The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural, too). They also typically include a nice mix of full-size and sample beauty items. Vegan Cuts also offers a monthly Snack Box and quarterly Makeup Box.
Vegan Cuts sends a single package to subscribers who get both the beauty and snack boxes. The beauty items are separated into a little bag. (If you do not get the snack box, I don’t think you get the little bag.)
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Moon Rivers Naturals Coconut Milk Face Wash – Value $9
This had separated a bit but was fine after I shook it up. I did not find this to have a strong coconut scent. I used it as the second step in a double-cleansing routine and I did not find any makeup on my face on the cotton pad when I used toner. I am not sure I would use this as the only step to remove makeup, but there are definitely several places I can fit it into my skincare routine.
Vedic Botanicals Ayurvedic Skin Cream – Value $14.99
Ayurveda is a traditional system of medicine associated with Hinduism and the Indian subcontinent. It is considered more of a complementary or alternative medicine, though this is the same tradition that gave us the neti pot, so at least some of the practices have gained acceptance in the West. At any rate, my face is not in a good place to try new moisturizers right now (just getting over a breakout from another beauty product) so I used this on my inner thighs, which are seriously chafed from exercise pants. It did not irritate my skin but it will take a few more uses to see how well it helps.
Z Skin Cosmetics Pumped Mineral Mascara – Value $18.99
So I used this, this morning, and it didn’t do much for me. The formula was thin and the brush (see below) was tiny, and even with a lot of coats, it hardly looked like I was wearing mascara at all. Here is a quote from their website:
See visibly thicker, longer, fuller lashes! Using our combination of exotic minerals and herbs, this revolutionary mascara will help stimulate lash growth while giving you a natural makeup free appearance!
Obviously, I can’t see lash growth after one use. The wording here is a little ambiguous but something called “waterproof mascara” seems to me to NOT be a lash serum only, but then there is the “makeup free” language in the description. (For the record, I did look rather “makeup free” and did not see thicker, longer, or fuller lashes.)
Here is the wand. I left my hand in the picture for size context – this brush is smaller than my thumbnail.
Simply Wicked Matcha Green Tea Face Mask (0.5 oz) – Value $3 (buy a 2.5 oz. jar for $15)
This, however, I was a big fan of. I really like antioxidants in skincare and also clay masks (this has only two ingredients – matcha and bentonite, which, for what it’s worth, is the primary clay in cat litter…). You use a teaspoon of powder and a tablespoon of liquid and I would strongly recommend one of these mixer sets, which are really cheap on Amazon, for getting proportions right without wasting product. I put a thin layer on my face and left it for about 10 minutes. I think this did help absorb excess oils (I have oily/combination skin) and I look forward to the antioxidant benefits over time.
The Innate Life Rose Hair Elixir – Value $15
This has a bunch of different oils in it and a strong rose scent. I used two drops only this morning, some on the part of my hair (I tend to get flyaways) and some along the length and on the ends, and it gave me a nice shine and controlled frizz pretty well, too. Actually, it is one of the better products I’ve tried for this purpose lately and I would consider buying more in the future. I lucked out with the number of drops I used, which ended up being just the right amount (I have long hair that is not particularly thick at the moment and I am normally TERRIBLE at predicting how much of a hair oil to use). Throughout the day, I would occasionally get a whiff of rose. I think this would be nice in combination with one of the rose scents from the Atelier Cologne Advent Calendar!
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $61 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. That is a pretty solid box from them. I liked most of the items and was particularly enthusiastic about the hair elixir and face mask, so I am happy with the box overall, even though the mascara was a miss for me.
