First Impressions

Everything comes neatly packaged and wrapped with tissue paper, sealed with a sticker. Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type, so be sure to figure out your skin type first (I can't believe how long I thought I had oily skin!). Also, PinkSeoul has now switched to electronic info sheets, sent to your email when your box ships. I always get a little excited when I rip the tissue paper/sticker to see what comes in my box - the extra step with the packaging really adds to the overall experience.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside The Box

Aronyx Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Eye Cream, 40 mL - Retail Value $7.60

Aronyx is a lesser-known affordable K-Beauty brand, and I've tried more than a few of their products. This eye cream was very solid for me - it had a nice texture that wasn't too heavy and it easily absorbed into the delicate skin around my eyes, but it had enough weight to it that I felt like the skin was more moisturized after I applied it. It's made with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, panthenol, and shea butter, and it didn't cause any burning to my sensitive eyes.

Aronyx D-Panthenol Cica Repair Cream, 50 mL - Retail Value $9.40

Off the bat, I will admit I was disappointed this moisturizer is in a bright green tube, but only because I was hoping for duo chrome packaging like the box it came in! This is a midweight-to-slightly heavy moisturizer that utilizes panthenol, niacinamide, centella asiatica, and beeswax, and I liked applying it at night as the last step in my evening skincare routine. Both panthenol and centella are great ingredients for soothing skin, which makes this moisturizer right up my sensitive skin alley.

Mary & May Rose Hyaluronic Hydra Wash off Pack, 30 g - Retail Value $9.90

I love when I get a clay mask that isn't drying, and that was my experience with this Mary & May rose mask. It's made with kaolin and bentonite clays, but it also has french rose petals, damask rose water, fig extract, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, and ceramide NP. I applied it after cleansing and wore it for about ten minutes while taking a bath, and it never fully dried on my skin (which, to me, is a good thing). When I rinsed it away I thought that my skin was left soft and refreshed with no residual redness, and this is a mask that would be easy to incorporate into a once-a-week skincare rotation (plus, I love how reasonably priced it is).

Round Lab 1025 Dodo Toner, 100 mL - Retail Value $12.70

Toners used to be my jam but, if we are being honest with each other, they have really fallen out of my routine - especially if it doesn't come in a spray bottle. This one is made with red algae, sugarcane extract, and deep sea water to keep your skin hydrated and give it a boost of antioxidants and minerals. It has a very thin, watery texture that absorbs super quickly into the skin, and it was a good base for me to apply a hyaluronic acid serum on top of.

Tony Moly Wonder Ceramide Mochi Water Cream,  300 mL - Retail Value $18

I am quite a fan of the Wonder Ceramide Mochi line from Tony Moly - I find the products to be gentle, hydrating, and good performers for their respective price point. This gel-cream moisturizer is packed with ceramides, centella asiatica, and aloe for a super hydrating experience that isn't heavy or greasy. This is nice on my face, but I've started to use it as an all-over moisturizer on my neck, decolletage, and arms because the jar is so big.

Mizon Joyful Time Essence Mask, 5 ct - Retail Value $16.50 ($3.30 each)

It's rare I come across a sheet mask I haven't tried before, but that's exactly what we have here. We received five variations in rose, vitamin, green tea, hyaluronic acid, and aloe. I love anything rose-related so that's the first mask I reached for, and I am happy to report the mask has a faint rose scent that is pleasant without being overpowering. The masks are made of a soft material with a touch of stretch that allows them to hug the curves of my face, and they are well-saturated in hydrating essence. While each mask is slightly different, all of them were hydrating to my skin and fun to use.

Key Takeaways

I thought this month's box from PinkSeoul was another good box. I was really happy to see five sheet masks inside (normally we get two or three), and I like that this box was focused on soothing, hydrating products and there weren't any exfoliants (I've been taking a break from them and my skin is happy I did). If you like receiving full-size products and discovering K-Beauty products, then this is a subscription box you should seriously consider checking out - I always have fun every two months when this arrives at my door.

The Round Lab product is actually called Dokdo Toner, it’s a land mass/island chain disputed amongst Korea and Japan. There’s a lot of politics and history tied up there.
