Trendmood is an Instagram account that has amassed a 1.5 million+ following for breaking the latest beauty news since 2012. Since the first-ever Trendmood Box was released in mid-December 2019, most boxes released have sold out quickly.

This review is for Trendmood Box Volume 20, which is no longer available.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Each Trendmood Box comes inside a signature purple box, with the products inside wrapped in tissue paper and a layer of bubble wrap at the bottom. This box doesn't come with an info sheet, but there's a sticker on the lid of the box with a QR code you can scan for more information about the products inside. All of the products come in their original packaging, which is great if you want to break up the contents for gifting.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside The Trendmood Volume 20 Box

Farsali Reset Renewal Fluid Cream, 30 mL - Retail Value $39

This moisturizer has a great lightweight texture that still feels really moisturizing to my skin. It’s described as a serum-cream and almost feels sticky when I am first rubbing it in, but then that settles and my skin is soaking up the vitamin C, niacinamide, 10 peptides, and 5 different ceramides that this moisturizer has to offer. This would be a great morning moisturizer on hotter says because it’s hydrating without being heavy.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Sculpt Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara, 0.34 oz - Retail Value $26

I honestly had no idea ABH made a mascara! This isn’t going to replace my favorites, but I thought it was really solid and did a good job providing length and volume to my lashes without getting clumpy.

Thrive Causemetics Impact-Full™ Semi-Permanent Smoothing Lipstick in Jessica,  0.13 oz - Retail Value $26

I was pleasantly surprised to see that this lipstick and I share a name! Jessica is a raspberry red shade and this formula is very creamy. It’s designed to smooth visible lip lines thanks to their  Line-Refine Hydrating Complex™, and I love how moisturizing the formula is for a bold-colored lipstick.  I also really like the slim packaging, which keeps the lipstick secure until you push the button on the top- no accidental lipstick caps falling off in your purse here!

Thrive Causemetics The Infinity Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Lauren, 0.5 mL - Retail Value $22

If I am using eyeliner, nine times out of ten it’s a black liquid eyeliner. Then pen style of this makes it really easy for me to line close to my lash line as thin (or thick) as I want, and the pointy felt tip helps achieve a sharp wing. I appreciate that, while waterproof, it didn’t take a huge amount of effort to wash it away.

Here it is swatched above the lipstick.

RMS Beauty ReDimension Hydra Powder Blush in Mai Tai, 0.25 oz - Retail Value $35

I have been seeing this blush in quite a few videos online, and even though I almost never use blush I was still excited to get this in the box. Mai Tai is described as a “sunlit, citrusy coral,” and it has flecks of gold pigment in it that give it a lustrous, glowing finish on the skin. It’s buildable, too, so I was able to go in with a light hand applying it (which is much more my blush style).

Zitsticka Killa Acne Extra Strength Microdart Patches, 4 ct - Retail Value $18

I’m a big fan of these microdart patches from Zitsticka- they’re very handy to have around! These aren’t your typical pimple patches that you apply to whiteheads to soak up gunk. Rather, they’re designed for those under the skin pimples in the very beginning stages and the microdarts deliver salicylic acid to the pimple to help treat it. I’ve had good results using these too- sometimes they’ve brought under-the-skin pimples to a head and other times the pimple never finished forming and just went away! As soon as you start to feel a pimple developing developing you want to apply one of these bad boys for best results.

Kopari The Sun Shield Body Glow SPF 50, 5 oz - Retail  Value $42

This seemed to be *the* sunscreen product of the summer, and I can see why. It’s a body gel-turned-oil that gives your skin a beautiful shimmer while also providing SPF 50 protection. I am able to use sunscreens that I am allergic to on my face on my body without issue, so the chemical filters in this are great for applying to shoulders, collarbones, legs, and anywhere else you have exposed skin.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $46 + free shipping (and a total value of $208)

  • TC Eyeliner: $22 → $4.86
  • RMS Beauty: $35 → $7.74

Everything in the box adds up to $208, which is more than quadruple the cost of the box!

Key Takeaways

This was my first Trendmood box in a while, and I thought it was absolutely fantastic. I love that all of the products were full-size and that the box featured some new product launches as well as some much-loved favorites. The value is super hard to beat, with the value of the products worth more than four times what I paid for it. This box was a good deal full of great brands and fun products to try, and I am looking forward to Volume 21 which will feature the new Anastasia Beverly Hills palette!

I got this Trendmood Box. I had a few favorites and few passes. I did not like the Sun protection gel the smell of coconut way too stron and stickiness – I gifted to a coworkers, which was disappointing with a price point of $42. I do not need the pimple patches so those got gifted as well. What I loved was the Anastasia mascara, it is great on lower lashes. The Thrive eyeliner is very precise, and I needed it for upper lashes, the RMS blush is way to shimmery and cool for me it is beautiful, but it’s not even working as a highlighter. The Thrive lipstick is pretty, but drying, but how cool is the case with a push button. The winner for me is the Farsali cream. The reason I went for this box is I was OUT of eyeliner, mascara and face cream. These all worked out well. I love the mixture of skin care and makeup. This has become my only box to subscribe to.
