Beauty Army Subscription Box Review - August 2012

I have mixed emotions about Beauty Army. I love that they let you pick your samples, but I hate that there's no surprise element when I open the box! Anyone else feel that way?

Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream - .7 oz Value $10.50

Vita-K Professional Spider Veins - 3 oz - FULL SIZE! Value $13.50

Both of these formulas use peptides to reduce the appearance of skin issues. I haven't had enough time yet to see if they work wonders. (Fingers crossed)

Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream - .1 oz - Value $.85

One of the great things about picking your own samples with Beauty Army, is that you can avoid foil packets if you want to. Normally I follow that rule, but this time I really wanted to try Egyptian Magic. (It seems to have a cult following and I was curious). Turns out, it's a lot like Aquaphor ointment, but even more concentrated.

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment - 1 oz - Value $6.55

I've received this before from other subscription boxes and really like it. Also, a little goes a long way with this hair treatment, this 1 once bottle will probably last me a month!

Cell Ceuticals PhotoDefense Daily Skin Protector SPF 55 - .33 Oz - Value $7.50

YoungBlood Mineral Primer - .17 oz Value $5.00

Verdict: For $12 I received over $43 worth of beauty product. I'm not super excited about all of the products, but I think that's partly my fault. Whenever it's sample selection time, I typically pick products I've already tried or things I know I will use, but that keeps me from discovering fun new products. What do you think of Beauty Army? How do you approach sample selection time?
