Fair Treasure is a subscription box service that sends you ethically sourced, fair trade items each month. My favorite part about this service is that they also provide information on the makers behind each item. It's wonderful to read their story and I was very happy when Fair Treasure offered to send me another box to review. (Check out my May Fair Treasure review).
The Box: FAIR Treasure
The Cost: $30 a month plus shipping (Free shipping with 3 month plan)
The Products: Each box will contain at least $30 in retail value of ethically sourced treasures. Typically, your treasure box will contain 2-3 items.
TARA Projects Sunset Strands Necklace - Value $24
I thought I would start the review with my favorite item in the box - I love the colors of this necklace!
Golden Glow Candle - Value $8
This candle has a wonderful beeswax scent. I think I might save it for the holiday season. More on the group that makes these candles:
Artisan Group: Candelas La Luciernaga
Country: Honduras
The cooperative Candelas La Luciérnaga (“Firefly Candles”) is a project of the nonprofit women’s organization Actions for Popular Development (ADP). La Luciérnaga supports ADP financially while providing the women artisans with income. La Luciérnaga artisans produce a variety of candles, decorated with natural materials like dried flowers and leaves.
Circles and Facets Earrings - Value $16
I love the design of the floating glass bead in the golden hoop! This box definitely feels like it was made for me! More on this organization:
Artisan Group: Noah's Ark Int'l Exports
Country: India
Noah’s Ark International Exports is a fair trade handicraft marketing organization in Moradabad, India. Most of the artisans are women, who benefit from the fact that they can work from home and maintain their responsibilities for children and household.
Verdict: I'm very impressed with the craftsmanship and the design of these items, and I love that by subscribing to this box you not only recieve wonderful surprise gifts each month, but you can feel really good about the box being ethically sourced and supporting fair trade. What do you think of the June Fair Treasure box?
