Vegan Cuts Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2017
The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural, too). They also typically include a nice mix of full size and sample beauty items. Vegan Cuts also offers a monthly Snack Box and quarterly Makeup Box.
Vegan Cuts sends a single package to subscribers who get both the beauty and snack boxes. The beauty items are separated into a little bag. (If you do not get the snack box, I don’t think you get the little bag.)
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Terre Mere Cosmetics Sunstone Mineral Bronzer (0.08 oz) – Value $14.40
I don’t wear bronzer, but am up for repurposing cosmetics. This color is fine as an eyeshadow and I’ve found I can also use it as a blush if I am careful about application (a little goes a long way).
Goddess Garden Orange Vanilla Natural Mineral Sunscreen Lip Balm (0.15 oz) – Value $3.99
This smells nice. More importantly, it contains mineral rather than chemical sunscreens. While I am far from chemical phobic, in my own personal experience, I have had bad luck using lip balms with chemical sunscreens (I have rather a lot of skin allergies). And yet, I know it is important to protect all your skin in the summertime. I’ve thrown this in my purse and will be reaching for it often!
Leeanni Eco Food for Skin 3-in-1 Revolution Light Toner, Serum, and Moisturizer (0.5 fl oz) – Value $3.75
This is perfect for me at this time. I am just not wanting to go through a lengthy skincare routine right now and here is a product with multiple benefits. I am feeling it more as a serum and moisturizer than as a toner. It absorbed into my skin pretty easily and without leaving me feeling greasy.
Green Tidings Lavender Natural Deodorant (1 oz) – Value $5.55
This brand is new to me. However, I’ll have to pass this along to someone else because it is a baking soda based natural deodorant and it also contains essential oils, and those are both no-nos on my underarm area – I learned this the hard way. (Well that, and I insist on using antiperspirant with aluminum. It’s the only thing that works in the summer in Georgia.) It is nice to get something in stick form instead of in a tub, though.
The Wonder Seed Facial Scrub in Water Lotus (2.7 fl oz) – Value $12.95
The Wonder Seed is a common brand in the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box, but I’ve liked everything I’ve tried from them and the products, themselves, are not repeats. Face scrubs are about my second favorite thing to get in subscription boxes after body scrubs so of course, I was happy to see this. (I was almost out of face scrub and was going to have to actually BUY some…) This is not too harsh for me to use every day and it rinses off cleanly.
Moon Souls Apothecary Lunar Soak – Listed Value $11.95
I don’t think this company has a website so I’m not sure how you’d be able to buy this product if you were interested. I’ve used the value from the information card. I’m going to be honest, I don’t participate in any type of spiritual practice or use crystals, herbs, essential oils, etc. That’s just counter to my nature as a scientist. That being said, I do like things that smell nice and can appreciate this product on that level! I’ve been a little stressed out lately and can’t do my usual stress relief at the moment (yoga and cardio) due to a (very) recent oral surgery, so I had a relaxing bath with this, and that was much appreciated. I did tie this up in a piece of cheesecloth – the salts dissolved and the herbs and flowers still scented the bath, but cleanup was a lot easier.
Here is a swatch of the bronzer. This is from a pretty concentrated amount on my finger. It is much more usable for me with a brush and a lighter hand!
Verdict: I calculated a value of $52.59 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. That is a good value for a vegan, natural beauty box. I learned about some new brands and about some new products from brands I already like (like Goddess Garden) and I thought the value was nicely spread around among the different items, so even if one item isn’t for you, you can still get a lot of value out of the box. In general, I thought the items were also seasonally appropriate.
