First Impressions: Alltrue Box Review, Spring 2024

First Impressions is a series that (re)introduces and reviews new brands to My Subscription Addiction, drawing from readers' requests for an insider's first look. Interested in seeing more reviews from this brand, or have another box in mind that you'd like to see reviewed? Let us know in the comments.

Alltrue is back on MSA!  We haven't reviewed their box in a while due to their temporary closure, but are excited to review them again.

Alltrue is a quarterly subscription that provides a customizable curation of socially conscious lifestyle products.

The Cost: $69.95 per quarter + free shipping within the contiguous USA ($7.95 shipping Canada, Hawaii, Alaska, and US Territories), or $64.95 per box when you sign up for an annual subscription.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

How does Alltrue work?

Each Alltrue box contains 6-8 products.  There are different levels of customization available to their Annual and Seasonal subscribers.

From Alltrue:

Spring Box includes a total of six full size products. Annual members get to customize all six tiers, and Seasonal members get to customize tier two and five. Highest combined MSRP is $300.

I did not customize this box and was given an additional item, noted below.

The box came with a nice booklet showcasing all the box choices. It explains a bit more about each item and also shows the other items available in each category.  While I did see one or two items that I would have chosen if I had been able to customize my box, the curation was good and I'll be using almost all the items.

Editors Note: Unfortunately, this box sold out between the time it was received and publication! However, due to the high demand, Alltrue is currently offering a Spring Welcome Box, which will be available for any new members. This box will contain a selection of new product and past favorites for them to choose from when they customize.

What's Inside The Alltrue Box?

My first Alltrue box appeared slightly scuffed up, but no more so than any normal box.  It may have just been more noticeable on the lovely pattern rather than on a plain boring brown box.

When I opened it, I was happy to see that everything was securely in place and hadn’t shifted at all in transit. The items were displayed nicely and packed securely with minimal packing material needed.

This season's box had 6 categories.

Category 6

Evio Beauty - Tear Catchers Eye Patches (6 Pack) - Retail Value $19

This was the first item that I tried out. When I opened the box, I was happy to see that there were 6 individually packaged pairs of hydrogels - that makes it so easy to pop one in my toiletry kit when I travel.

These seem to be pretty standard hydrogel eye patches. With my sensitive skin, I love that they are fragrance free!  They stayed on well while I went about getting ready in the morning. Other brands that I have tried have a tendency to slide off when upright/walking around.

Category 5

Willow Collective - Cryo Glam Pink Cooling Globes - Retail Value $30

In this little box I found this pair of pink, water and glitter-filled, glass-handled globes for facial rolling. The back of the box had very clear directions and benefits.  Once I unwrapped them they were quite secure nested in a tray within the box, but it seemed a bit clunky for ongoing storage for regular use. I think that a padded storage pouch or lidded box would be most practical.

This is the only item that I didn't love - it's just something that I know I won't use because they aren't very practical for my lifestyle. They should be placed in the freezer for 20 minutes before use, but cannot be stored in the fridge or freezer. Which means I'd have to sit around with a timer and hope not to get interrupted by a kid or a dog.  Which is not very likely.

However, I know some pre-teen girls who would love them!

Category 4

Foxy Originals Gold Teardrop Earrings - Retail Value $32

This is the item I didn’t know I needed. I’ve been wearing diamond studs almost exclusively for the last 20+ years, but have recently wanted a few other pairs of earrings to put in rotation. So this is a beautiful and classic addition, and something Ill wear regularly.

They are also sustainably produced, per the included booklet:

Like all Foxy jewelry, these 14k gold teardrop earrings were handmade locally in Toronto, Canada by a small production team of skilled craftspeople, reducing the brand’s carbon footprint and creating local jobs.

These are a great weight; sturdy, but not heavy. The smooth gold tone is classic, but the curved teardrop shape has a bit of interest. They would go well with just about anything!

