Warning: YOU WILL GET CHARGED FOR 2 MONTHS! Second month will be at full price. I signed up last month, emailed immediately to cancel and they did but still charged me for a second month at full price. Buried in their FAQ:

If you are a new subscriber, you will be billed on the day that you sign up. Please note: If you sign up at the end of the month, you will receive two boxes back-to-back, and your credit card will be charged back-to-back as well.

Note: If you sign up at the end of the month, it is likely that you will be charged for your second box before you receive your first box.

They refuse to refund me for the second box. I don’t know if I should do a chargeback with my CC company but I am definitely filing a complaint t with the FTC for consumer fraud.

MSA: You should be warning your readers that if they sign up at the end of the month using these 50% off deals, they WILL be billed FULL price for the next month. No exceptions. This is NOT disclosed on the check out page. Super shady.

Hi there! We’re sorry to hear this. We don’t have access to backend account info, so we would always recommend reading the fine print and cancelling before your next charge date if you do not want to continue with a subscription.

Jenn

That’s because you signed up on the last day of the month and the new charge for the next month hits on the first. If you order this promo cancel before the first of the following month so you are not charged again.

I canceled a full 6 days prior to Dec 1 and was still charged for December. I did not sign up on the last day of the month.

@MSA: This IS the fine print. All the promos that are offered the last week of the month essentially lock you in at the current month at 1/2 off + the next month at full price. MSA should disclose this. I filed a complaint with the FTC about deceptive and misleading practices. The checkout page says “Cancel anytime” but the fine print is on another page. I’ve been back and forth with Allure on this. Id advise people to file a chargeback with the credit card company and a complaint with the FTC.

I was just on the Allure site trying to figure this out… I signed up four days ago and really want to get the email saying it has shipped so I can go cancel it right away because I only want the December box. I can’t stand when you have to wait for your box to be shipped before cancelling the next month… I love getting good deals and everything, but some of this stuff is just too much work to keep track of and follow up on. Good luck with your situation.

I can’t believe full spoilers aren’t released yet!!

SO NOT worth the price increase. Thank goodness I did a year for $165 which is under $14 per box cause the last TWO months Nov & Dec haven’t been as good as I expect since they are now $23! Ridiculous ALlure, you need to step up your game. No way this compares to BC with 5 full priced items at $25 NOR Ipsy Plus at $25 with 3 choice items. I will NOT renew but have 10 months to go left in my annual anyway. But very disappointing atm.

When I use the link it doesn’t show the perfume and lashes as free gifts.

Cindy

I think they ran out of this promotion already.

Hi all!!! Well I am conflicted because I LOVE most all the Allure boxes I have gotten so far. There has been only a few items I will give away and I have sub’d for over a year. BUT the January box so far is something that has brought me to the conclusion I am cancelling Allure at least until I see them get back to where they were. For the cost and as much freebies they are giving to new members for this length sub or that 1 I wish to see the same effort put into their monthly boxes. I don’t feel they are doing that now. I just have to go read how to cancel Allure.

Of All the Beauty Boxes I get Monthly (for YearS) It’s Mind Blowing I’ve Never Recvd this Victor Rolf 💣 Perfume.. Never Smelled it Even. I know it’s Expensive AH but So Are Not just Sub Boxes but some of Serums & Palettes which reach Close to $100 spot. I’m Not Complaining… I just think Maybe Someone Else Can get a Laugh out of this. That’s Exactly WHAT I Have to do Laugh to keep From Cryin. On another Note.. Anyone Else NOT Recvd a Free Gift while Joining “Allure” I Didn’t & Neither Did My Daughter (MonthS Ago)
I Wish Allure Acknowledged Fact & Actually Sent ANY Free Gift. IF I take time to Email a Co I’m LEGIT bringing Problem they’re unaware of… Not trying to Get Something for Nothing.

If it makes you feel any better, I think that the Viktor and Rolf perfume does smell like a 💣.

Izzie

Not sure I understood, but they didn’t include a gift for first subscribers once, I emailed them (it took less than writing this comment) and they made it right.

Reply ButtonReply

Izzie

@Cindy yes, I specified in my email the missing gift (it was a Sisley mask) and they sent me that item, no substitutions. Hopefully they will include the flowerbomb in your box, they seem to have a lot of different promotions going on recently, and hopefully have enough stock to fulfill the demand. Finger crossed!

Cindy

Did they actually send you the real first subbed gift or something else? I resubbed just for the flowerbomb perfume but, now I am so afraid I won’t receive it.

Michelle

Now I have a headache.

Whenever I see Allure release a new offer like this (which is basically every day now), I think “STOP TRYING TO MAKE FETCH HAPPEN!”

Reply ButtonReply

Kay

They’re starting to look desperate for subscribers since their price increase.

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

So agree.

Jacking the price by 50% without boosting the items as advertised was a huge mistake. They will need to bring their A++ game in the new year or they are done,

Julia

I waited for someone else to say this exact sentence. The “D” word.

Jennifer

Since Glossybox never sent my box with the perfume, I’m pretty tempted by this!
