Each box comes with an info card detailing the candles featured that month, as well as the bonus gift. I like how they match the background of the info card to the print of the fabric.

Kashi Pumpkin Spice Flax Granola Bar – 1.4 oz, Value $1.16

This is a 2-bar packet of a pumpkin spice-flavored granola bar. This is definitely appropriate this time of year and it actually tasted really good.

Mine came a little smashed up but that’s okay. It was still good, especially on top of greek yogurt. It’s made with good, clean ingredients, too!

Nectar Republic Orchard Harvest Seasonal Candle – 8 oz (60 hr burn time), Value $18

This candle smells amazing! I’ve been burning this on the cooler, overcast days here in Michigan and it’s helped bring such a cozy, homey feeling. It smells just like apples and spices and I just love it. The notes include granny smith apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, orange, and cedarwood.

Nectar Republic has other amazing-sounding seasonal fragrances, too, including pumpkin spice, cinnamon + vanilla, and salted caramel (as well as some less-sweet options like fireside, mistletoe, and evergreen).

Nectar Republic Rustic Woods Seasonal Candle – 4 oz (30 hr burn time), Value $9

I don’t see this size specifically listed on Nectar Republic’s site, but it’s just half the full-size. This smells really nice too. It has notes of warm vanilla, clove, sweet mulberry, and balancing notes of fir, pine, & cedar.

I can’t wait to burn this in my office once the weather turns (and stays turned a little more consistently… Michigan weather and season transitions are so temperamental!).

Verdict: I really love the candles (and snack!) in this month’s VellaBox. I know I’ll use both candles but even if I weren’t, these are perfect for gifting which I do a lot of during the holiday months (obviously) both with presents and little hostess gifts! As far as value goes, everything adds up to about $29 which about breaks even with the cost of the box. I’m okay with that because I know I’ll use everything, and if I didn’t I can gift them. Plus they found the candles for me and I got free shipping, so that adds a small value for me, too.

  1. I received this and liked the scents. My kashi bar was SMASHED completely. Like, to a granola state. I opted to cancel my subscription because I just don’t have room for it in my budget any longer.

  2. I love candles, but this sub seems pricey to me for what you receive. Maybe I’m just being a penny pincher scrooge, but it’s not like I can’t easily pick up nice candles for a lot less at most stores.

    • Agreed. I can usually find the big jar candles, like the ones at Michaels, etc., 2 for $10 during sales so the value just isn’t there for me either, although these scents sure do sound nice!
