Love Goodly is a non-toxic and cruelty-free vegan subscription box that sends a mix of 4-5 full-size beautywellness, and lifestyle items every other month for $34.95 (with free shipping). They also offer a VIP subscription for $48.95, which comes with an additional full-size product (or two). Every purchase supports a different cause each month.

This review is for the VIP subscription for $48.95 every other month.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Note to Canadian Customers: "As of October 28, 2022: At this time, we have paused shipping our bi-monthly subscription boxes and prepaid box plans to Canada; however, you can still purchase the Single Essential or Single VIP Box to ship to Canada. Current active Canada customers are not affected."

Inside the February/March 2024 Box

Springy weather came earlier than expected in my area this year, and the colors and scents of the February/March Love Goodly are perfectly suited to the sunshine.

Info about each product is listed inside the folded card. Here you'll also find a little about which charity this month's box supports, plus a 15% a discount code for purchases made from their shop. Typically the month's products are available in the Love Goodly shop shop a little after the box launches, so if you need to re-up on a product you fell in love with, it'll be there waiting for you to buy with your 15% discount.

In this Love Goodly delivery we're treated to multiple products from a new-to-me skincare brand, Pink Moon. They are plant-based, holistically made, and affordably priced skincare essentials with ethically sourced ingredients and results-driven formulas. At their creation, wisdom is drawn from Traditional Chinese Medicine, Crystal Healing, and Elemental Astrology. This month, regular subscribers are sent two Earth Element goods to try, and VIP subscribers are sent an additional one, an Air Element. Pink Moon products are all vegan, non-toxic, cruelty-free, made in the USA, and the company is woman-owned and AAPI-owned; they are also a company that gives back.

Pink Moon Taurus Strengthening Cleanser, 2 fl oz – Retail Value $28

First up is the Taurus Cleanser, which is a daily clay cleanser using Kaolin Clay to draw out pollution and dirt from the pores; Snow Mushroom to penetrate with hydration, plump, and regenerate; and Neem Leaf to combat dryness and restore moisture. It can be used for regular cleansing or as a gentle exfoliating mask by layering on the skin and letting it dry and sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off. Additionally, you could add a small mount to pimples or breakouts for a 30-minute mask, or up to overnight. What doesn't this cleanser do?

You can see it has a pearly appearance, and it's thin and easy to spread. I haven't tried it as a mask or spot treatment yet, but it rinses off easily as a cleanser. Of note, this cleanser is oil-free and scent-free, which is an awesome, thoughtful touch for those with sensitive skin. I find that even products without fragrance to hold some sort of scent, and this one strikes me as almost milky-smelling, even though it's vegan. It was an acquired taste for me, but after a few uses I actually really enjoy the neutral smell.

As for the astrology bit, this formula was co-created with an AAPI astrologer Evelyn Zuel. The idea was to bring positivity, comfort, and playfulness into your daily life through a mindful skincare ritual that you can customize to your needs.

Pink Moon Virgo Strengthening Serum Essence, 2 fl oz – Retail Value $45

Next up is this absolutely delightful serum, which is kind of mind-blowing in its bright mint color. The colors of all Pink Moon products are from 100% natural extracts and botanicals, which feels simply magical as you pump out and apply this vibrant serum. By contrast to the cleanser above, this serum does have a scent, which comes naturally by way of White Rose Hydrosol—over and above offering natural fragrance, this ingredient soothes inflammation, moisturizes, and even supports emotional harmony. It is meant to be applied to clean skin to encourage glowing, balanced skin.

This formula is awesome for those with dry or dehydrated skin, but suitable for multiple skin types. It is infused with Clear Quartz Essence, which purifies and balances energy, as well as Moringa to boost your skin's natural collagen production. I love love love this serum, especially as part of my new skincare routine (which includes the VIP item below).

Liplove Be Pure Oil Cleanser, 1 oz – Retail Value $20

Onto the next spotlight brand of the month, here is our first Liplove offering. Long-term Love Goodly subscribers will recognize this brand from tinted lip balms we've received in the past, and this is the first non-lip-color item we've received from them. It's a flower-infused oil cleanser meant to nourish and cleanse beneath the surface of the skin. It's capable of removing makeup, SPF, excess oil, dirt, dust, and other impurities.

While very different from the other cleanser that came in this box, it does feel a bit redundant to receive two cleansers. I'd be curious to hear if folks out there rotate cleansers often. Personally I feel my skin does better with consistency, even if it rotates over time. I suppose in theory I could see myself using the Taurus Cleanser daily, and this deeper oil cleanser only after more rigorous days. What do you think you'll do?

Liplove Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Grace –  Retail Value $12

Next up from Liplove is this moisturizing gloss. It's a rosy gloss with golden undertones and lots of shimmer. While giving your lips color, it also nourishes with Jojoba oil.

Liplove products are all vegan, non-toxic, cruelty-free, handmade in the USA, woman-owned, Black-owned, and they give back. Love Goodly is so great about not only introducing these great brands I want to support, but also continuing to include them for us over time.

This color is pretty versatile, eh? I can see myself using it on my way out the door for day-to-day or for a more subtle going-out look. I typically don't reach for shimmer, but it's nice to have a little something different in my makeup kit!

Willow Collective Let's Eat Cake Candle – Retail Value $16.95

Last up for regular subscribers is this 100% soy candle. Its box and tin are decorated with a funfetti cake design, which is objectively cute and exciting. The candle itself is decorated with gold flakes. The scent is definitely sweet and cake-like! It's very youthful top to bottom, and not for me. I can't think of any friends who would go for this sweet of a scent, so I'll probably set it aside for our babysitter's birthday.

Pink Moon Aquarius Brightening Moisturizer, 2 fl oz – Retail Value $48

VIP subscribers will find this moisturizer added to the mix. As far as skincare routines go, I've been using it after the Taurus Cleanser and the Virgo Essence. It includes ingredients such as Licorice Root to brighten and soothe redness, Rice Bran Oil to soften and soothe your skin, and Gotu Kola to brighten and protect from outside stressors.

Isn't the natural color incredible? Pictured above is 2 pumps, which is enough to cover my face and neck. It takes some massaging for the color to dissipate, but I can confirm it does not leave your face purple! I am kind of obsessed with how my skin feels after using this month's Pink Moon trio. It's completely clean and hydrated while not bogged down with moisture.

Verdict

It's a really positive month with Love Goodly! The Pink Moon products check all the boxes in terms of a brand I want to support, and products that are extremely satisfying to use. The Liplove products are not as aligned for me, since the cleanser seems repetitive and the lip gloss isn't a color I would've chosen—but I'm going to keep both to use sporadically. The candle was a miss for me, but I'll happily gift it.

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, sign up today to receive this box. The April/May 2024 box renews on March 28, 2024.

Value Breakdown: The Love Goodly bi-monthly VIP box costs $48.95 + free US shipping. VIP subscribers received 6 items this month. That breaks down to $8.15 per item. The total retail value inside the VIP box is $169.95. Non-VIP subscribers are promised a value of $70+, and I added everything from the regular subscription up to a total of $121.95. That's a rad value, no questions asked.
