August's theme is "Aquatic Dreams." The info card included specifies each brushes name and details techniques that best fit each brush.
Now, on to the brushes!
Morphe E6 Premium Flat Buffer - Value $15.00
This flat-topped buffing brush is ideal for working foundation or liquid moisturizer into the skin. It glides over the face with a really pleasant plushness. I found it to not eat up any excess liquid - like a sponge does - so it could really help with conserving product. Instead, it evenly distributes extra product into the skin. Super appreciated, especially with pricier formulas!
I'm really happy with the soft-focus finish that this brush provided, and I've included photos of each brush in action at the end of my review. I hope that you find them to be helpful in determining how each brush can be best used for your needs!
Morphe M577 Jumbo Crease Brush - Value $6.00
This brush has a rounded top that's great for eyeshadow application. I used it to blend a shadow that contrasted with my lid color into the crease. Its sable bristles are gentle and optimal for blending.
Morphe M578 Round Pencil Crease Brush - Value $4.00
This brush is the partner in crime to the M577. While the jumbo crease brush buffs out a defined shadow, this round brush is just right for the shadow's precise application. I used it to apply a medium brown shadow to my crease as well as my lower lash line.
Morphe M576 Pointed Blender Brush - Value $6.00
This pointed blending brush has fluffy bristles that measure 3/4" in length. Its soft touch creates a gentle finish -- perfect for fine-tuning the blend-out of your eyeshadow look. I used it to sweep a transition color along my crease, just above the medium brown and into my brow bone.
In order to provide a little more context as to what worked for me, I wanted to show you how I used these brushes in my everyday makeup routine.
The E6 was absolutely perfect for buffing in tinted moisturizer. I normally use a Beauty Blender, and sometimes I use my hands if I'm opting for the lightest in coverage of my preferred formulas. However, I found that this brush created a much more even finish than my Beauty Blender provides. The tinted moisturizer that I used was light coverage, but this brush would work well with heavier, full-coverage formulas as well.
I also used it to blend a contouring shade of liquid blush along my cheekbones.
Finally, it worked wonderfully to buff in a cream highlighter. Lots of uses for this brush for a flawless face!
I used the M577 in conjunction with the M578 to add some contrasting shadow to my crease and lower lash line. Though this look is pretty natural, these brushes would be awesome for a more dramatic look wherein precision is more of a necessity.
It was tough to get a good shot of this step! To finish my eye look, I used the M576 in a sweeping motion with a soft nude shadow shade. This brush is great for buffing out shadow for a beautiful transition, and I'm excited to use it to buff out smokier or more colorful eye looks as well.
Here's my finished face. I'm so happy with how these MorpheMe brushes helped me easily achieve a look that works for every day.
Verdict: The quality and variety of brushes in this month's MorpheMe Monthly Brush Club box were awesome! They are soft, luxurious, and versatile. These 4 brushes came to about $31.00 which exceeds their promised value of $30. I'd say that this makes the $19.99 box cost more than reasonable, especially if you're a makeup lover like me.
