Watermelon Mint – $2

As soon as my boyfriend opened this tea and tasted it, he turned to me and asked, “What box did this come in and are there more?” I used their store locator and found out that it’s carried in a lot of grocery stores near us. I’ll be stocking up soon. We never would have tried it if it wasn’t for Our Local Box! Also, I love that it’s organic!

Louisville Vegan Jerky Co. Sriracha Maple Vegan Jerky – Value $6.50

Little Eatz Cinnamon Crunch Dog/Human Treats – Value $5

I don’t think I’m going to try the dog/human treats – but I’m sure our dog will love them!

Verdict: Almost all of these brands are completely new to me, and everything we’ve sampled so far has been absolutely delicious. As usual, I’m thrilled with this month’s Our Local Box! Do you subscribe to Our Local Box? What was your favorite item this month?

  1. I got the Cheddar version of the Dog/Human treats from a Barkbox back in April or May. They tasted terrible, really dry and bland. Even my dog isn’t too fond of them.
