Beauty Box 5 Review – August 2013

My eye shadow was black. Umm… guess maybe I can use it as a liner. Maybe. The polish was blue, which has worked out well. The lotion was actually pretty good, and the smell fades quickly unlike other lotions, so that is good. The H2O was kind of a disappointment. Yes, I only tried it once, but the dryness came back quickly, so… not good for me.

eh. this was the worst one from them IMO. the only thing I liked was the file and I get manicures 3 times a month! so when will I use that? anyhow…the lotion had the worst scent ever – something like a cheap mall brand, H2O brand and my skin don’t get along, and don’t need the polish (reason stated above), and so not that daring with my eye makeup which decided to break and get all over the contents of the box. I’m thinking of sacrificing this subscription and Ipsy and putting the $$ towards the Blush box…

I received this same box except my shadow was green, my nail file was red sparkle and my nail polish was a bright, neon pink. I had a 3 month sub that I cancelled after this last box. I just don’t feel excited about these products as they just strike me as dollar store items. I really, really hated the lotion, so much that I actually threw it out! I gave away the file, put the polish in my trade pile and kept the moisturizer to use later. I am thinking of re-subbing to Glossy Box, which is more expensive but I really like their brands and almost always use them.

I’m still waiting for my Aug box to arrive, but the product mix looks great. I hope my eye shadow isn’t this bright, but it would still be fun.

When you sign up for Beauty Box 5,if you choose the (yearly) annual subscription do you have to pay the full amount ($99)? Or do they charge you monthly?

I love Beauty Box 5. Wouldn’t have subscribed if it I hadn’t read your reviews. I was very surprised that I really – and I mean REALLY – liked the lotion. And I’m very sensitive to fragrance.
