Starting in September, each Doki Doki Crate will include 5-7 higher quality items as opposed to the old 8-10 item structure. This means they can send larger, more practical, and higher quality things compared to before. You can read about it here.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Each month comes with a booklet filled with artwork and literature. November's theme is Kawaii Cafe.

doki-doki-november-2016-plush

Baguette Au Petit Lapin - Value $10

This is one of the cutest plushes I've ever received. This Petit Lapin rests upon baguettes and it makes him look like a burger!

The plush is super soft from top to bottom.

Sailor Moon Sweet Mascot Re-Ment Blind Box - Value $9

Subscribers receive one of six designs. Each box comes with two charms: a pastry and a chocolate. You can wear both or one at a time.

The pastry I got looks like Sailor Moon's Moon Scepter. The pink macaron in the center is so unique.

The chocolate has a pink Sailor Moon symbol in the center.

Chocolate Notebook - Value $3

This is a chocolate bar-shaped notepad with a matte, rubbery cover. The cover smells like candy too!

The pages are unlined, so I think I will use mine as a sketchbook.

doki-doki-november-2016-pouch

Puchi Puchi Baguette Pouch - Value $6.99

"Puchi puchi" is the sound effect for something squishy, and this pouch is indeed squishy. It can be used as a decorative baguette plush or a pencil case.

It is so stuffed with padding it leaves little room for actual storage. A couple of pens or coins will work, but anything larger proves difficult to zip up.

doki-doki-november-2016-pen-in-wrapper

Croissant Pen - Value $2

Not only is this pen packaged like a mini pastry, but it also looks just like a croissant!

I don't mind that shape of the pen makes it awkward to grip. I'm here for the adorable factor, after all. It also has a small magnet on the back so that you can attach it to the fridge or any magnetic surface.

doki-doki-november-2016-hoppe-chan

Monthly Hoppe-Chan Slice of Cake - Value $5

This is the monthly Hoppe-Chan item. I think this is the most elaborate piece yet!

Here we have Hoppe-Chan delicately placed on top of a slice of cake, surrounded by chocolate and gumdrops and cream icing. I'm extremely impressed with the quality of the piece, but I don't think it will hold up to daily wear on a bag or a keychain. Instead, this might be suitable for putting on display.

Rilakkuma Sunglasses - Value $12

I think the star of the box is this pair of Rilakkuma sunglasses. For the uninitiated, Rilakkuma is a cartoon bear created by Japanese company San-X, and he gets put on a lot of cute merchandise. This one is a Doki Doki Crate exclusive!

I relate to his "meh" attitude on a very deep level.

Verdict: The total value is about $48. My favorite item has to be the Rilakkuma sunglasses. I think this box is definitely superior to last month's box. Part of that is because I love the theme a lot more, and part of that is because the items feel more substantial. Everything also has more practical value to me. With the way things are going right now, I think Doki Doki Crates are a toss up month to month. However, I really enjoy the direction they're going towards, and I hope they continue curating boxes as amazing as this one.

So I looked over the last 6 or 7 reviews you have written for this box and I am hooked! I have been hooked on kawaii ever since I had to learn about Japanese fashion subcultures for a class I was teaching. I got out of bed and came out to my computer to sign up for this and then talked myself into waiting because we have to fix our jeep lol. But this is on my subscribe ASAP list! Question…how do the shirts fit? Small, like most Asian clothing? Or are they American sizes? Thanks for the awesome reviews!

According to my boyfriend, they fit like a unisex Gildan tee. I hope this helps. Thanks for reading!
