Panda Pals introduces a 'pal' each month - March features Charlie the Monkey! The theme this month is reading.
The suggested age range for Panda Pals is 3-8. The activity sheet this month introduces us to Charlie the Monkey and has some fun things to try on the front and back sheet:
My son (2) is a little too young for Panda Pals, but my niece is 5, right in the middle of the suggested age range. She's pretty good with writing her letters already, but the math exercises would be a fun challenge.
I think Panda Pals generally does a good job of including a variety of different activities so there is at least one thing that a kid at any age would be able to do. My son is learning the ABC song right now, so even though he is nowhere near writing the letters, we still pointed at them while we sang and he pointed out the letters he does know.
Sock Panda always includes a sticker or two. In my experience, all kids this age love stickers, so they're a great extra to throw in.
I am saving this alphabet sheet to give to my niece - she's going to be thrilled with these!
Let's check out the included socks this month:
Charlie the Monkey socks! He's sitting in a tree reading a pile of books. We love his three-dimensional ears:
I'm pretty impressed with the amount of detail on Sock Panda socks, too.
The second pair features the alphabet!
Again, there's a lot of detail on this pair, and the design is nice and colorful too.
Verdict: I love the theme of reading this month! I think Panda Pals is a great gift idea for kids. As a parent, socks are one of those things that are constantly going missing, so we're always happy to get more. Kids love to get mail, too, and the activities help make this a subscription more interactive than others. Value wise, if you count the socks as $7.50 each, which is pretty average for kids' patterned socks - plus you're helping to donate socks to people in need, too.
