Ipsy Glam Bag March 2024 Review

Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. For $14 per month, you get five full-sized or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.

This is one of our top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box — the value and sample sizes are amazing. Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month — so this review is for just one of the bag variations you might receive!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).

First Impressions

I have to say, I applaud Ipsy on their creative bags as of late. The fun colors, textures, and designs have come to be not what I expect, but what I want. While I thought this month's bag may have a nod to St. Patty's day with some green hues, I was pleasantly surprised to find this pastel marbled bag featuring a fun beaded zipper pull. Like I've mentioned in previous reviews, Ipsy was one of my very first subscriptions, and it is still one of my favorites. Each month subscribers receive a makeup bag in addition to their items, and this month features the theme of "Rewrite the Rules", which I feel like they have totally captured with this month's curation.

Also included is a product card that features tips to rewrite our beauty rules, the contents of this month's bag, and a "save the date" card for a puffy mystery bag!

Now, on to the items!

TATCHA The Dewy Skin Cream - Deluxe Mini - Retail Value $23

Tatcha is a brand I am quite familiar with, as I have used the Indigo Overnight Repair treatment in the past. Spendy in price, but amazing in quality, this dewy skin cream is thick, luscious, and hydrating. With just a small amount each night, my skin feels more supple and looks smoother in just a few uses. The light scent makes for a relaxing addition to my nightly skincare routine, and I am really thinking about splurging and buying the full size version.

KOYAL BEAUTY Gentle Gel Face Wash, 10 mL - Estimated Value $3.33

Face wash is a must for me, as I have acne prone skin. Though my daily Leslie Sansone workouts aren't that sweat inducing, if I don't wash my face, I will pay for it the next day. This KOYAL Beauty gel face wash was created with sensitive and dry skin in mind, so the effects are hydrating and gentle. Cruelty free, sulfate free, silicone free, toxin free, paraben free, and fragrance free, this worked up a really nice lather that helped my skin feel fresh and clean. Overall, I was happy with the cleansing results this face wash offered, and was happy to give this brand a try.

BELLAPIERRE COSMETICS Lip Mask in Peach - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $20

Spring is almost here, and with that is the need for pouty, glossy lips. While I don't have much experience with Bellapierre Cosmetics, I did choose this item as my March pick, and couldn't be more happy. At the $14 monthly cost for this subscription, I am always stoked to see one item with a retail value of more than the entire box, and here that item is. Featuring a ripe peach scent and a hydrating glossy shine, this lip mask includes a bit of hyaluronic acid to hydrate lips and give them a bit of a plumping effect. Obviously as a gloss, it needs to be applied throughout the day, but I love the yummy flavor and the pretty look this product provides.

SHADES BY SHAN Life of the Party Vol 1 Eyeshadow Palette - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $20

I've been an avid user of Revlon eyeshadow palettes for years now, and can't seem to find one that has a staying power quite as good... that is, until now! While some may find these neutral tones boring, I absolutely love them - especially the shimmery version. This Shades by Shan eyeshadow seriously has some staying power AND build-ability. With four varying shades, the smokey eye it creates is beautiful, all while being compact and travel friendly. Yay!

PINKY B BEAUTY Dat Gel Eyeliner Tho in style - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $19

The last item I received was this gel eyeliner in a deep brown. As I age, I have sort of given up on eyeliner, as it tends to make a person look older, but I did like the results the brown color gave with just a light smear. The gel formula was easy to glide on, and really had a strong staying power. It also includes a sharpener, to help keep your cat eye look on point. Overall, this was one of the best gel eyeliners I have used in recent years, and am happy to add it to my makeup kit.

Here you can see my skin after a gentle scrub with the KOYAL BEAUTY gel face wash, followed by a layer of TATCHA skin cream. Once dry, I created a smokey eye with the SHADES BY SHAN eyeshadow palette, followed by the PINKY B Beauty Eyeliner.

Verdict

I love Ipsy Glam Bag and always enjoy trying out new beauty products. This month I did take a look at my spoilers, and was super excited to see 3 full-sized items and one deluxe mini! The mix of prestige skincare and makeup products was one of the best I've seen, and at a great price! My favorite items this month were definitely the eyeshadow and skin cream, and with a value of $85.33, you seriously can't go wrong! I am already looking forward to the April curation!

A lip mask isn’t really a lip gloss. While glosses tend to include hydrating ingredients, they are meant to add shine to your lips. A lip mask is meant to be a treatment for your lips and is often worn overnight, although it can also be worn any time. I just wouldn’t conflate the two as was done in this post.

I found this particular lip mask to be one of the best. I have tried dozens, but this one is particularly hydrating and smells terrific. I look forward to using it every night when I go to bed.

I also received the eyeshadow palette, and, while I don’t plan to use it as I don’t care for the shades, I was impressed with the metal case.

I’m pretty sure a face wash is a must for everyone, whether they have acne-prone skin or not.
