First Impressions

Everything comes neatly packaged and wrapped with tissue paper, sealed with a sticker. Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type, so be sure to figure out your skin type (I can't believe how long I thought I had oily skin!). Also, PinkSeoul has now switched to electronic info sheets, sent to your email when your box ships. I always get a little excited when I rip the tissue paper/sticker to see what comes in my box - the extra step with the packaging really adds to the overall experience.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside The Box

Aronyx Oil to Foam Cleanser, 200 mL - Retail Value $20

I prefer gel cleansers to foam cleansers because a lot of the foaming cleansers end up drying my skin out, and this cleanser from Aroynx seems to be the best of both worlds. It starts off as a thick gel that emulsifies and starts to get foamy as soon as you add a little water. This was gentle on my skin and didn't leave it feeling dry at all, and it did a nice job of removing light makeup.

VT Cica Smoother Gel, 300 mL - Retail Value $19

This is a multipurpose soothing gel that can be used wherever your skin needs a little extra love. It's made with hyaluronic acid, Centella Asiatica (cica), and multiple derivatives of the soothing herb, propolis extract, and aloe. This would be great on top of a sunburn, but it also would be nice as a sleeping mask or on a scratch. Another way I like to use this is to apply a thick layer to my face, and leave it on as a face mask for twenty minutes or so before washing it off.

Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner, 200 mL - Retail Value $19

Anytime a full-size Benton product appears in a subscription box I feel like a winner, especially if it's from their much-loved aloe BHA line. This is formulated with snail mucin, aloe vera, and salicylic acid, and this is a really gentle exfoliating toner that is hydrating at the same time. This is one of those products I would pay full price for, so I am really happy to have received it in this box.

The Plant Base Time Stop Peptide Eye Cream, 30 mL - Retail Value $22

The Plant Base is a brand I discovered through subscription boxes, and I really tend to enjoy their products. This eye cream is nice- the formula has peptides and niacinamide, and it is designed to be used anywhere you want to target signs of aging (so all over your face, if you'd like- not just your eyes). The texture is lightweight and has a slight yellow color to it, and it didn't leave a sticky residue behind. While I don't have too many signs of aging on my face right now, I love applying eye cream to both my eyes and the corners of my mouth- I don't have wrinkles there, but I do have issues with dryness that will cause my lips to crack. I have been trying everything I could think of, but it wasn't until I applied eye cream to the sides of my mouth that I started seeing noticeable results, fast. It may sound weird but it has been working for me, and now I see eye creams in a brand new light.

Mamonde Chamomile Pure Toner, 25 mL - Retail Value $2.40

This is a toner made for sensitive skin. It only has six ingredients, including chamomile, panthenol, glycerin, and water. The limited ingredients list is designed to minimize the risk of the toner containing products your skin may be allergic to, and I found this to be a very gentle, hydrating toner.

Some By Mi Real Glutathione Brightening Care Mask - Retail Value $2.63 and Some By Mi Real AHA BHA PHA Calming Care Mask - Retail Value $2.63

I've used these sheet masks before, and I like them because they are a little wider than your standard sheet mask so they reach the edges of my face. Even though these have slightly different featured ingredients, once the sheet mask was on my face I couldn't actually tell the difference between the two. My skin was hydrated and glowing when I removed each mask, so I consider these both to be wins.

Dog and Fox Socks

PinkSeoul always includes an accessory item in their bi-monthly box and this time around it's these cute socks. I can't seem to keep enough socks around, so I was happy to see these in the box- especially such cute ones! I'm not sure which pair I think is cute, the dog or the fox- what do you think?

Key Takeaways

This month's box from PinkSeoul was great. I loved receiving the Benton toner, and I already know that the eye cream from The Plant Base is lovely. The cleanser worked really well for me, and I love all products made with cica so the smoothing gel was a winner too. In a subscription box, every item will not be a winner every single month, but this month seems to have been the exception for me. If you like receiving full-size products and discovering K-Beauty products, then this is a subscription box you should seriously consider checking out - I always have fun every two months when this arrives at my door.

Is it me or is the quality of these boxes going down? I’ve been subscribed for some time *I’m about to receive the August box* and a lot of the the Items are either halfway to their expiration date or can be easily found on sale elsewhere *stylekorean is kicking a$$ with their sales*. Also its the variety. I love Benton, The plant base and cosrx but come on lol. I wish there were a beauty box that really showcases the huge world that is Kbeauty.
Again idk if this is just me lol

I agree with DEA – love your reviews and especially Korean skincare! I think this box is next on my wishlist. Those socks are so cute. SO CUTE.

Also thank you so much for the eye cream tip for the corners of the mouth! I struggle with the same issue and am always getting eye creams in boxes and GWP sets, and I don’t use them up enough. I’m definitely going to try this trick!

I always read your reviews for this box because I love Korean skincare. I’ve never tried this sub because of the price, but if I get tired of Ipsy GBP, this would be a great alternative for me. The cost per month is a little less, since this is $50 every two months, and even though it’s half the products, they are more likely to be products that I will like, use, and use up. Thank you for being so detailed. The socks are adorable all around.
