Stitch Fix is a monthly clothing and styling subscription service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences. After choosing when you'd like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks 5 items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

StitchFix Box January 2018 - Receipt

This is my invoice sheet. It lists the prices per item and the discount I’d receive by keeping all 5 items. With the 25% discount and my $20 styling fee factored in, this box would cost me a total of $301.75 to keep everything – an average of $60.35 per item and a total discount of $127.25.

StitchFix Box January 2018 - Return Bag

For anything you plan to return, Stitch Fix instructs you to complete a checkout process online so they know what to expect coming back, and it also allows you to provide feedback about the items. They include a USPS prepaid mailing bag in your box too. You just pack up the items you don't want and drop the bag off at your post office. I love easy returns!

Tessi Embroidered Bell Sleeve Top by Daniel Rainn, size L - Cost to keep: $74

This top is really beautiful in person! The delicate details on the sleeve and bottom were stunning and added a feminine touch. The embroidery is unique yet subtle which I liked. The top is 100% rayon and dry clean only and very sturdy so you know this is going to last you over the years. The cut was a bit off for me, though, with the top hitting me right above my chest which caused it to puff out a bit too much from the chest down. Even though I didn't love the style on me, it was fun trying on something I wouldn't have normally picked out for myself.

StitchFix Box January 2018 - Primrose Skinny Jean

Primrose Skinny Jean by Level 99, size 14 - Cost to keep: $98

These pants were crazy comfortable! They have spandex in them for a nice stretch with a blend of cotton, rayon, and polyester. I really did love the overall fit and they moved so well with me. I am not a color pant kind of gal, but I thought I could see past the green simply because they were so comfortable! However, when I tried them on at home my son right away said, "Hulk pants!" Back they go, but I would love to try these in black!

Cory Boot by DV8, size 10 - Cost to keep: $95

If you are looking for a sturdy yet stylish boot, these are for you! I was surprised when I took these boots out how heavy they are. They felt very structured and the toe was very sturdy, nothing that would bend or change shape over time. The suede has a cool discoloration that makes them look a bit worn at the toe, a very cool detail! I have so many brown boots that are pretty similar to this, otherwise, I would have absolutely kept these boots. Plus, I am so impressed to receive a DV8 boot, such great quality!

StitchFix Box January 2018 - Stella Textured Faux Leather Moto Jacket StitchFix Box January 2018 - Stella Textured Faux Leather Moto Jacket Back StitchFix Box January 2018 - Stella Textured Faux Leather Moto Jacket Detail

Stella Textured Faux Leather Moto Jacket by Bagatelle, size L - Cost to keep: $108

This jacket was very nice and high quality, I just didn't love all of the detail. I thought the fabric was a bit much, and it made the overall fit feel a bit chunky for my liking. The coating of the jacket is made of 100% polyurethane and 100% viscose for the lining so there wasn't much give with the fit of the sleeves. I do have a leather jacket that I basically live in so that could be why I wasn't more blown away by this one, but overall I think it would be a great find for someone looking for a moto jacket with great detail!

StitchFix Box January 2018 - Fausta Elbow Patch Raglan Knit Top StitchFix Box January 2018 - Fausta Elbow Patch Raglan Knit Top Arm Detail StitchFix Box January 2018 - Fausta Elbow Patch Raglan Knit Top Detail

Fausta Elbow Patch Raglan Knit Top by Papermoon, size L - Cost to keep: $54

This top wasn't my favorite out of this month's box and lacked a bit of wow factor for me. It was very comfortable and I enjoyed the extra patch detailing on the sleeve. Being a blend of polyester, rayon, and spandex, I didn't think the quality was worth the price tag. The style is also very casual, which I typically do like, but that mixed with the fit just didn't do it for me.

Verdict: This latest Stitch Fix was a bit of a miss for me. Most of the pieces didn't match my overall personal style, which is something I am going to work on noting in my personal profile better. I will say though that I am continually impressed by the quality of each of the pieces. The moto jackets and boots were amazing but were both pieces I feel I already have enough of or similar styles. I thought my stylist did a great job in selecting pieces that could work well together, they just weren't styles that I loved. I do really enjoy trying on clothes, especially new styles, and I think Stitch Fix continues to do a great job in making the overall process super fun month to month. While I didn't keep anything this month, I am excited to update my profile a bit more for next month!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $429. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20.00 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $301.75 for the whole box. This is approximately a 30% discount for keeping all 5 items.

Impressed by my second box. My first box the sizes were not to my liking, however there were cute items. My second box I loved every item and they all fit great including the boots…which is surprising to get shoes that fit well when getting online. Stylist listened to my wants, liked and dislikes so far. Although a little higher priced than I would spend every day, the price did reflect the quality of the items. I kept ALL 5 items because I loved them soooo much! When you keep all five items they give you 25% off the prices, plus the $20 stylist fee goes towards your purchase too. I like it and can’t wait to get my next box in February!

I loved the clothes in this sub. However the shoes were a different story. I had received 2 pairs in different box and the shoes were so scuffed, dirty and obviously used. I was not happy. They offered 10% off to keep them. No way. So I dropped shoes from my choices.

Wow that 1st shirt with the lace was so pretty but I would have wanted long sleeves.
