Enchanted Crystal is a monthly subscription for crystals, hand-picked and uniquely curated to offer a truly enchanted crystal experience.

This box was sent to us free of charge for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review for the $16.00 Crystal of the Month subscription.

First Impressions

How cute is the crystal-covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation!

The crystal was carefully packaged: nestled in packing paper and enclosed in bubble wrap. It’s not surprising then, that it arrived in perfect condition.

Enchanted Crystal includes two inserts in their monthly subscription box. The first uses several QR codes to link to various letters on their blog. One links to a letter to new subscribers, another to their Crystal Library, and one to the current month’s newsletter.

In the January blog post, Enchanted Crystal shares that they’re preparing to attend the Tucson Gem Show (one of the largest gem and mineral shows in America). Something that they mention that I feel is worth noting is, “Our sources include direct vendors from conflict-free and fair-wage mining operations in Madagascar, Morocco, Brazil, Mexico, and more.” Personally, I enjoy my crystals more knowing that they’re ethically sourced!

The second insert gives the details of January's star crystal: grenatite. This insert is fabulous because it gives the history of the stone as well as the metaphysical properties. If you lose your insert or you’d like to read it online, the same information can be found in their Crystal Library.

The Crystals

Zebra Jasper & Quartz Points (Bonus Crystals)

Each month, Enchanted Crystal includes a small collection of bonus crystals and stones. I look at these extras as an appetizer; a little taste to get you hungry for more! The bonus crystals I received in this box were two small pieces of zebra jasper and two quartz points.

I’m smitten with the two pieces of Zebra Jasper. I love the banding and how the darker minerals contrast so sharply with the whiter ones. According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “Metaphysically, zebra jasper is believed to bring a sense of harmony and stability, helping individuals find balance between opposites and navigate through life's challenges. Zebra jasper is said to promote a sense of wholeness and unity, encouraging integration of the shadow self and the light aspects of one's being.”

Though I’ve received quartz points in past boxes, I’m never unhappy to add more to my collection. They’re beautiful to look at and I think they’ll make a lovely pendant using a wire wrapping technique I’m learning.

According to the Crystal Library, “Metaphysically, clear quartz is highly regarded for its amplifying and purifying properties. It is believed to enhance energy, clarity of thought, and spiritual connection…. It is also believed clear quartz can cleanse other crystal varieties. By placing a clear quartz inside, below, or on top of another variety it's thought that the larger stone's vibrations will remove the inharmonious energies found in the resting stone.”

A great start. Now, on to the main event!

Grenatite Palm Stone

The main crystal this month is grenatite and it’s one that I’d never heard of. At first glance, I noticed deep red, garnet-like sparkles. I turned to the information insert that came with the box, and was intrigued by what I read.

According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “Grenatite, a rare and captivating stone, is essentially a rock composed largely of garnets, the well-known silicate minerals that are often prized as gemstones…. In the case of grenatite, this process results in the development of a densely packed array of garnet crystals.”

I love garnets. They’ve been one of my favorite stones since childhood. I own many garnet rings and a few pendants, so I was surprised to learn that there was a stone that was composed of many, tiny garnet crystals. I have no idea why grenatite isn’t commonly used in jewelry because it’s really beautiful. Plus, the stone included in this box is smoothed and shaped to comfortably rest in your palm.

Enchanted Crystal adds that, “Metaphysically, grenatite inherits much of its attributes from its primary component, garnet. Garnet, in various cultures and metaphysical traditions, is regarded as a stone of passion, energy, and health. It's believed to enhance creativity, bring out a person’s inner fire, and boost energy levels. Grenatite, with its intense concentration of garnet, is therefore often associated with revitalization and the recharging of energy fields.”

The Verdict

January’s box was intriguing. I love receiving a crystal or stone that I’ve never seen before. I’ve been obsessed with using gemstones in my jewelry making for the past twenty years. So to find a new one, that happens to be composed of one of my favorite stones, is really fun and a great reminder that there’s still so much to discover.

If you are interested in crystals, the monthly box is a great place to start your collection. As for the value, considering the fact that shipping is included in the $16 cost, I feel that the subscription price is a very good deal.

I’m always excited to see what this box will contain and what beauty and knowledge lie within it!
