FaceTory 7 Lux July 2020 Review

Now on to the masks!

SanDaWha Camellia Nourishing Mask - Retail Value $3.25

This mask was so light and nice! It fit my face well and was drenched in a clear serum with a sweet floral scent. It was also immediately cooling to my face which had seen a little too much sun the day I applied it. Inside is extract from the camellia plant which is loaded with antioxidants.

Dr. Timepeel A1 Normalizer Mask - Listed Value $3.00

I feel like this mask really undersold itself in terms of its name and packaging. This might be the most performing of the bunch this month! I only really noticed it because a little of the clear serum dripped onto my lips and it was really tart. That immediately let me know there were likely some acids in here and when I peeked the ingredient list I saw so much goodness inside: citric acid, lactic acid, malic acid, loads of antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid. This mask is really well rounded with exfoliants, hydrators, and antioxidants. All together these work to smooth your skin, clean pores, and improve texture.

Jeju:en You Can’t Handle This Sheet - Retail Value $4.00

This was the "cute" mask fo the month for sure. It had some really cute printed flames and text that reads "You can't handle this sheet!" Not a huge difference in my skin before and after with this one, but it was certainly Instagrammable! Inside was mushroom extract, volcanic ash, and niacinamide!

Dr. Althea Natural Brightening Velvet Mask - Retail Value $3.00

The packaging for this mask was so pretty. Truly, it looked like a love letter written to my face! This is the sort of mask I reach for when my skin is red or stressed. It has all sorts of calming things inside like squalane, oats, and milk extracts. This mask was made out of a thicker material and covered in a milky serum with a soft creamy scent. It truly left my face feeling like velvet.

Yadah Daily Vegi Mask, Kombucha - Retail Value $3.00

I am a kombucha addict and this was actually the first mask I applied this month while I was brewing my first batch of Kombucha from a Bespoke Post kit! What timing! I liked this mask a lot. It didn't really have a noticeable scent, was coated with a light yellow serum, and fit really well! My skin seemed to like this mask, too! Inside was a tea ferment, flower extracts, and hyaluronic acid. My skin felt great after this one and looked radiant, too.

Ariul 7 Days Plus Mask, Tea Tree - Retail Value $3.50

This was a two-step mask and though it is a tea tree formula, it really didn't have that strong tea tree scent I was expecting. The first step is to wipe your face with the included pad. It is covered in tea tree extract which helps with inflammation and blemishes. After wiping down your face, this well-fitting and surprisingly gentle mask goes on! It also lacked that strong tea tree scent but was super calming and zapped away the redness on my chin.

Huangjisoo Red Fruits Brightening Mask - Retail Value $6.00

This mask was the most expensive of the bunch this month. It contained a creamy serum with soft fruit scents. I was actually surprised with this mask because I felt like it started to dry within 5 minutes of application. I ended up misting it with a toner to extend the wear time. I did notice some brightening (especially on my cheeks!) but this wasn't my fave.

MYSTERY BONUS MASK:

Coscodi Ganoderma Stem Real Mask - Retail Value $5.00

I have no clue why this mask was included this month, but I am always excited about more masks! I legitimately loved this one. It was filled with this earthy root sort of scent and was so soft and velvety. My skin looked really radiant after removing this one, likely because it was filled with mushroom and ginseng extracts, both of which my skin really tends to love.

This month arrived with TWO bonus products, too!

Pureforet Centella Natural Soap with Bubble Foaming Net, 90 g - Retail Value $8.00

This bar of soap was such a good surprise as a bonus! I love anything with cica because I am prone to redness and it REALLY helps tone that down for me. This bar arrived with a sort of net bag you can use on it which creates the most dreamy lather. It smells fresh and sharp like fresh-cut grass and herbs and leaves my skin feeling absolutely fantastic.

Rated Green Hibiscus Scalp Pack - Retail Value $4.00

Our last item was a scalp mask pack. I generally don't use scalp packs because I have dry hair but my roots can get oily. Lately, though, I have been experiencing a lot of scalp dryness around the edges of my hairline, so I decided some pampering was in order. This pack smelled SO good! The texture here was a very heavy and light-pink cream. It did wonders for the dry edges on my hairline and I didn't notice any extra greasiness in my roots.

Verdict: FaceTory is always a delivery I look forward to. The masks are just always such good quality and the variety can't be beat. I love that there were TWO extra items inside this month. The scalp pack was an A+ and the soap was stellar. If you are looking for a regular delivery of Korean sheet masks, this is a sub you should absolutely try.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No. Your subscription will likely begin with the August box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $19.90 + free shipping, which means that each of the 10 items in the box has an average cost of $1.99.

Loved all of these masks! The bonus items were fun this month. I would have never expected a bar of soap but it turned out to be one of my favorites from this month!

Disappointing, ever-decreasing individual mask value. Sadlily this subscription is not what it used to be. 😟

What do you mean? I’ve found the quality has gone up and the bonus item is always great. There is a huge difference in quality between the ingredients in the 7 luxe pack vs the cheaper 4 pack. I can do without the $10 gimmick masks that don’t really do anything.

Just my opinion, but I’ve subscribed for several years now, practically since the beginning. The variety and value of masks that was once there is decreasing as they start to sell more of a variety of beauty products as well as their own branded products, which wasn’t the case before.

Just my opinion, but I’ve subscribed for several years now, practically since the beginning. I like the masks but I don’t feel as though I’m getting as much value or quality with the subscription as I used to. I also don’t see the availability to purchase higher value masks. The masks that are for sale on their website are either their own branded masks or masks you can usually find on Amazon for $1-2 each and that didn’t used to be the case.
