The information card included a list of items in the box. They included values and I have used a lot of these below because KitNipBox toys can be hard to find for sale online.
Think Cat! Fashion Mirror – Listed Value $6
Monkey and Madison both showed some interest in this, but of course Angus played with it the most. Angus plays with everything the most, but he is 1 and the others are 9 (Sneaky), 10 (Madison), 11 (Monkey), and 13 (Mr. Kitty), respectively, so that is not surprising.
Safemade Snow Leopard Pillow – Listed Value $4
Angus was interested in this right away. He actually does seem to have fun with some of the larger kicker/wrestler type toys. (My older cats are not so much interested in them, but as long as they are getting some use, I am happy to have them.)
‘R Squad Runway Mouse – Listed Value $5
Best Pet Glow in the Dark Mouse – Listed Value $5
Smaller toys with feathers? Big wins at my house! Angus licks feathers but most of the others are also interested in feathers. These seem attached well in both cases.
Paws ‘n Purrs Fancy Dress Boa Wand – Listed Value $6
If I got a dangly toy on a stick in every single cat box, I would not be sad. Sneaky loves them, Angus loves them, and even the others will sometimes show interest. Angus kept trying to steal this from me while I was photographing the box contents.
Smartykat Star Strung Compressed Catnip – Listed Value $5
You can see this out of the package in some of the cat photos. It was super difficult to get out of the package, but I guess that maintained the freshness of the catnip. Most of the cats like compressed catnip toys (even Mr. Kitty).
Prime Taste Salmon Dental Treats - Value $2.18
These are crunchy treats and they really smell like fish. They were pretty popular. So popular that Sneaky tried to eat my hand while I was giving her one.
Gratuitous cat photos ahead (lots and lots):
Angus plays with the feather boa toy.
Angus in the act of pouncing on a mouse toy.
Madison with the compressed catnip toy but also safely about 2/3 of the way under the bed.
Not sure what he was licking here but I hope he enjoyed it.
All right, so this looks like a terrible photo. I wanted to give you all an idea of what it is like to try to give another cat treats when Mr. Kitty is in the room. (Mr. Kitty can’t have most treats.) I was trying to handle the camera and push Mr. Kitty out of the way so most of my photos ended up like this.
Of course Monkey liked the mirror toy. Because he is beautiful.
Monkey with the compressed catnip toy.
At this point, I could tell he was getting tired of me…
Sneaky was not amused.
Unfortunately, this is the only photo of Sneaky eating a treat you will get. Because as soon as the camera went off, she bit the c**p out of my finger and I had to go wash my hands and put on a bandaid. Next time I do this, I am wearing a heavy work glove.
She did really like the treats, though.
Mr. Kitty really likes compressed catnip toys. He kind of bites/gums them (he has bad teeth but we can’t do much about it because of his other medical conditions).
Eyes open!
Looking good! (He’d heard a Sneaky/Angus fight outside the bedroom and perked up. He always goes to investigate such things, even though he can’t see much anymore.)
He REALLY wanted these. (They smelled like fish.) The best I could give him was a sniff.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $33.18 for the June KitNipBox. That is a little above the cost of the box, which is good for a cat subscription. I was super happy to see compressed catnip and so many things with feathers (including a boa on a stick!) and the treats were a hit, as well. This was a good month for us.
What did you think of the June KitNipBox? Do you subscribe to any cat boxes?
