SnackNation Review February 2020

Snack Nation January 2020 info

First, there is a card explaining how you can save on your next box by filling out a survey.

Bob's Red Mill Peanut Butter Apple Spice & Oats Bob's Better Bar, 1.76 oz - Buy a case of 12 for $18.88

This was pretty tasty! If you like Larabars, this felt pretty similar texture-wise. The flavor was definitely Apple Spice with emphasis on the spice - I thought the ginger and cloves were strong! Overall though I'd totally reach for more of these.

Health Warrior Chia Bar in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, 0.88 oz - Buy a case of 15 for $15.99

I liked the texture of this bar, but the flavor was unfortunately pretty bland. It wasn't bad at all and would be a fine snack, but I was hoping for more.

ShrewdFood Low Carb Protein Puffs, Strawberries & Cream, 0.74 oz - Buy an 8 pack for $14.99

These are alright. They're little, light, crunchy puff balls sprinkled with strawberry flavored powder. The texture is good but the strawberry flavor threw me because I think my brain is just more used to something like this in a savory or cheesy flavor. Not bad, overall, for a low-carb snack.

Grain Free No-Grain-Ola, When Honey Met Maple, 1 oz - Buy a 12 pack of 1.5 oz bags for $30

I love this!! I didn't expect to - I have avoided grain free granolas because I don't tend to be big on eating handfuls of seeds for snacks. But this is delicious! The honey + maple flavor is so good and I really love the coconut flakes thrown in there. I meant to taste this for review and save it for later when I was hungry for a snack but once I tried it I wanted the whole portion. Yum, yum, yum.

Ocean's Halo Seaweed Snack Sheets in Bacon, 0.14 oz - Buy a 12 pack for $19.99 (different flavor linked)

So, I haven't eaten a lot of seaweed snacks before. I know I have at some point. But I know I can't effectively assess if these are good in comparison to other seaweed snacks. As just a snack in general, they're okay? I guess? Maybe the bacon flavor had me expecting something more, but these just tasted like normal salty seaweed. Which, I have to admit, feels like eating sad diet food to me. I know there are tons of people out there who genuinely enjoy seaweed sheets as a snack, and maybe they're more of an acquired taste that might grow on me, but I just don't personally care for these. Pass me some more of that granola!

Verdict: This month's SnackNation was my third box from them, and I am really enjoying getting to try all sorts of new snacks each month. So far there's been something from each box that I've gone to order more of, that I wouldn't have discovered or tried otherwise. This month my favorite is the granola for sure. My sons both loved the Bob's Red Mill bar, too, so I'll probably grab some more of those for snacks for them as well.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? It’s more of a randomized selection. From SnackNation:

Mine is really late this month, it came earlier last month and my survey link is active so I’m a little worried it got lost.

I eat seaweed snacks from that brand almost every day but the Maui Onion flavor is the best. It’s fake bacon flavor, though — those are vegan.

I got that granola in Love with Food and I swear it was mostly powder with a few seeds and coconut flakes, like someone milled it to flour before packaging it (it did taste good, though).
