Chococurb has the right idea when it comes to shipping chocolate. They shipped it in a cooler. A cooler with ice packs and a metallic bubble wrapper around the chocolate, to be specific! All the chocolate I received arrived perfectly unmelted...some subs could take a page from Chococurb for sure!
Vivra Chocolate - Thai Satay Bar - Value $7.50
I received this bar in my last Chococurb Mini and I wasn't sure what to think of this bar when I pulled it out of my box.
It is still delicious; I can't even really describe it - you need to try one. It is peanut buttery, with some warmth from the sesame, and the cooling milk chocolate. At first, I thought, this isn't hot at all... I can't even taste the chili...and then it snuck up on me. Don't eat too many squares at once! You'll be in some serious pain from that chili.
TCHO Mokacchino - Value $0.60
This is the perfect two-bite chocolate square. It is milk chocolate and is paired with Blue Bottle Coffee from the Bay Area (of California). I'm not usually a chocolate and coffee enthusiast, but I did really enjoy this little two bite wonder!
Chocolat Dolfin Lait Nougatine - Value $0.50?
...And another little teeny two-bite chocolate! This one has nougatine added to milk chocolate - also delicious, and tauntingly tiny - you'll always want just another bite.
Taza Chocolate - Stone Ground - Hazelnut Crunch - Value $1.70
I was first introduced to Taza Chocolate from Chococurb. I absolutely loved the first chocolate bar I got (the Salted Almond) and this one is no different. I love the texture of it - it's so different from regular chocolate. It's a little more grainy, which I love. The flavor is excellent and it's nice and crunchy.
Rococo - Raspberry Fizz White Chocolate Bar - Value $6.85 USD
This chocolate bar is made with white chocolate, raspberries, and popping candy. The raspberry flavor does come through really well in this chocolate. The fizz part doesn't really come through to me. The popping candies didn't seem to activate in the white chocolate or something. The flavor was excellent, though!
Here's a look at the Raspberry Fizz bars and the Taza bars.
Holiday Avant-Garde Bar Pumpkin Pie - Value $8.00
This chocolate is beautiful. You can see the gorgeous splatters across the top of the chocolate and the avant-garde look of the chocolate. The flavor is honestly the closest to pumpkin pie I've ever had in a candy. The dark chocolate encapsulates a truffle like filling that tastes exactly like pumpkin pie. I love this!
This chocolate bar has an impressively short ingredient list!
Mayana Coconut Dream Bar - Value $7.50
This chocolate bar is made from the same company that makes my ultimate favorite candy bar (The Kitchen Sink bar). I had high expectations for this bar based on that.
This bar is like a Mounds bar kicked up a notch. I didn't really get the crunchy cookie part, but the caramel and coconut layers came through really well. I enjoyed the flavors of the bar but it doesn't beat out the Kitchen Sink bar for me.
Verdict: This is my first Chococurb regular sized box. They promise 5-7 chocolates that are personalized to your tastes. When you subscribe, you fill out a short quiz on your chocolate preference and Chococurb sends bars according to your tastes. The value of this month's shipment is approximately $32.65. That's slightly under the cost of the box, but with the free shipping, I am OK with that. Artisan chocolate is expensive and hard to find and I love that Chococurb finds new, upcoming brands, and more established brands to share with their subscribers! I really enjoyed all of the chocolates I received this month, and look forward to what the next few months bring!
