My son, Fox, is 19 months old and loves to discover new toys and books! We both have been loving our Bluum boxes!
InnoBaby Silicon Bath Scrub-Fish - Retail Value $9.99
This 100% antibacterial silicone brush is soft and gentle like the bristles of your baby's hairbrush. At first, my son thought this was a new bath toy so he was a little sad when we had to take it from him. When we started to use it to wash him during bath, we noticed that the scrubber didn't provide a good lather. While it is an extra gentle and easier way to wash than using a washcloth, I just didn't see the soap working the way I like, especially after he has had a day playing in the dirt. I think we will use this from time to time, but overall we need something a bit more soap friendly. My son seems happy though because now he can play with this during his bath instead!
Myland Mini Jet - Retail Value $6.99
This mini jet is awesome! I opened my box at night when my son was asleep, but this was the first thing he noticed when he came downstairs the next morning. The wheels roll easily while the toy is big enough for him to grasp and roll across the floor. We live very close to an airport so airplanes are probably one of my son's favorite things, and while we have purchased many airplane toys before, this has been hands down his favorite. He is able to roll this across the floor while he scoots along with it. I just keep wondering what adventures he is imagining in his mind as he plays with this little airplane before takeoff!
Brinware ABC Placemat - Estimated Value $8.50 (Buy a set of 2 for $16.99)
I was just talking to my Mom about how we wanted to buy my son a placement so he can go over his letters and then this arrived in the mail! The material is a non-toxic silicone that is safe for baby to eat on while it also is sticky so it stays in place either on a table or on your little one's highchair desk. My son absolutely loved looking at the animals and going over his letters with me during each meal. We even let the hippo share some of my son's lunch today!
Look at Me: I'm an Alien! Masked Board Book - Retail Value $4.99
This is so much more than a book, when you put each page up to your face you will become the alien! Everyone that I show this too thinks it is the cutest thing ever, and you should have seen my son's face when I held the first page up to my face. The silliest thing we ever saw! The book itself goes over what each alien is and what they do, but the mask part of it really helps to encourage your little one's imagination and role-playing. Looking at the silly side of things, being creative, and engaging with everything around us are things I try to encourage with my son daily. I was very excited to see that this book helps in all of those activities that mean so much to me, so this is something that we both can really enjoy!
Brinware Fish Shaped Divider Plate - Retail Value $12.99
This plate is made of silicon and is microwave and dishwasher safe! We have a few plates like this because they are so easy to take with you when eating out or going to a party where your little one might not have access to a highchair. They stick nicely to a flat surface and they clean up so easily! Plus, the dividers make eating a breeze especially if your child is picky about food touching like my son has been recently. I love the ease of this plates because I can just toss them in my diaper bag to use at lunch out and then know it will clean easily when we get home. A great item to have on hand!
Verdict: This month's Bluum box was a big hit in my house! I loved that this month had items that are focused on meal time because that is a big part of what we do throughout the day since my son loves to eat. Some of my son's favorite toys and books have come from Bluum, and I think the alien book and airplane are quickly going to become his number one items!
This month's retail value is $43.46 which is higher than the $34 box cost but falls short of the guaranteed $45 value listed on the Bluum site. While I do love my Bluum box every month, I wish the value was a bit higher which they could do by maybe adding one more item or making one of the items a higher value. Overall, I think Bluum is a great box for families and it makes for a fun surprise each month for your little one. I also think this would make a great gift for a new parent since it is something new each month that is based on your child's age!
