Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. When you sign up, you take an in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and your pricing preferences. After choosing when you’d like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Fix may be completely different.

First Impressions

Let's take a look at this month's selections, shall we?

What's Inside This Month's Fix

Amber Knit Midi Wrap Dress by Nine Britton, Size 3x — Retail Value $54.00

A black dress is a great staple piece to have in one's wardrobe. This black dress offers enough coverage on the straps so I don't have to wear a strapless bra, wish I ALWAYS love! I absolutely love the tie-like feature at the midsection and how it looks curtain-eqsue. The fabric is kind of like a stretchy tank/muscle shirt material-- it is super comfortable. This piece is certainly ideal for the summer time, but I can easily envision wearing it in the cooler weather months. This would look fantastic with fishnets, stacked platform boots, and a neon mesh animal print mock turtle neck top for a bit of color. Add big statement earrings and faux leather biker jacket if it is chilly for extra sass. I wanted to add some color and patterns to this simple, but elegantly sexy, black dress. I paired it with checkered hoop earrings from Fairly Odd Shop and dELiA*s  Petal Pixie PVC Heels.

Kim Front Tie Detail Blouse by Kaileigh, Size 2x-Retail Value $40.00

I told my stylist, Jami, that I would love more pieces in pinks, greens, oranges, and yellows that had a retro twist. She certainly listened with the remaining selections. The beauty of this top is that it is a solid color and can be worn with a variety of styles and fashions. The bow tie is a nice feature that cuts out the monotony of the blouse and adds extra personality. The fabric has some stretch and is easy to wear. This will look great paired with everything from bike shorts and Crocs while running errands or with dress pants or a pencil skirt for the office. If I were still in the office, I would be pairing this with some leopard print cigarette pants or capris and platforms for a professional, yet funky ensemble. I love this top paired with the Beyond Yoga shorts, Pink Mega Crush Croc Sandals, and Blush Daisy earrings for an outfit baby NAR in the early 90s would have only dreamed about!

Gabriela High Waisted Performance Biker Short by Beyond Yoga, Size 3x, — Listed Value $62

Jami included these incredibly soft and comfortable bike shorts from Beyond Yoga. I was kind of put off by the $62 price tag, but I was tremendously impressed by the quality of these shorts. I essentially living in bike shorts through out the summer with a t-shirt and Crocs. No muss, no fuss. I know I am covered well and can sit however I prefer-- I am a huge fan! I also wear these under dresses to reduce chub rub for my tender thunder thighs. You also can work out in these as well. Did I mention how much I love the Kelley Green shade? I have so many different bike shorts, but I do regret not adding these cuties to the ever growing collection. I dressed these up a bit with the Kim Front Tie Blouse by Kaileigh to show you can rock active wear in a variety of ways!

Mila Maxi Skirt by Daniel Rainn, Size 3x, — Listed Value $49

This skirt is so colorful and reminds me of something my middle school art teacher would have worn in the 90s! This maxi shirt certainly makes a bold and unapologetically fun statement! Since my stylist sent me bright and vivid Kaileigh brand blouse, I opted to style it with my matching Crocs, earrings from Reb's Rainbow Haus, and a Smiley bag from Blush Daisy. Go big or go home, am I right? The styling is reminiscent of my friend, Nichole's, effervescently wild, artsy, thrift store queen style. If you want to tone things down, that is okay too! Pair these with your favorite sandals, black t-shirt, and large brimmed hat with equally large sunnies for a more refined, yet casual ensemble.

Tiered Woven Cami by Sanctuary, Size 2x  — Retail Value $69

Finally, we have this gorgeous watercolor flower cami from Sanctuary. I don't know why, but when I saw this top, I suddenly had an inexplicable hankering for some Skittles. When you wear this, you might not taste the rainbow, but you will be wearing it instead! As excited as I was to try this cami on, I discovered that it could not go over my ample chest. An absolute no go, unless I wanted to destroy this piece. So very sad! If it had fit, I would have worn it with the Beyond Yoga shorts for sure or possibly the pink skirt or pants Jami selected for me back in my April Stitch Fix review. If you want something less loud, this will look brilliant with jean shorts or pants, wooden platform sandals, and hot pink heart shaped sunglasses! So many adorable looks--- such a shame I couldn't model this one for yinz!

The Verdict

This month's Stitch Fix had some awesome pieces! Jami sent some very bold and vibrant pieces for our hot summer days! I was excited to see so much orange, pink, and green! I didn't keep any items this go around due to some fit issues and trying to be financially responsible. Upon returning Jami's selections, I made sure to provide ample feedback on my opinions on the style and fit of each item to my stylist. I truly can't emphasize how crucial it is to provide that information on subscription sites. Always provide feedback! Not only do I provide direct feedback, but I also "bookmark" or list pieces as favorites on the site for further direction. My stylists have sent bookmarked items to me in the past, so I always take the time to explore the site for possible dream pieces!

Not to risk sounding like a broken record, but I also can't encourage enough that you provide your Pinterest and Instagram links. These will be great assets to your stylist; you are providing visuals on your style, body shape, and preferences on how to adorn and decorate your body. This all makes it a much easier task for your stylist to create your absolute dream fix! An additional plus is that you have the ability to personally select pieces for your Stitch Fix as well! Each month after providing my feedback and my my next box date is selected, I am given the option to choose five of the pieces from a dozen or so my stylist selects. I love this feature because it allows me to tailor the box myself.

This is a great option if you are a self proclaimed shop-aholic! Were you also aware that Stitch Fix now allows you to shop on their site for clothing items, accessories, foundation garments, and also shoes without getting a monthly Stitch Fix sent to you? This is ideal if you aren't interested in getting a monthly Fix. You can check out their site and buy their in-house brands outright! With all these ways to enjoy Stitch Fix, you can't lose!

Can you still get these pieces if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This personal styling service has a $20 styling fee with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $296.00. The cost of each item is listed alongside it, above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $185.50 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s about a 31% discount!

The black wrap dress looks phenomenal on you! I love it. The pink front wrap top is also lovely and I really like it with the tropical maxi skirt! Great review! I think the ties are such a nice refreshing design aspect.
