First Impressions

Beauty Heroes contents arrived in its usual white box, with a logo sticker enclosing it.

For November we're treated to two products by Mukti Skincare, a naturally organic brand founded by a beauty therapist and cosmetic formulator (named Mukti) from Australia. All Mukti offerings are free from synthetic chemicals or processes, non-GMO, and quality driven with science backing it. Info about the spotlight brand and its featured products is in the usual folded card that's included, plus a suggested idea for working these skincare formulas into a routine with past Beauty Heroes products.

The Products

Mukti Queen of the Night Crème, 50 mL - Retail Value $88

Face cream: always need it, use it every day. Love receiving it. And as we all know, it just makes sense to cycle through skincare products of various depths and weights as the seasons rotate. Which is why this thick, mega-hydrating night creme has snuck in at the exact perfect time, the time when the heat is kicking in on my neck of the woods. My face is parched. My hands are also treated by what's left on them after massaging this Queen of the Night Creme in. It's nothing short of glorious.

I feel quite honored to be in on this creme in my mid-30s, as it's especially recommended for "mature" skin. I have no idea whether my skin is mature or not—is it?—but the Ceramide complex, plant-based Stem Cells, and naturally-occurring antioxidants in this hydrating cream are the lifting, plumping, firming, strengthening powerhouses I want in my life.

Always an enjoyer of rose scents, the absolute blast of rose that comes out of this jar is an immeasurable treat. It sets the "queen" vibe impeccably. The wooden creme-getter is a delightful touch, though so far I've just dunked my fingers into the jar when I'm ready to apply. Listen, we've been sent some pretty grand moisturizing face serums and creams in the recent past through this sub, but none have made my face still feel soft when I wake up in the morning. This is a little pot of magic. Big fan. (But perhaps those with oily skin should be aware of just how rich it is.)

Mukti Age Defiance Eye Serum, 15 mL - Retail Value $82

Once your face creme is in place, the next step is to apply a couple pumps of this anti-wrinkle eye serum. It's a lightweight serum with chamomile notes, and a notable earthy aroma to it, which balances the floral burst of the night creme nicely. While the creme is definitely a night cream with its intensely spa-like moisturizing situation, this eye serum is one you can use morning and night. Those signs of aging around the eyes are met with tetrapeptide eyeseryl's ability to smooth tone and hexapaptide ergireline's ability to firm skin. It's pumped up with bioactive ingredients native to Australia, like extracts of Davidson plum (antioxidants!) and emu apple (moisture preserving!).

It's recommended to spot test this serum to ensure skin compatibility. I found it to be quite gentle. Texture wise, there's a sort of yin and yang going on between the two Mukti products we were sent, and they work beautifully together. (They work beautifully on their own, too.)

Verdict

November's anti-aging focus is a pure joy, bringing us the ultra-moisturizing, floral ka-pow of a night creme and a powerful blend of botanicals in its eye serum. The science of plants in a jar and a bottle. My skin has been positively radiant.

The Beauty Heroes subscription costs $58.95. This box contained $170 worth of high-quality skincare. The value is undeniable, and holding these products in my hands and using them on my face makes it feel worth every penny and then some.