Category 3

MYTAGALONGS - Beauty Travel Tube Set, set of 4, 2.7 oz each - Retail Value $24

I don't know what it says about me, but I was super excited for these.  I've tried multiple travel bottles over the years that all have just been fine, but not great.  These check all the boxes: they are slim, but they have a wide mouth that makes filling and cleaning them a breeze. The colors are distinct - no more having to use a Sharpie to write what is in each container.  The almost 3 ounce size is enough for a longer trip while still being TSA compatible. I probably could do without the pouch (which can be repurposed), but only because they fit so well in my travel bag.

Category 2

UpCircle Eye Roller and Eye Cream - Retail Value $35

This category choice is actually two items.  The packaging was intuitive and inviting - I could immediately see they paired together.  I have never used an eye roller before, but loved trying it out.  The roller itself was compact without feeling too small.  It was comfortable in my hand and the metal stayed naturally cool.

The eye cream had a nice scent and beautiful light golden color.  The ingredient list was very clear and had no red flags for someone like me with sensitive skin. I will definitely make this part of my daily routine.

Category 1

Talianna Ombre Glass Wine Tumblers, set of 2 - Retail Value $49

These glasses are beautiful.  They are nice and weighty, but not heavy.  The blue ombre is both bold and subtle at the same time.

I was unfamiliar with the brand, but the booklet states:

A set of two created by another set of two. Talianna is a collaboration between mother-daughter duo Talia and Anna, who started her first business in 2002 with her mother and grandmother. We love a long line of female founders.

I understand why they sent 2, but I'm not a big fan of that quantity - I always prefer a set of four.  Fortunately there was a card in the box with a QR code directly to the website if I wanted to buy another matching or coordinating set.  Which leads me to wonder if this color was made exclusively for Alltrue - on public websites I was only able to find them in Plum.

I like these glasses, and they are gorgeous, but I don’t know if I would have picked them knowing I have plenty of wine glasses. But they’ll get used - I'm thinking for sangria in the summer.

Bonus Item

SiiZU - Cozy Poncho Wrap (Gray Stripe) - Retail Value $110

This is so cozy!!!  It is a long, fringed, split front poncho style wrap sweater.  The fabric was so soft and absolutely gorgeous neutral shades of cream and light/medium grey. I love that the box could include a clothing item, by picking something that is truly one size fits most.

For me, this would be an ideal travel item. It easily dresses up jeans or leggings, and can double as a blanket. It’s the perfect cross between a sweater and a scarf.  I'm 5’-6", and I had everyone in the family try it on, and it really works well for any height. They all commented on how soft it is.  However, I have not shown it to my mom yet because I have a feeling she might try to keep it for herself!

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $69.95 per quarter + free shipping within the contiguous USA ($7.95 shipping Canada, Hawaii, Alaska, and US Territories), or $64.95 per box when you sign up for an annual subscription.

The Alltrue Spring 2024 Box contains 6 items (I'm not including the bonus item). This subscription states a value up to $250+ in value per box, and for this season up to $300.  My items added up to a total of $189 (once again, not including the bonus item), which is still over 2.5 times the cost of the box!

Math aside, IT'S SO WORTH IT. This subscription is a great value. It is a well-balanced mix of beauty, home decor, and practical items, as well as wearables.  Everything is of high quality, and I like knowing that I can feel good about supporting all the brands represented in the box, most of which I hadn’t heard of before.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, this box sold out while it was in transit. However, due to the high demand, Alltrue is currently offering a Spring Welcome Box, which will be available for any new members. This box will contain a selection of new product and past favorites for them to choose from when they customize.

I just received my Spring Alltrue box and I am so impressed from the presentation to the quality. The customization process was a breeze as well. I would definitely recommend this quarterly box. Already looking forward to my next one!

I absolutely won’t give Alltrue another dime, no matter what kind of discount they offer me to come back. Other potential subscribers should be warned about this company.

I canceled my subscription (didn’t renew) right before everyone started being cheated out of their boxes, and I know how lucky I was. At the time I canceled because the “seasonal” boxes always arrived after the season was over, and that was irritating. Then everything blew up and vendors and customers were cheated out of their money. Subscribers didn’t get the boxes they had paid for, and the small companies didn’t get paid for their merchandise. As I remember it, alltrue continued to accept new subscriptions even after they knew they couldn’t/wouldn’t ship the purchases.

