Petit Vour is a monthly vegan beauty subscription box. It’s a great box if you’re looking to try out new vegan and/or natural beauty products.

There are two subscription options to choose from. The base Petit Vour box is $18.00 per month and the Petit Vour Plus box is $25.00 per month.

This is a review of the $18.00 per month box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

When you open the box, the first thing you find is the information sheet, which lists the products included, their values, and a quick blurb about what they do. After that, you can always expect to find four products safely nestled inside the box waiting for you to enjoy.

Each month comes with an info sheet, and the other side of the info sheet always features a new art print.

The Breakdown - What's Inside My July 2022 Petit Vour Box

Highborn Defume Anointing Oil, 2 mL – Estimated Value $8 (buy the 10 mL version for $40)

This was a fun perfume oil—I love the attention to detail that was evident by the included black tourmaline stones to make applying this oil more of a ritual rather than just part of a routine. The scent is a mix of palo santo and sandalwood so it had a deep earthiness to it that I enjoyed but won’t be loved by everyone, and it had an impressive staying power that lasted all day when I applied it to the pulse points on my wrist.

Corpus N° Green Natural Deodorant, 1.2 oz – Estimated Value $11.07 (buy the 2.6 oz version for $24)

Corpus makes natural, baking soda-free deodorants that use enzymes and plant extracts to reduce body odor. N° Green has a scent blend of orange blossom, pink lemon, bergamot, and cardamon, and its pleasantly citrus without being too strong. It didn’t irritate the sensitive skin under my arms, and while I prefer an antiperspirant for days I know I will be sweating heavily, this will do the job nicely on days I want to feel fresh and do not expect to have a lot of exertion.

Goldfaden MD Wakeup Call, 12 mL – Estimated Value $24 (buy the 15 mL version for $30)

Goldfaden MD appears pretty frequently in Petit Vour, but I haven’t had a product repeat from the brand yet! Wakeup Call is an overnight facial treatment designed to deeply hydrate your skin while it goes to work on improving the appearance of fine lines and age spots. It’s formulated with peptides, Retinyl Palmitate, caffeine, copper ferment, CoQ-10, hyaluronic acid, and squalene, and it did leave my face feeling moisturized when I applied it before bed. I would need to use it consistently over a period of months to see if this really could make a difference in facial lines, but I appreciate that it didn’t irritate my skin and left it feeling soft.

Athr Beauty The Big Bang Mascara – Retail Value $28

This is quite a nice mascara! Athr Beauty is one of those brands I always lust over just because their branding is always so on point, so I am pretty happy we got a full-size mascara from them in this month’s box. The formula of this mascara is more “wet” (I don’t know how else to describe it- some mascaras are more wet, and some are more dry than others) than others I have tried, but I didn’t experience any issues with smudging. This mascara really gave a good bit of length and definition to my lashes without any clumping, and depending on how you hold the wand the wand will aim to give your lashes more volume or more defined length. It’s formulated with castor oil, black diamond powder, and jasmine extract, and it lasted all day for me without any smearing or flaking.

Here it is on.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $18

Cost Breakdown:

  • Highborn: $8 → $2.03
  • Corpus: $11.07 → $2.80
  • Goldfaden MD: $24 → $6.08
  • Athr Beauty: $28 → $7.09

Everything in the box adds up to $71.07, which is awesome for an $18 box that sends exclusively vegan beauty products. Alternatively, each of the 4 items has an average cost of $4.50.

Key Takeaways

This was a lovely box from Petit Vour. While we only received one full-size item this month, the mascara was definitely a winner (especially considering that alone retails for $10 more than the cost of the entire subscription. I thought the concept of the Highborn oil had a unique flair compared to your standard perfume oil, and both the Goldfaden MD and Corpus products worked well for me. Petit Vour does a good job of sending out well-rounded boxes with nice values for under $20, and I appreciate the effort they put in each month (it never feels like filler products have been put in my box the way it can with other subscriptions). If you try to focus on vegan beauty products (or have a friend who does), this is definitely a box you want to check out.
