Good to Know: If you have been following Loot Crate (the parent company of Sports Crate), you know that shipping complaints are very common. For perspective, my crate was ordered on March 14, and I was so excited that I reached out to Sports Crate on Twitter to see when I could expect to receive my box. Needless to say, I did not get my crate by the end of the second week of April, and I actually got this box on April 26th.

Sports Crate Team Pennant

Sports Crate Team Pennant - Estimated Value $5?

I wasn't sure what to value this pennant at, because Sports Crate doesn't have any similar pennants available for sale and the officially licensed pennants found online are much bigger than this one. This isn't the highest quality pennant, but I would comfortably pay $5 for an officially licensed team pennant of this size in a store. I have a bulletin board I am putting together to hang up in my space at work, and this is the perfect size to show my team spirit while still leaving room for pictures.

Sports Crate Team Bottle Opener - Estimated Value $10?

I currently only have one bottle opener, and it is attached to my wine opener. I was happy to get a team-focused one to use on my bottled beverages, however, the fun doesn't stop there. When I went to use it, this bottle opener started playing music! It plays the Charge song, only without everyone at the end shouting charge. That surprise delighted me! I will say that this opener is more for novelty than heavy duty— the metal felt a little flimsy when I opened my soda, but it got the job done. I will probably reach for this when I am specifically watching baseball and reaching for a cold one and I’ll use my stainless steel one for other times. This was another guess, value-wise. I could see something of similar quality while playing music going for around $10 in the team shop, so that is what I went with.

Sports Crate Stadium Tee - Estimated Value $14.99 (based on other tees sold by Sports Crate here)

My DBacks apparel collection is severely lacking, so I was really happy to see that these boxes come with shirts! This 100% cotton is really lightweight, but it is also super soft. I could happily wear this to sleep, to workout, or to a game. I will say that the bright red-orange color of the shirt isn't the true Sedona-red of the DBacks, however, that could very well be a style decision Sports Crate made. I would happily pay $14.99 for this shirt at the team shop, and I consider that a bit cheap, actually, for an officially licensed team shirt. Plus, it pays homage to Chase Field, which is one of my favorite places to be!

MLB New Era Official Team Cap - Retail Value $19.99

When I saw this hat peeking out the first thing I noticed is that this is a very current product. The DBacks actually redid their uniforms in the past 2-3 years, and the red and black top of this cap is the newest style. I am not usually a hat person, because I have a big head and then my curls make it even more difficult to find a hat that fits properly without squeezing my face. This hat fits comfortably, and the adjustable velcro band at the back means I could get the perfect fit. This was the surprise favorite of the box.

Here I am wearing the shirt and the hat. Remember that Anastasia Lipstick I wasn't psyched about? Turns out it perfectly matches the Sedona red of the DBacks, and I am a lot more into it now.

Verdict: I am a major Arizona Diamondbacks fan, and I would comfortably say baseball is my favorite sports (I love football, but it is a close second). I was really excited to see a box full of officially licensed DBacks gear because the DBacks are a smaller market and don't usually get attention for things like this. Considering the Diamondbacks have the best record in the National League (and 2nd best in baseball, overall), I am happy to get more DBacks gear so I can show my pride as we march towards a World Series title (It may only be May, but I am calling it now). The quality wasn't the best on the pennant and bottle opener, but overall I am very happy with what I received for about $30 including free shipping.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You will likely receive the May box. Check out our spoilers here!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $29.99 with free shipping and I calculated an approximate value of $49.98. That means you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Pennant: $3
  • Bottle Opener: $6
  • Tee: $9
  • Hat: $12
