Gwynnie Bee is a size-inclusive clothing rental subscription service offering sizes 0-32! Gwynnie Bee allows you to select items you like that are put in a virtual closet. The chosen items in your virtual closet are sent to you at random, but you can select priority pieces to be sent to you first. Since I started using the service, I can say I always have a lot of fun with this box!

The cost depends on how many items you would like to rent out at a time. Prices start at $49 per month for 1 item, and can be up to $199 for 10 items. Gwynnie Bee also has a marketplace on their site where you can buy discounted used rental pieces and brand new accessories, underwear, and workout gear as well!

This is a review of the three items at a time for $95/month.

What's Inside This Box

Pink Paisley Wrap Dress by Smak Parlour, Size 3x — Cost to Keep $45.00, Purchased for $40

A few months ago, I reviewed another Smak Parlour dress that I was OBSESSED with! At the same time I was trying to scoop that very adorable mod dress, I was eyeballing this one. I might have been even more attracted to this dress due to the color palette and print. It felt like it was me in dress form. I literally went on the Gwynnie Bee site almost daily to see if this dress was finally available to rent in my size. I am so glad that I did because I absolutely adore this dress.

Now, don't get me wrong – it is not perfect. The modesty button is a bit of a joke in terms of the placement. I might get my friend to adjust that aspect of the dress because my chest is slightly more exposed than I would prefer. This is my second Smak Parlour dress I have opted to keep, and I am sure it won't be the last. I am a sucker for their retro prints and comfy, stretchy fabrics. This dress is perfect for a summer garden party, but I can envision it being translated into fall wears with black opaque tights, platform open toe shoes, and a faux leather biker jacket. It also would look fantastic with orange or yellow opaque tights, white ankle booties, and a faux fur animal print coat for extra vibrancy and pattern-clashing goodness! I paired this dress with some of my favorite Torrid platforms (on sale now in limited sizes for $19!) and earrings from one of my favorite makers, Rebs RainbowHaus!

Printed Cropped Jeans in Blast From the Past by Eloquii, Size 24w — Cost to Keep $70.50

Not to be redundant, but have I mentioned lately how much I love Eloquii? They are notorious for marrying vintage-inspired styles with modern cuts, fabrics, and touches. I love these pants, much like most Eloquii pieces I have tried or purchased. My only grievance is I wish the waist line was slightly higher. These jeans made me think of one of my all time favorite shows, Bewitched, so it was fitting I paired these stretchy cropped jeans with a shirt featuring Serena! I topped it off with Torrid jellies for an ultra inspired retro ensemble. Though I took the more casual route, this would look fantastic in an office setting with those same jellies, but with an orange, brown, or pink button down blouse to bring out the colors in the pants.

Printed Linen Short in Go With The Geo by Eloquii, Size 24 — Cost to Keep $75.50

I was excited to receive this top because I reviewed the dress version of this Eloquii piece for Dia & Co. The pattern and color palette is so wonderfully 70s inspired and perfect for summertime. I was hoping to get the matching top with these shorts, but that was a no go, sadly! I usually steer clear of linen materials, but I figured I would give these a go. The shorts are rather comfortable, the fabric is breezy, and there is plenty of room due to the elastic tie waistline. I decided to do a very casusal, easy styling with a Juno Birch t-shirt and fuzzy sandals from ShoeDazzle that I recently reviewed.

Floral Midi Dress by Taylor Dresses, Size 20w — Cost to Keep $43

When I saw the pieces this month, I had a case of de ja vu! I knew I had reviewed this dress before, and sure enough I did back in January for Stitch Fix! When I received it from Stitch Fix, I got it in a 22w, but this time received the 20w. The 20w fits well enough, but I prefer how the 22w looked on me. The sleeves were more dramatic and oversized and the length of the dress hit further down my calves. This dress is not one I would wear in summertime, but I paired it this time with my previously mentioned black platforms from Torrid. The dress has ample stretch and is immensely comfortable to wear. This is a piece worthy of being held onto for the cooler months to be worn with a large brimmed hat, late 60s faux fur style coat, and pointy toe booties for ultimate Stevie Nicks vibes.

Verdict

This month's Gwynnie Bee selections were a fun and interesting mix! This go around had no poor fit issues; everything fit overall. My favorite pieces were obviously the Smak Parlour dress (since I bought it) and the Eloquii retro pants. The dress and Eloquii shorts are great, but I wasn't smitten with them to the point of considering keeping them. That is one reason I am all for being able to rent items from Gwynnie Bee! It allows me to try styles and brands I may never have otherwise. Plus, Gwynnie Bee has some of the best deals and incentives! With every purchase, closeted item, and returned pieces, you accrue member points that can be used to purchase items! These points can add up to either $5, $10, or a $15 discount! I was able to save $5 off of the Smak Parlour dress due to this incentive! Gwynnie Bee also offers a variety of additional sales on at home items, too. I have been reviewing Gwynnie Bee since spring of 2017 and it is one of the subscription services I suggest the most. If I have a friend in between sizes or needing office wear, but with a low budget, Gwynnie Bee is a great option. You can try on pieces and the faster you return them, the sooner you get a new item. In addition, Gwynnie Bee has an outlet that members have access to where you can get even further discounted pre-worn items. I have found so many good deals on there, some pieces as low as nine dollars!

A service like Gwynnie Bee is a great option for someone like myself that has been working from home and laying low during the pandemic, but is slowly attending more social events. I don't frequent malls and often shop online these days. Certainly, I do miss shopping dates with my friends, but I also appreciate the convenience of having amazing fashions delivered right to my doorstep! I don't have to deal with fitting rooms, masking up, slathering myself in hand sanitizer, or driving! I get to have my little try on session all from the comforts of home!

Diane

The dresses look great. Maybe a strategically placed safety pin can help? The pants look fun too.

Thank you, Diane! Possibly! I might check with one of my seamstress friends. Both pieces are great for sure, though!
