First Impressions

Box for Nourish Beauty Box October 2023

Each month, Nourish Beauty Box usually arrives in a box with an info card that has a quick overview of the box on one side and more detailed information about the products included on the other.

This month’s products came with a rather unique packaging situation. Everything was packed in a square box, with an unusually large product sitting on top of the subscription’s signature rectangular box. The large product was quite an exciting surprise, so now I’m even more excited to see what else has been included this time around.

Now, on to the items!

NOURISH NATURALS Creamy Vegan Lip and Cheek Stain in Red Spice, 2 g - Retail Value $22.00

The signature Nourish Naturals product of choice this month is the Creamy Vegan Lip and Cheek Stain in Red Spice. The shade has a darker reddish tint to it that’s actually quite pretty and not a bad match for my skin tone. As a lip color, it’s great for nailing the occasional dramatic look. As always, I’m a fan of the product’s formula, which contains both shea and kokum butters, along with marshmallow root extract, for ultimate hydration. The stain doesn’t leave behind any greasy or sticky texture, which I truly appreciate. However, due to the ultra-moisturizing properties of the formula, as a blush, this doesn’t work as well for someone with slightly oily skin like myself. Instead, you might experience a little slip and slide action. But hey, when it comes to the lips, this stain is like a hydrating oasis, and the formula is truly soothing to my dry, chapped lips, creating a spa day for your smackers.

SERAPHINE BOTANICALS Hydrating Facial Mist, 10 ml - Retail Value $24.00

Okay, now, Seraphine Botanicals is coming in clutch with their Rose + Coconut Water Hydrating Facial Mist. Although it’s a tiny bottle, the product inside packs a punch, and it’s legit my skin’s BFF as of late. The mist is incredibly refreshing and leaves my face looking brighter and more buoyant. I appreciate the amount of product that is released from each spritz, and a little goes a long way.

As someone sensitive to scents, and especially not the biggest fan of rose, in particular, I didn’t detect much more than a slight hint in the air after spraying this mist onto my face. After a few seconds, it vanishes as though it were never even there. Plus, the formula is super gentle on my skin. It’s a true golden ticket for refreshed and hydrated skin this fall, just as the weather begins to turn crisp.

KALEIDO COSMETICS Dreamlust Pore-Refining Dewy Primer, 20 ml - Retail Value $12.00

I’m someone who swears by primer when it comes to my everyday makeup routine. This Dreamlust Pore-Refining Dewy Primer from Kaleido Cosmetics is pure magic. Want to hide those pesky pores? Consider it done. This stuff almost works like a real-life filter for your face, prepping your skin like a smooth canvas that’s ready for some makeup artistry. But guess what? If you’re looking for a more natural look, rock this primer alone for a dewy goddess vibe.

Filled with powerful ingredients like pro-vitamin B5, sea kelp, and jambu flower extract, this primer is basically a hydration party for your skin that strikes an even balance for just the right amount of moisture. Thanks to the product’s water-based formula, you don’t have to worry about any cakey makeup fails and instead can face every day with a ‘just back from vacay’ look. A must-have for my makeup arsenal.

BLOSSOM ESSENTIALS Moisture Restore Lotion, 240 ml - Retail Value $30.00

Finally, here is the true standout of this month’s curation. This product is huge! An unusual but welcome surprise for this subscription. This is legit a moisturizing ninja, which is quite on theme with the rest of the products in this box. I was low-key skeptical when I first applied this to my skin because it soaked in faster than I expected. By the time I looked down, the product had completely absorbed, leaving my skin feeling softer than my bunny’s silky-smooth fur; no scaly patches left in sight.

This Blossom Essentials Moisture Restore Lotion is a game-changer for my skin. Rather than sitting atop the skin’s surface, this product dives in and gets the job done. The problem spots on my knees and albows? Soothed and improved! Plus, the lotion is lightweight enough for daytime use (even in warmer weather), and it doesn’t give any pore-clogging, thick, creamy vibes that some lotions have. Now, if this had the added benefit of SPF, it would be the absolute perfect product, but in any case, it’s a keeper.

Verdict

This was a great month for Nourish Beauty Box! The highlight for me was Blossom Essentials Moisture Restore Lotion, which tackles any dry, scaly patches, leaving my skin soft and hydrated. A definite game-changer even for my toughest dry spots. The primer from Kaleido Cosmetics has a lovely water-based formula that creates a smooth canvas for your makeup without drying it out, eliminating the chance of that cakey foundation look. Seraphine Botanicals hydrating mist is so refreshing, and a little goes a long way. It’s the skincare secret weapon I didn’t know I needed until I experienced the hydrating formula.

Lastly, the Nourish Naturals lip and cheek stain in Red Spice. The red shade is a whole vibe, and although it’s not for my everyday look, it’s just the thing for when I want a bit of ‘drama’ in my life. It’s a no-go as a blush for me, but for my lips, it’s a game-changer. Still always holding out for a built-in applicator, though. Overall, I thought this was an awesome box. The product variation was excellent, and quite heavy on the skincare, which is just how I like it. Plus, the value is there.
