Kettle Craft Chicken Treats – Retail Value $4.50
These are made in Canada and they are what I would call semi-soft cat treats; they are small cubes and they don’t smell all that much (always important with cat treats). Sneaky wanted to eat them all, though they were enjoyed by all the cats (except poor Mr. Kitty, who can’t have chicken).
Peek and Pounce Eyeballs – Retail Value $5.99
These are fabric-covered rattle balls. They are a great size for my crew. Angus has enjoyed them the most so far, but Monkey is also totally into rattle balls and I’m sure he will discover them soon (probably in the middle of the night when I am trying to sleep).
Purr Pumpkin – Retail Value $5.99
My pumpkin had a bigger feather than the one in the Meowbox Shop but that’s OK because big feathers are definitely a plus at my house. This has an interesting corduroy sort of texture and is full of catnip. Several cats were interested in this, though I’m sure it’s no surprise that Angus had the most fun with it.
Frankenstein Toy – Retail Value $5.99
This is about as simple as it gets for a catnip toy – just a stuffed rectangle with catnip. But simple is fine with cats; they don’t often care about all the bells and whistles that make toys appeal to people. The felt texture of this is a nice contrast with the eyeballs and mouth (some kind of decals or iron-on images?). This one was popular for chin rubbing.
Bone Shaker Skeleton Wand – Retail Value $10?
There is an image for this in the list of goodies for the month, but the link doesn’t work. Since this, like all the other toys, is a Meowbox exclusive, I had to estimate the value, so I made it the same as another wand in the Meowbox shop. This skeleton had ropy legs that were a big hit with Sneaky, Madison, and Angus (Sneaky and Madison would be horrified to know they liked the same toy as Angus) and it held up to a lot of kitty abuse.
Gratuitous cat photos ahead:

I like how the Frankenstein toy has mismatched eyes just like Mr. Kitty.

Sneaky is in it for the treats.
But she does also like dangly things on sticks.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $32.47 for the October Meowbox. I did have to estimate some of those values, but I feel like this is comfortably above the cost of a month-to-month subscription for a cat box. All the toys were custom for the box, so you’re getting things here that don’t show up everywhere else. I have recently decided that I am a fan of cute Halloween decorations, but not scary ones, and I thought the designs of the toys were adorable this month. More importantly, at least one cat liked each toy and some of the toys were popular with several cats. The treats were also a hit.
To Wrap Up:
