Quirky Crate is a monthly lifestyle subscription box full of colorful accessories and other fun finds. Each box contains 6-9 items that are bound to make you smile and features an enamel pin, an item from a featured indie artist, and a funky fresh pair of socks each month. The cost is $36.95 per month with over $70 value in each box.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Quirky Crate always provides a fab welcome sticker upon opening. The tissue paper and happy mail sticker always hit the spot!

Quirky Crate showcases one item from a featured artist or brand each month. This month is a very exciting box for me and probably for Quirky Crate as well. They are featuring one of my favorite brands, ban.do! I absolutely love the aesthetic of this very popular brand, and I can't tell you how thrilled I was to see them in this month's box. They carry flair, desk accessories, clothing, planners, calendars, etc., and everything is meant to put you into a good vibe or uplifting atmosphere.

On the flip side of the card, Quirky Crate includes an itemized list of each product and its value. This month's theme is "Weekends Forever" and features some sweet flair that is totally unique and totally quirky.

Time to get quirky!

Weekender Bag - Listed Value $38

This tote is a great size to take shopping. I love having reusable bags at my fingertips; there is nothing more satisfying to me (a recycling enthusiast) than to refuse a plastic bag at the checkout. It is a great size whether you're heading into the grocery for a few items, or you're going out on the town. The inside has a neat little zipper pouch you can store your essentials if you're like me and like to skip out on carrying a heavy purse around. I really enjoy it when QC switches it up in the bag department, and I can totally see myself putting this bag into heavy rotation.

ban.do Sip Sip Tumbler - Listed Value $15 (on sale for $7.99)

Nothing like hydrating in style! I always agree with this good vibes brand, ban.do's, simple yet stylish aesthetic. They are always featuring different artists' work on their products, and I always love checking out their website for all of the exciting new products they have to brighten my day. I buy their wall calendars and planners every year, and I having been lucky enough to receive a few of their kitchen/barware products as gifts over the years. I feel like a cool girl sporting this 20oz tumbler, and the only thing that would make this item better would be if it were dishwasher safe.

Happy Flower Enamel Pin - Listed Value $10

This happy, happy flower found a loving home. Not only is it my favorite color, but I think we all know by now that I have a deep-rooted love for smiley faces. The flower is just the cherry on top! This pin is a little larger than a quarter which is the perfect size to fit really anything. It will likely end up on the collar of my jean jacket but could end up on Ronan's diaper bag.

Primitives by Kathy Brunch Avocado Toast Socks - Listed Value $10 (retails for $7.99)

This color palette alone is a work of art. Avo toast has been a staple, so yes, I will wear these bad boys with pride! They switched it up a little bit this month by sending socks from Primitives by Kathy, but the quality is totally on par with their usual QC brand. This pair is a medium-thick cotton/nylon blend with a hint of spandex for a little stretch.

Dazzled Headband - Listed Price $5

denim bedazzled hairband

I always love receiving items in subscriptions that I would probably never reach for on my own. I never buy hair accessories, but this headband will be there for me when I feel like I need a little change of pace. The denim bedazzled look sends me straight into 90's nostalgia, but honestly, have I ever left? I like that this headband has some give to it so it is not pinching my head, and I found it fairly comfortable to wear.

Smarty Pants Paper Co. No Chill Sticker - Listed Price $3

I found this sticker at the most perfect point for my household. My toddler has been enjoying relatively frequent tantrums as of recently, so I thought applying this to his wipe dispenser in his room was not only appropriate, but it actually looks pretty cool there. Smarty Pants Paper Co. has such an awesome assortment of flair, desktop accessories, and even dog bandanas, and I want all of it. This sticker is weatherproof and printed on white vinyl and was extremely easy to peel from its backing.

Cross Stitch Kit - Listed Price $9

I apologize to all of you DIY kings and queens out there, but I am not that. I am far from that, actually. I want to craft; I know that I am capable of creating, but damned if all of my free time isn't devoted to gnawing daily life tasks that bring neither the satisfaction nor the thrill of making something on your very own. This cross stitch kit is pretty equivalent to coloring by numbers, and yet, I am still at a loss for where to even start. I 100% plan on taking this project on when we drive to the beach next month, and I will absolutely post my results (if they exist) here to update you all on my progress.

The Verdict

April's Quirky Crate really hit the spot for good vibes this month. The "Weekends Forever" theme is a sentiment I can totally get with. Is there any better feeling than waking up on a Saturday without one responsibility on your mind? I have a toddler, so those days are long gone, but I really enjoy reminiscing on what that felt like. Sigh... I am especially stoked to see that ban.do was this month's featured brand; I've been a fan of their quality and quirky products for some time now. I am also excited about this month's cross-stitch DIY and each piece of flair. The total value of this box adds up to $90, over double the $36.95 + $8.50 shipping subscription cost.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

I got a different colour pin and hair band. The pin looks cute on the bag! I have weeded out my subscription addictions and Quirky made the cut. I love the alternate bag. A pair of socks a month is a happy treat.
