TheraBox “Indulge” February 2020 Review

TheraBox includes a mini-magazine highlighting the ingredients to happiness included in each month’s box. It includes a note from the editor, opportunities to win free boxes, a list of all the items included in this month’s box and TheraBox FAQs. I love that TheraBox provides a description of each product, a link to the product’s website, the cost of the item and a coupon code if available.

Aromatherapy Body Cleanser by Aminnah Skincare, 7.5 oz – Retail Value $24.99

I love receiving fancy body cleansers in boxes, but I have to say that this fell a bit short for me. I will start with the positives: it lathers really well and it left my skin feeling clean and hydrated. What I didn't love is that it didn't really have much of a smell to it. The booklet says that it is made with essential oils and natural botanicals like geranium, rosewood, bergamot, and lavender to revitalize the senses and relieve anxiety. Unfortunately, I didn't really smell any of those scents when using this bottle. If you hold the bottle close you will see shimmers of gold that are 24k gold flakes to nourish your skin and make it glow! I did use the entire bottle because I loved the way it made my skin feel, but I just wish I got a bit more of a relaxing and revitalizing scent from it.

10+ Free Coral Floral Nail Polish, 0.4 fl oz.– Retail Value $18

I am loving this bright nail polish color, just in time for Spring! Plus, I really enjoyed learning more about this brand and how they are keeping their polishes free of harmful chemicals. The polish is plant-based, 100% vegan, free of 21+ harmful chemicals, infused with a proprietary Nail-NRGY Bio-Peptide Complex to help repair damaged nails, and has 10+ day wear. Being home with two kids doesn't usually allow me much time to paint my nails, but I love this color so much I am going to schedule some time to make sure I am able to paint at least my hands! The coverage was great with little streaking, and it only took two coats to get the coverage and tone I desired.

Hydration Happy Face Mist by Manna Kadar Beauty, 180 ml – Retail Value $19 (currently out of stock)

I love a good face mist and use one daily! I received the Happy Face version which is meant to be used before makeup application, and then you can also use it throughout the day to add hydration and a healthy glow over your makeup. Like most face mists, you can still use Happy Face before bed as well. This blend is made with Sea Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Rosa Hybrid Flower Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana Flower Water, Jasminum Sambac (Jasmine) Flower Extract, and more! I loved the bold floral smell and how hydrated my skin felt after each use. I mean my skin really drank this mist up so it is safe to say that I will be adding this to my collection of face mists to use!

Deep Cleansing Scalp & Hair Scrub in Pear Blossom by Zion Health, 4 oz. – Retail Value $19.99

This hair scrub is really interesting, it has the texture of a body scrub while feeling almost like a conditioner. Some of its main ingredients are argan oil, sea salt, coconut oil, aloe, biotin, vitamin E, and so much more. Plus it is 100% vegan! The booklet says that using this scrub one to two times a week will strengthen your hair starting at the scalp, dissolve build-up, exfoliate, and encourage hair growth. The directions note to apply to wet or damp hair, massage it into the scalp through to the ends, then rinse. I have tried this a few times now but I seem to struggle to get it to work through my hair enough to get it to my scalp. I have very thick curly hair so when it is wet or damp it sort of sticks and is hard to move so I'm just not feeling like this scrub is even getting to my scalp. Maybe it is though and I'm just being too cautious with it? I haven't noticed a huge difference in my hair after a few uses, but I will continue to use it until the container runs out. So I honestly can't really tell if I like this or not yet since its sort of tricky to use and I haven't noticed a huge difference in the overall look or texture of my hair.

Eyes Eyes Baby by Fleur & Bee, 0.6 oz. – Retail Value $22

This eye cream is cruelty-free and made with natural ingredients like vitamin B3, vitamin E, and caffeine. You can use this eye cream in the morning and at night, a little goes a long way, so just dab a bit around your eye area. This cream is meant to soften fine lines and wrinkles, decrease dark circles, and provide deep hydration. I don't know about you all, but I can always tell if my eye area is dry by how my makeup goes on. I could tell that my winter skin was in need of some eye hydration in a big way so I was really excited to give this cream a try! I did feel some stinging when I applied at first but I think that is because my skin is just very dry right now and I might have used a bit too much at first. I will also say that my eyes tend to be on the sensitive side so I noticed some burning after putting in my contacts in the morning so I will only be able to use this cream at night before bed. I can't speak to the improvement of reducing lines and wrinkles just yet but I can say that this cream is leaving my skin feeling hydrated which is all I really need right now!

Dr. Pedicure Lavender Foot Peeling Mask by Grace & Stella – Retail Value $20

Guys, this foot peeling mask is intense. After reading the box I was honestly scared to even try this! The directions for use are very specific so I highly recommend reading once and then reading the box again before use. This box comes with one pair of booties that are made with water, glycerol, glycolic acid, alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, lactic acid, arginine, parfum, butylene glycol, and a ton more! Basically, you soak your feet in warm water for 10 mins, pat dry, place your feet inside booties and secure them around each ankle using the enclosed adhesive tape, wear for one hour, remove the booties, and wash with soap and water. Your foot's dead skin cells will begin to exfoliate from 6-10 days after treatment. My feet started exfoliating in a big way after a few days, but I will be honest, there was a lot coming off and it didn't feel great. I felt like I needed to constantly keep socks on my feet and put lotion on as much as I could. My feet are done with the exfoliation part I think, but they are so so dry! I am constantly putting lotion on them, but they really don't look much better. Plus, I found the exfoliation days to be rather uncomfortable. It might just be me, but I would much rather get a pedicure than try this at home. What were your experiences with this product?

Daily Affirmation Cards – Listed Value $18.99

These daily affirmation cards could not have come at a better time! I had tucked these away at first, not sure when or how I would use them. Now that we are in the thick of quarantine, I have kept these cards next to my bed, pulling a new one out to read each night and each morning. They are bright and beautiful and provide me with some inner peace and hope that I really need right now. I also think that these would make a wonderful gift as a set or even frame and give one to a friend that you know would appreciate the amazing words that come on each card. I am truly in love with this set of cards and can't wait to extend some of these words of wisdom to my friends!

Mantra Grip Socks by Toe Talk – Retail Value $10

I am a stay-at-home Mommy so most of my workouts these days happen in my family room when the kids are napping. These socks are just what I needed to make me feel comfortable for each of those workouts! I love the beautiful "inhale" and "exhale" written across the tops to serve as a reminder to take a deep breath. Plus, I love the light ventilation across the top; they help to keep my feet cool whether they are in a shoe or out. The grip at the bottom makes them great when using a yoga mat or even if I'm just walking across my floors. I actually find that these are super comfortable to wear with my shoes as well if I'm doing a heavier workout, but I love using them when I am doing a yoga or pilates workout as well. These were such a wonderful surprise to receive this month!

The Verdict: This month's TheraBox was pretty neutral for me. The overall curation fell a bit flat, leaving me not overly excited about the products. I think my favorite products from this box would be the nail polish and socks because I know I will get use out of each. The foot mask was just not for me at all and the hair scrub felt clunky to use with little immediate results. While I used the body wash, I wasn't blown away but the scent. I think for me, the affirmation cards are the one item that really made my heart sing this month! So while the box wasn't disappointing by any means, it didn't leave me with a huge amount of excitement about any one product. This month's estimated retail value is $152.97 making this box an awesome deal considering the $39.98 price ($34.99 + $4.99 shipping). While I wasn't in love with this month's products, you really can't beat that value, especially if you are looking to learn more about beauty and wellness brands and products or if you are just looking for a more curated way to pamper yourself!