I’m actually surprised to know Alltrue is actually allowed to stay in business.

It’s so weird how all the comments a few days ago were negative, and now the comment section is flooded with positivity. It’s almost like Alltrue heard about it and sent some people over to make positive comments. Hmmmm.

Rachel

Super weird, right? But I’m sure all the positive comments are Alltrue. Haha.

Really happy I gave Alltrue another try. I’ve been loving the products lately! I have a friend who asks for a box every year for her birthday and I can’t wait to watch her open the Spring Box (although I may keep the earrings for myself lol!)

Back from ashes! They had a rough stretch there and now bringing back the goods! I’m glad alltrue is back to share all the good things in the world. Resubbed at the start of the year and pleased with the Spring box. Everyone deserves a second chance so I’m glad they are making the most of theirs!

I gifted a year of these boxes to my mother-in-law last year, perfect gift for that one person you never know what to get! It’s fun seeing her use the different home/kitchen items she has received when we visit for dinner.

I love my Alltrue subscription, and I’m so happy they’re back! They went through a tough time, but they are working with a lot of the same brands I got in my past boxes and shopping orders, so they clearly worked things out. Their subscription stands out from the rest, and I love knowing I’m helping small businesses and learning about cool products. 10/10 would recommend!

Yes. I loved sharing Alltrue and gifted a year subscription to a friend. She was also cheated out of a paid for box. Things there were great until they weren’t. Hope new subscribers have continued good luck. I was a subscriber for several years, 2 subscriptions for me and the one I gifted a friend. Things were great, then without warning, they shut down. This was in March after a huge subscription blitz to “lock in the price for a year” in February. All I can say here is beware!

I’m a newer Alltrue member and LOVE this box. The quality of the products is really amazing and I use so many of items weekly — if not daily. My recent faves are the plush checkered throw blanket (on my bed at all times) & the wooden petal trays. Their customer service is also top notch!

SO happy Alltrue is back! While I’ve always loved receiving my boxes (and sharing in the joy of my favorite products with my sister), I’ve loved finding out about the smaller brands they partner with, and supporting sustainable causes, even more! It also makes the PERFECT gift.

So happy Alltrue is back. Received my Spring box and the product is quality and well worth what I paid. I’m excited to see what’s to come in the future! The curation of product is perfect for me!

I’m excited to see Alltrue back. I resubscribed back in December, and really enjoyed my Spring Box. I’ve been using my wine glasses and have found my other items fun and useful.

Disappointed to see this box being reviewed after all the trouble, after ripping their customers off.

Pretty disappointing and distasteful to review this box after they stiffed both their customers and their vendors. The “new” owners are business partners with the previous owners, and they did not care to try to make things right.

Very disappointed to see this box being reviewed again after all the damage they caused. So many people were ripped off by this company. They handled things terribly, screwing over their loyal customers. I just can’t trust them again.

Emily

Totally agree with Rebecca. This company is so shady. They handled the comeback from bancrupcy in the shadiest way possible. They still owe me three boxes, and nothing was more insulting than getting a small discount code to purchase a box I’d already paid for. As if lol. Do not trust these people with your money!! I was a long time annual member, but they made sure their most loyal customers were also the most screwed. There were far better ways they could have handled it. But now I’ll warn people away from them forever.

Disappointed to see a review for Alltrue on this site. This company solicited members with a special price in February, then closed in March. They cheated vendors (some had to close because of the financial hit) and refused to honor the past, paid for subscriptions. Many folks were left out in the cold, and others had to wrangle with their credit card companies. They then had the nerve to offer the box subscribers were due (and had paid for) at a specially reduced price. This could have been handled so much better! This company deserves no money and certainly no reviews!

Sorry to see this box being reviewed after the fiasco of them shutting down and refusing to honor paid for subscriptions. Totally could have handled in transparent and equitable manner, yet chose to stiff vendors and customers. Bad businesses don’t deserve reviews or money!
